Music is just one of those added touches to the movie which makes the scenes much more emotional and memorable. I think some of the compositions by John Williams brought conveyed the magic of the story and added a whole new dimension to scenes such as Harry riding on Buckbeak's back and soaring through the sky beyond the lake and over the castle while "Buckbeak's Flight" was played in the background and "A Window to the Past" played during Harry and Lupin's chat. In twenty years time, if you hear these melodies being played somewhere, you'd instantly remember those scenes from the movie and feel an emotional bond to it just as the first time you heard it.
