"Bonsoir," she said, almost without thinking, then flushed a little as she made herself switch back to English. You're not at Beauxbatons, she reminded herself again. "Sorry. I just wanted to come up and introduce myself, and say I'm looking forward to all your classes this term," she continued, after her little inner reprimand, then flushed again. "I'm Stella Gardiner." Yeah, that was definitely not the introduction you wanted, in front of your new professors. Hopefully things would get better soon.
Another student? And thus the term was officially in full swing.

Had this one just murmured a hello in French though? Strange. "Ciao," Fina said automatically. If they were going with native languages and all, may as well. Stella. Committing the name to memory, she nodded. "Nice to meet you as well, Stella. I'm Professor Hadley, the Arithmancy professor." This was the time of year when she felt repetition was expected.

Seeing the wink from Seren's expression, Fina made a quick mental note to stop by the greenhouses later. Though she hadn't been in there since she was like fifteen and never expected to enter them again, she figured for colleague sake, it was different, right?

Tate eyed the students with distraction before turning back to the table. "I thought about demanding a retraction after the tripe they published, but they don't seem particularly concerned with the truth. Let's pretend the whole thing doesn't exist."
Hearing Althea speak out again, Fina turned back toward her. She was about to offer her the paper, which she had tucked away in her handbag on the floor, when the Headmaster made his presence known . . .

Apparently she and Tate were the only ones who read the prophet? "Just some rubbish the Prophet prints. Apparently nothing to worry about." Making a mental note to burn the paper later, she changed the topic back to the tarnished dishes and summer. Summer was always a safe topic, right?

"Tate," she acknowledged with a nod. "Did you enjoy most of your time off?" Except the garbage news.

She had a slight wibble now. She sure hoped that nothing bad had happened to Twinkle.

Worst of all...what if the kitchens were off limits?! That would mean an entire term without baking...
Numbers solving what happened with the silverware? That was an interesting concept. "Perhaps. It seems, then, that I have some research to do." Great. Thanks, Kurumi! "I think so.... But I can't really be sure. Perhaps something else in the numbers..." She hadn't read into anything lately though.

"I wouldn't worry too much though." At least not yet. Surely a visit to the kitchens would get things sorted out, right?

She made her way into the Great Hall, hoping that she wasn't going to have to walk through all the students to get to the Staff Table. The Great Hall hadn't changed at all since her days at Hogwarts. The students seemed more cheerful and... lively, but that could also just be a change of perspective.

As she got to the staff table, she saw that there were already a good number of professors were already seated: including Headmaster Tate.

Oops.

Perhaps she should have left the Hospital Wing earlier ...

The tiny Healer offered the Headmaster a small smile as she made her way to her seat. The staff did still sit in subject order, didn't they? Well... it seemed so. She sat down inbetween the Groundskeeper and the Herbology professors, and the first thing she went to do is pick up her goblet to fill it with some pumpkin juice.

Oh. Eww... This is filthy.

Had Hogwarts given up on the House Elves? With a slight look of disgust on her face, the Healer put the cup back down. She'd rather go without the drink....
As another body took their place at the staff table, Josephina turned her head in surprise. She knew her, for certain! Unlike the male sitting near Seren who looked only vaguely familiar. The brunette woman to sit on the other side of Seren, she KNEW.

She remembered her when the girl was sorted into her house when she was just a mere second year.

"Bethy!" Fina exclaimed. "I didn't know you were coming to work at Hogwarts!" Well of course not. How could she have when she lost contact with mostly everyone upon her own graduation? And so much for not shouting down the staff table.

Narrowing her eyes, Issy scanned the plate that had been placed in her spot. It was dirty, and - dirty.

Shaking her head at what must have been just some stray dirt the house elves hadn't noticed, she took out her wand and cleaned it herself, before sitting in her seat. Leaning forward she glanced down the table to all the other people sat at it - noticing the seat next to her was currently empty. "Good evening everyone! Nice to be back, isn't it?" Some she knew, others not. But from her place at the end of the table, now wasn't really a good time to socialise.

She did notice Kurumi though, down the other end. Giving the girl a broad smile and small wave, Issy went back to looking at the table layout. She hadn't yet seen the gleaming badge the Gryffindor was wearing.

Picking up the goblet in front of her, Issy was just about to take a sip when she saw something. "Why is there dirty, black stuff floating in my pumpkin juice?" She asked no one inpaticular.
And there was another familiar face; not one from her school days, but rather from when she worked with her two years. Isabelle Magnus had returned and she looked .... splendid, actually. Something was different about her, though Hadley wasn't sure what.

Brief smile and another mental note of someone she would have to visit with soon.

"Are you a returning staffer?" he asked curiously. Unlike him who was completley new? If so then Edvard would take care to become good friends with her. It was better to be freinds with your colleagues than enemies.

Hearing Althea's raised voice Eddie shot a look in her direction. What was she working herself up over? Had there come a new prophet issue about the new Hogwarts staff? Had he too been mentioned in it? Scratching his head absent-mindedly he asked nobody in particular "Does anyone have a copy of the article that Professor Schrimer is talking about?" The charms professor was clearly working herself up into a state. To stop it they needed an issue of the latest prophet to put it all to rest. Hopefully somebody would supply one soon.
Oh good; she hadn't made a complete fool of herself and he had sat in Risu's former seat for a reason not just because of familiarity with Althea. "Nice to meet you, Edvard," Fina said. "Josephina Hadley, Arithmancy Professor."

Was she a returning staffer? Did she look that new or something? Or perhaps it was just because her whole side of the table was basically new? "I am indeed returning. This will be my ... fifth year teaching at Hogwarts." And actually the longest she stayed at any of her previous jobs.

Oh... What had she started with the Prophet Article talk? "I have the article, but ..." she eyed the Headmaster carefully. "We're supposed to pretend it doesn't exist or something." So yea. Just forget about it for now and perhaps later, out of prying eyes . . .
