The professor's eyes became huge and they nearly popped out of her head at the student's reply...she couldn't tell if the student didn't know or if she was being funny. "Well, if this is a class about eating properly, then I doubt that throwing food would be appropriate..and I can't honestly think of any setting that would be acceptable...please think through your answers..." she said sternly at the student...she didn't want that even started in this room.

SPOILER!!: YES YES YES!!!

"The food usually starts with the host, and moves around the table to the left, where his family usually sits." Presley sat two places down from her father on the left when they had dinner, with Leo occupting the space between them, or now that Leo had moved out, right next to him, and if Leo brought Charmayne to dinner, Presley moved down one more seat and Charmayne sat next to Leo. It sounded complicated, but it was just how it went.

And now the smell of the brushetta was making Sky hungry…

What if something that was served this evening was something she was allergic to? Then what was she supposed to do?! Was it proper etiquette to eat it without a fuss, or was there a proper way to turn down a certain dish?

Kurumi glanced nervously at her napkin and picked it up, unfolding it and resting it on her lap. Glancing up at the levitating plate above her table. She looked back at their table, noticing its rounded shape and became even more confused by her question. "Professor," Kurumi said with her hand raised. "Where do we begin passing from? Usually, when the tables are square there is someone sitting at the head of the table who gets dishes serves first...but we are at round ones." Kurumi knew where the head of the table was in accordance to the customs she grew up with, but this was already so different from everything she knew. She couldn't really pass from left to right...or right to left...whichever way it was without knowing where everything started.

At least she was sitting now. No need to worry about tumbling and twisting her ankle in her heels.

"To the left, Professor" Just like that muggle song.."Until it circles back to the first giver."

He raised his hand after placing his napkin in his lap, "Professor don't you take one for yourself and then pass the plate to your left?" You needed to take one for yourself first right, or else everyone would just pass it and no one would get any.

So it was a fair assumption to make.

Wow. That menu looked amazing. He briefly wondered WHO had cooked all of that. Probably the house elf. Lewis glanced at the professor for a moment, trying to assess if maybe she was able to cook all this. Huh. Maybe, maybe not. Though, it had probably been the house elves.

Aw, goodbye menu. Lewis really wished they would have been allowed to keep them. There were some great ideas on them. But there was the first course already. Brushetta. "Profesha, I fink it's fro' left to righ'." Okay, maybe he should have taken his quill out of his mouth first. Raising his hand again after putting the quill in his lap, he repeated his answer again. "I think it's from left to right, Professor." There. Could they eat now? Please?

Now, to figure out which way to pass the food. Elise remembered something her mother said about only giving with the right hand, because some Muggles were superstitious. Raising her hand, she made sure it didn't hit anything.

"Is it left to right, Professor?"
she asked. Cause giving that way just makes sense. Lowering her hand, she relaxed, never letting her posture go slack.

He didn't want to become too distracted, though, so he quickly turned his attention back to the professor. There was a proper way to distribute the food? Eino raised his hand. "Perhaps it would be considerate to begin with the person who is most hungry first, and continue in a most-hungry to least-hungry order, until the person who is the least hungry is served." Any other way would be preposterously and rudely incorrect! He lowered his hand and then folded both of his hands neatly on his lap. He had always heard that resting your elbows on a table was bad, so he was trying to prevent that.

She had certainly put a lot of effort into this and not just the meal, he mused looking over the given items. Before the 5th year knew it however the sheet was taken away from him as well as the others.

As the appetizers appeared, Gideon mulled over the question that was presented to them. "Would it be to the left professor? So ye are passing it in front of ye rather then having yer arm in yer neighbor's face?" It certainly made sense as he lowered his arm after raising it to answer.

Alyssa raised her hand and said. "Professor, the plate would be passed to the person sitting to the left of me, clockwise."

"Thank you! You are all correct!!!" she said with a tilt of her head towards the right. Instantly a diagram popped up on the screen showing an arrow going around a round table and then an arrow going around a square/rectangle table. "You pass the food to the left going in a clockwise direction...if you were sitting at the table with the host, you would let the host start the food...but since we are all here learning together we don't have an official host, so the plate will just start with a random student..." with that the plates of bruschetta levitated to one person at the table and waited for it to be grabbed. "Please just grab one bruschetta off the plate. The plates have been charmed not to fall" she added before someone got nervous about that. "Because the bruschetta is a bread you may eat it with your hands....and place it on your bread dish..."

She flicked her wand and the menu appeared on the screens again and the appetizer was crossed out on the list. "Okay now onto to our next course...and no worries about not being able to finish all of the courses. Each course isn't a huge serving but just enough...." she said moving her wand to signal the cups of soup to come in. Each one flew in and levitated above the tables. "Now before we get our next course I just want to remind you of some common rules that apply in any eating setting...." she said with her sweet smile.

"Number One...never talk with food in your mouth...Number Two....Do not put your elbows on the table. This is rude and can knock items off the table...Number Three...Don't blow on your food, just let it cool down while you have conversations with other guests...and Number Four...If you ever get something that you don't like. It is always customary to take atleast one bite to try it out....unless you are allergic and then you just don't touch it...." yes those were some simple and good ones to start with.

"So before the soup is delivered, can anyone tell me from which side the food will be served to you? And when you done with a course, which side the dish will be removed from?" she asked hoping her question made sense.

OOC: Remember to raise your hand before you answer. .And as always remember she is always watching you! But remember she doesn't handle rudeness towards Muggle ways very well, so you might want to keep those prejudices to yourself unless you want face the consequences! Try the bread!!!!
