"Will, you excuse me, Professor," she said a little hurriedly, bowing once more before walking towards the opposite end of the table.

Noticing that Kurumi was distracted by the presence of a new- wait no... returning? But she wasn't here last year? ... curious -Professor, she just smiled and nodded as the Prefect excused herself.
"Talk to you later dear," she replied.

Honestly she thought he would've wrote an counter-article or something to defend them but she wasn't about to say anything...she didn't want to start the year off with her foot in her mouth again like she did last year.

She reached for a cup of tea sitting in front of her and as she sipped she watched the children scurrying around....yes they were very much like ants...she thought with a smile on her face.

AHA! So Gemma hadn't left the school... she changed subject areas instead. Hhhmm that sounded fun. Either way it was good to see she had decided to stay.

Smiling, she leaned across the table, a little closer to Dash, no doubt invading his personal space, she couldn't help it. She loved socialising, and she needed to get a little closer to the woman who used to sit beside her.
"Gemma, new position I see," she said sending her a wink.

SPOILER!!: DASH!... *runs*

It is the kind of nickname that one gets when they grow up with three older sisters that seem to constantly want to play dress up." He had learned at a very young age to run away. And fast. He was sure the simple nickname also had something to do with his middle name.

Everett chuckled. "Well I guess I can try to help you come up with one." Seren and plants, herbology? Something to do with that maybe. "It shouldn't be too hard."

He blinked. History? What sort. Huh. "Really all of it. Magical, Muggle. The past is just interesting." The people and the items and the events. All of that. "I must let you know from now though. I have absolutely no memory what so ever in anything that his to do with Herbology. I was actually quite horrible at that class." He smirked. It was an important thing for the Herbology Professor to know!

Laughing lightly as Dash uncovered the history behind his nickname, Seren couldn't help but remember her childhood one. Though it was hardly appropriate anymore. Even if Dash seemed confident in the fact it wouldn't be difficult to think of something... it was. She had grone through Hogwarts and even since then had never been graced with a new name.
"It's harder than you think," she said raising an eyebrow mysteriously, though really there was nothing mysterious about her at all. "When I was younger my family called me Starflower, but I fear I have out grown that one."

"History is such a wonderful subject, I love it dearly, but often I just don't have the patience to stay seated and immerse myself in it. I like to keep busy." Though she loved all that Medieval history, and even Post-Modern muggle history, what with all their wars on terror... almost sounded as if they were taking on a bunch of boggarts!
Seren couldn't help but smirk a little, well as much of a smirk as she could muster- even if it still resembled a smile to most people.
"I'll keep that in mind, though if you ever want some pointers, you know where to find me."

Hearing Edvard responding to her greeting, she quickly hurried back to his end of the table. No point yelling over everyone right? Her eyes lit up brightly, yes, yes she had recieved them, and they were terrific! marvelous! incredible!... though she still hadn't had enough time to inspect them properly.
"Yes I did, they arrived day before yesterday... I've actually been meaning to talk to you about them. Perhaps meet in the staffroom later?" she asked. And she could find out how he was settling in as well. He seemed to be fitting in quite well so far, this was good to see.

Hopefully they'd be clean tomorrow morning, though. No one wanted breakfast on dirty plates... No one wanted tea on dirty plates either, for that matter. Beth made a mental note to clean her crockery before the food arrived.

Beth smiled at the professor's introduction. Seren Bentley. I need to remember that name. "It's okay. Elizabeth Brookes. I'm the healer... and nervous." She nodded slightly, and eyed all of the students. There were so many of them... Loads more than from her own Hogwarts days. But then again... Beth hid from most of them... "I take it you're a returning professor, then?" The air of confidence about her and all... There's no way she could be new.

"No... I don't know what the house elves think they're doing... is this some sort of joke?".... because if it was, it most certainly wasn't funny, and it was a little disheartening. "But I'm sure things will return to normal soon enough.
Dirty cuttlery and silverware would not go down too well with her, coming up for breakfast and dinner were often the only reasons for her to set foot in the castle, and even if she loved her office and little cottage, she liked to be among people... not away from them.

Elizabeth Brookes... that name certainly sounded familiar. "It's a pleasure to meet you," she replied. Following Elizabeth's gaze out to the sea of students she could see how the Nurse would be nervous.
"They're a friendly bunch, and you'll fit right in ... though be prepared to be busy. They're a generally clumsy lot, and Quidditch is usually brutal." For some reason the kids seemed to have a No Mercy policy when it came to quidditch. Then again, it was a little like that back in her day as well.

Harlow bounced and clapped happily a few times. She liked the plant. "Yes ma'am, I have a garden at home. My dad helped me plant it and taught me all sorts of things to take care of it." She leaned up and placed a hand to her mouth, "Even a special fertilizer." she whispered. "Gardening is my favorite thing next to writing." her eyes took on a misty look.

Well wasn't that just darling! Merlin, perhaps having children wouldn't be so bad after all, especially if they were as adorable as this little snake! Such a lovely, friendly and well mannered girl, her mother must be so proud.

And she has a garden at home! Precious! ... Seren couldn't help but think she needed to restrain herself. Keep breathing and stay calm. Little green-thumbed children were nothing to get too excited over. But deep down she knew they were.
"A garden! that's brilliant, just you wait until you see the student garden and the greenhouses, I'm sure you'll enjoy them immensely." Lowering her voice a little, so that only Harlow could hear, she whispered, "Plus... we have special fertilizer too," and gave her a small wink.

All this talk about herbology made her excited, and even though she loved the start of term feast, she longed to be back in her research shed.

But then, at least she already knew she wasn't the only transfer from Beauxbatons, and thinking about her conversation with Paulie on the train helped her relax a little. Maybe nobody had noticed her slip-up.

But then one of the professors had responded to her, and she turned with a slight nod. "Yes. Although my sister graduated from Hogwarts a couple of years ago," she replied, before smiling as she got the professor's name. "It's nice to meet you as well, Professor Bentley, and I hope so." herbology wasn't a strong suit, but she had nothing against the subject. Gardening was nice, and maybe it would remind her of home. In a weird way. Plus, she wasn't about to think about not taking any of the classes here without knowing what they were like.

Seren smiled brightly-- when did she not? ...
"Well I'm sure your sister would have filled you in about Hogwarts, so I'm sure you'll feel right at home. I imagine it will take some getting used to though."But if the girl could handle Beauxbaton's then she could certainly handle Hogwarts... even with all the things that went on around here.

*sigh*

A normal year at Hogwarts? She'd never heard of such a thing, and at the same time she didn't want to. Hogwarts was special, and so it was only fitting for things to be a little out of place.
