Imitating Professor Cerulean, Elise raised her hand, a little confused. Muggle studies was never quite her strong point. That was Herbology.

"Are the Babies and Ducks?"
she asked, saying the first thing that came to mind. "We're not actually having babies for dinner, are we Professor?"

If they were, El would probably run out screaming. Not good.
The professor smiled at the girl. "No the b stands for the bread dish and the d stands for drinks...and no we are noting having babies of any type for dinner..."

"Or possibly BreaD?" Vlim said just as confusedly. She had tried...
The professor beamed at the student, "Well we'll be getting our first course shortly, but the b stands for bread dish and the d stands for drinks..."

As a pureblood wizard he had always experienced the wizard custom first, but he had eaten at muggle restaurants before and never stood out. They use plates and plates, too? So far, no differences. When prompted Eino attempted to do the B and D with his hands as Professor Cerulean demonstrated, but he was having a little trouble. When she asked what the two letters stood for, Eino raised his hand. "B is for, ummm, bubbles, because sparkling drinks make bubbles and they are on this side... D is for, uh, dishes, because you put your extra dishes here." Sounded reasonable.
Gemma smiled at the boy's answer, "I like your thinking...and your words but actually the answer is opposite of yours...the b is for bread plate and the d is for drinks...."

Because eating dinners in such an environment was always so confusing with all the different spoons and forks and things. It was too complicated. It was like they couldn't just settle down for one simple utensil to use throughout the whole meal. That definitely had to be what the B and D stood for.
The young professor laughed a little bit at the girl's answer, "Well, I'm sure many people think the same way you do with all of the items on the table, but trust me the meal is going to be delicious!" she said with a little nod up and down.

What here looked like it belonged to a b category... b...dinner... "Does...b mean...baked goods?" Kurumi asked after raising her hand and then she glanced back at the table. D...d...d...what could d be? Design? Delicates? As in...their napkin? That sounded a fair enough guess. "And the d is...delicates? Such as our napkin?"
Gemma was always happy to hear an answer from one of her favorite Gryffindors. "Kurumi, I like your answers...but actually the b stands for bread dish and the d stands for drinks...it helps you remember which of these is yours...but way to think outside of the box...."

She thought about it for a while and then raised her hand, "Does it mean before dinner and during dinner?" It kinda made sense. Maybe not complete sense.
Gemma smiled at the girl, "Well kind of...." she said with a tilt of her head and then she went to the next answer...the professor would explain the correct answer shortly.

But she swallowed her pride and sat at the red table with all of her friends. When the first question was asked Selina looked around the room for some kind of indication. B and D? Nope no idea. Might as well give a guess. So she rose her hand and said, "B stands for beginning because that is what you start with and D stands for Dinner because that is what we are eating?" Eh, worth a shot.
The professor smiled at the girl's answer..."Good thinking, but just wait for the answer..."

Nevertheless, Sierra sat there, all dressed up in her formal attire, listening to the professor. Why was Sierra here again, in a Muggle Studies class? Oh. Right. Because her father was the new Minister of Magic, and Professor Lafay thought it'd be a wonderful idea for his daughter to know the ways of all the people. Blahh. Well, at least there was food, and at least what they were learning was important in the Wizarding World, too.

She followed along, although things were moving along kind of quickly with screens popping up everywhere. She made the B and D formations with her hands, looked them over carefully to try and figure out what they might mean, and then hesitantly raised her hand. "Maybe it's for bread and drink?" she suggested. "Does it tell you that your bread is where your hand formed the B, and your drink is where your hand formed the D?" It was the only thing that made sense to her. What else on the table could the letters stand for?

Eva thought to herself. She came up with an alright answer to do with 'B and D' and put her hand up and responded to the question; "Is it Brutal Dinner?" Eva with only this time a little bit of confusion. She knew it wasn't right so she thought deeper and deeper. She came up with something that made a lot more sense this time. Still keeping her hand up she spoke for the second time and said; "Sorry I finally figured it out; B is to remember that your bread is on the left and D is to remember that your drink is on the right. It is a tip to remember which one is your so you don't get confused with the person next to you." Wow! Eva sounded a know-it-all then but she was sure she got it right.

She made the hand gestures as requested as well, although she dropped one of them as she'd raised her hand to answer the question. "Insofar as we're focusing on the specific items, the B and D refer to the bread plate and water glass. Indicating that the bread plate should always be on our left, and our glass on the right," she replied, adding a bit to what had been said by others as she glanced over at Dia again. Apparently etiquette classes happened at other places as well, or at least the other Claw had interesting reading habits.

Sky calmly (the lesson was about etiquette, after all) raised her hand before confidently answering, "We're making the b with our left hand because the bread plate will be on the top left of the place setting and the d with our right because our drink will be on the top right."

Even though others had already answered the question, she still raised her hand to give hers. "Professor, the b stands for our bread plate which should always be placed on our left hand side and the d stand for our drink glass that should always be on our right. So if the table arrangement is very close together, we need to remember that we shouldn't reach over to the right to take the bread from that plate because that bread belongs to the person on our right and if we wanted to make sure that we didn't end up drinking someone else water, we should always reach for the glass on our right and not the one on our left."

"Bread and drink, Professor. Helps us remember which side each is."

Gemma shook her head excitedly up and down, "Yes you are correct. The B stands for the bread plate which is the little plate to the left of your plate..." she flicked her wand at the plate on the left side levitated for a few seconds and then placed back down softly. "And the D stands for drink because your drinking glasses can always be found at the top right of your plate..." she flicked her wand at the two clear stemmed glasses levitated as well...but they stayed up a little bit longer. "I almost forgot to get you all drinks..." she flicked her wand just a little bit and a pitcher full of tea and a pitcher full of water started working its way around the room filling up the glasses. "Tonite you'll be getting two different drinks. You'll get water and then you'll get tea. Feel free to add sugar to your tea if you prefer..." she said waiting for the glasses to become filled. "O and you can have drinks whenever you want...the only real etiquette with the drinks is that you don't gulp them down and you don't have to point your pinky out as you drink..." she said with a little giggle.

Once all of the glasses were filled, a picture showed on all of the screens.
SPOILER!!: Proper Table Setting

The professor went over each item on the diagram holding up each one from her table and as she held hers up the matching items levitated shortly off of each round table. So when she held up the salad fork, all of the salad forks in the room levitated slightly off the table.

Then she continued, "Tonite we are going to have a seven course meal." she smiled as she said it knowing that her stomach was rumbling. "Can anyone name ONE of the seven courses of a meal?" she asked as she flicked her wand to clear the screens hanging from the roof. "And don't forget to raise your hand before answering please."

OOC: Remember to raise your hand before you answer. You can have crazy answers if you would like...Gemma and I love creative answers....And as always remember she is always watching you! But remember she doesn't handle rudeness towards Muggle ways very well, so you might want to keep those prejudices to yourself unless you want face the consequences!
