Daphne's blond brows knitted together in deep thought. The title sounded familiar but the sole Hopton daughter could have sworn it sounded a little different back then when she first heard of it. Still, the girl imparted a polite smile towards the Gavin McNally. "Mister McNally," she managed to utter before there were more voices filling the area. The open floor plan seemed like a good idea, Daphne was sure, however, she could easily come up with reasons why she already disliked it. There was barely any privacy. "Uh," she started, aware of someone else addressing her--a Sky or something. That was an interesting name. Then again, there had been a trend about a thousand years ago to name their children after Celestial bodies. Daphne wasn't all too bothered by the uniqueness of her coworker's name.
The introductions didn't go any further. Their presence was required in the conference room. Daphne concluded the loud witch was the one in charge of the Department--in other words her boss. The blond gave her clothes a brief look over, just to make sure there wasn't a strand of hair clinging to her pencil skirt, or an unsightly stain of an unknown substance or the other on her blouse or blazer. Once she felt sure she at least looked presentable, Daphne followed the more confident employees. They seemed like they knew the place so an easy way to learn the layout of the place was to keep close to them. |
