I think it is i feel society doesnt take poetry seriously not many people get reconised for it. It bugs me because poetry is something i love and think is one of my only really good talents.

so what do you think?

i definitely think it is. when i tell people i like poetry they all look at me kind of wierd, and few people will claim to actually like shakespeare, but most people do, so theyfore, yes it is!

I don't think it's underrated. Perhaps that's because poetry is HUGE at my school. When we publish our book of art/photography/creative writing at the end of the year, eighty percent of the material is poetry, written by students at my school. All different types of students, not just the stereotypical 'nerds'.
