Sorry it took so long to update! But finally a poem is here. It's another non-rhyming poem..this time from Tonks' point of view. Please tell me what you think!

Fading

I’m ever so slowly fading
Fading
Fading
Into this dark world
Is there any light?

It’s not only my hair,
Which has turned a mousy brown
Where it used to be bubblegum pink
It’s not only my voice,
Which has turned soft and distant
Where it used to be full of zest

I cannot stop thinking of you
Of your soft, deep eyes
Of your quiet being
Of your strong heart

I know you don’t love me
You cannot possibly know how I feel about you
Are you blinded?
Are you uninterested?
Are you too pained to see that someone loves you?

When will you figure this out?
When will you realize that I won’t love any other person than you?
When will you love me in return?

Remus, the truth is,
You’re not too old for me
Not too boring for me
Not too weak for me.
You are perfect for me.

Wow, I just saw my last post, and I thought that it's about time I put up another poem! Here's a short little couplet. Enjoy, and please post your comments!

Fleur Delacour

She waltzes into the Great Hall
Being gawked and stared at by all

Her silvery-blondish hair flows
How it does that, nobody knows

All they know is she is striking
And this is much to her liking

Instantly jealous are the girls
Who’d like nothing more than to hurl

As for the boys, they’re hooked at once
They could care less if she’s a dunce

Curtseying in a perfect way,
She then sits down without delay

The long speech starts but however,
All eyes are on Fleur Delacour.

This is a poem that corresponds with my fanfic, Flying High(Sa13+). It's from Oliver to Grace.

Dear Grace,

I just wanted to let you know
How much you mean to me
You make me feel like smiling,
Dancing,
Shouting,
For joy

You are beautiful inside and out
And for that you’ve forever grasped my heart

Felix is a good friend

This poem is based on inferences I’ve made, and I’m sure you’ve made, from Ron and Hermione’s relationship in the books and movies. This, like my James/Lily poem, is free verse.

Draco Malfoy’s Swooning Power

His cold, blue eyes sweep through the room
His slim face as pale as the moon.
A scowl is etched onto his face
A look of torment and disgrace
Yet he still causes girls to swoon.

Slicked back and blonde is Draco’s hair,
Causing us girls to gape and stare
Does he notice? We do not know
But if he does, he doesn’t show
No one can hide from his death glare.

There’s a Quidditch match about to start
You Slytherins will do your part;
You have the great seeker, Draco,
Who is sure to be on the go
When he looks up, it warms our hearts.

Rich, superior, full of pride
Is what Draco is like inside
Don’t mess with him; he’ll get revenge
He will hurt you; he won’t defend
So by his rules you must abide

The final question that I ask
Is “why in Draco do we bask?”
So stop and think and ponder this
About this boy we’d like to kiss.
The explanation is my task.

We like Draco ‘cause he’s no fool
His beautiful face makes us drool
He is a complex character
Though others he likes to deter.
Basically, we love him; he’s COOL!

This is the first task of the Triwizard Tournament from Harry’s perspective. It’s, again, free verse.

First Task

My heart is beating
Throbbing
Palpitating
I can hear shouts
An occasional roar
And cheers
Why did I have to be last?
Why couldn’t I have been first to go?
This is doing nothing for my jittering nerves
I can hardly bear it
The minutes feel like hours
Finally, I step into the sunlight
Taking a deep breath,
I calm my shaking body
My muddled head
My weak heart
I face the Horntail
Look into its savage eyes
Everything passes me in a blur
I only remember soaring
Feeling the wind on my face
Something sharp pierces my skin
It penetrates hard
The blood doesn’t stop
I will myself to press on
With a final swoop,
I nab the golden egg
My prize never looked so dazzling before
As I hold it up
I hear the same loud applause
Then I know that I’ve completed my first task

Here’s another one of the poem formats I’m experimenting with, called a diamante. The outline is as follows:

Line 1: Noun or subject
Line 2: Two Adjectives describing the first noun/subject
Line 3: Three -ing words describing the first noun/subject
Line 4: Four words: two about the first noun/subject, two about the antonym/synonym
Line 5: Three -ing words about the antonym/synonym
Line 6: Two adjectives describing the antonym/synonym
Line 7: Antonym/synonym for the subject

The subject of this poem is contrasting Cedric Diggory and Draco Malfoy (two very different personalities. As you see, the poem starts with a word but ends with an antonym, or opposite, of the word.)

thats awesome! we were just doing those types of poems in school . . but i stink!! lol, anyway, i really luv these poems, you shud definitly keep at it!!! i especially like the one about Ron and Hermione's feelings about eachother, that was so nice!!!!

This poem is called a cinquain. It follows this pattern:

Line 1: Noun
Line 2: Description of Noun
Line 3: Action
Line 4: Feeling or Effect
Line 5: Synonym of the initial noun.

So, here goes my poem about dementors:

Dementors
Dark, menacing figures
Roam around, draining happiness
Coldness and hopelessness floods them
Guards of Azkaban

It’s kind of odd, I think, but I did it just for the fun of it You know, just to try something interesting and new. Just to warn you, I may be experimenting with more types of poetry.
