Laieesha’s Poems for Brokenhearted.
Wow. These are so good Laieesha! I especially like Nightmare. It can mean diff stuff to diff ppl.
Omg, that’s so freaky.
You know how you think you know how you feel but you can’t really get it in words or say it aloud at all. That’s exactly the effect ur poems give me! They’re all so good. This might seem weird but I've actually made a scrap book that have all ur poems and some of Angel’s. They’re awesome! Can’t wait for more!
Love always,
Tina

WORDS

At night words fill my head
Right before I go to bed.
No matter how much I try
They just won't leave my mind.
Feelings of frustration show
Wanting to let the world know
How I'm truly feeling deep inside
Not letting my heart be my guide.
At times, my mind is blank and bare
Sometimes I just don't care.
But when I do try to go to sleep
These words begin to creep.
I want to let the words out
Should I write or scream and shout?
So I grab a pen and a scrap of paper
And pour my thoughts here and there.
But sometimes writing doesn't do it
Words are all over, and just won't fit.
Why am I trapped by these words?
Like some sort of caged birds?
Tortured inside, forever lonely
Haunted by memories for all eternity..

made that up just now, while i was responding to Kori's poems. thanks for the idea Kor! i told you i feel this way too sometimes, and here's my version of that poem you wrote about just having all these thoughts and ideas and all that jazz lol! seriously though, i havent written anything in so long, until i started writing my old ones on this thread. then the words came back and keep me awake at night.........

Wow I'm glad I inspired you! And seriously I was writing nothing that amounted to anything until I wrote that first poem that's in my thread it really made me think about all the feelings that I have about....everything. I think that's what I do that amounts to anything is listen to music and write poetry, lame as it is. It also helps that that was shortly after I was let off of the ritalin (or whatever variation of the drug) that my avatar mentions "I'm the son of rage and love/the Jesus of Suburbia/from the Bible of None of the Above/On a steady diet of/Soda pop and ritalin...". So yeah. I mean you wouldn't think it but that stuff didn't help me concentrate...it helped me become slightly less inspired.

Thanks dagger!

I have another one... wow, i'm on a roll! i guess i was bored last night. This one I wrote before I went to sleep...

******************

Your fault

Remember the love we once shared?
Remember when you actually cared?
Those nights when we talked all night long,
We even had a special song.
I remember the time you looked my way
I remember you brightened my days.
I remember how you'd stare at my face
Then we would kiss and embrace.
I loved your every single touch
I thought we loved each other so much.
I thought I would never be alone
Until the day you called me on the phone.
You told me there was someone new
And here I thought our love was true.
I felt the phone shaking in my hand
How dare you ask me to understand?
Although you sounded sincerely sad
You can't blame me for being so mad!
Then, of course, I started to cry
And I heard myself start to lie.
I said I didn't love you, so go ahead
And I don't remember what else I said.
One thing I'd want you to always know
You messed up, you shouldn't have let me go...

Ha ha you said "I'm on a roll" kind of like I had. Anyways, moving on...very nice. Except you always seem to be writing about a relationship. Is this based on reality, or is it just fictional? Hmm...

lol!! oh did you say that too?? coz i know i haven't been writing in, like, forever and then all of a sudden, my little poetry notebook is getting new poems!

anyhoot, i'm always writing about relationships because, well, that's where my passion come from. and where else can you get the most feelings - the most passion - than when you get your little heart broken into a million pieces?? i've been through a lot of heartbreaks so i guess i know what i'm talking about. also, i guess i havent been writing in ages because i've been with my boyfriend for all these years, and it's become... a routine. like nothing is new or exciting anymore. only after majorly crushing on oliver phelps did i get my 'passion' back. lame, i know, coz it's like not even possible, but hey, it helps...

Lol I understand. Well, I don't understand understand because I've never even had a boyfriend or been on a date, but I get what you're saying. And um...to bring up Green Day...

but that totally reminds me of the song "Redundant" which is about how Billie's relationship with his wife was difficult because things were getting routine we're living in a repetition/caught in the same old schtick again/the routine's turning to contention/like a production line going over and over and over .... I cannot speak/I've lost my voice/I'm speechless and redundant/cause "I Love You's" not enough/I'm lost for words Long quote of the song, but I think you get the idea. And hey, anything if it makes you happy, right?

Oh and yes I just thought I'd say that that was one of my favorite songs by them, just to let you know.

^ That's exactly what i'm saying! and how can i be inspired with someone like that? well, i'm not saying he should break my heart (which he already did, by the way, but that was a hundred years ago) but i'm saying there should still be spark, excitement, etc to ignite the passion. but oh well, we'll see what happens... *hopes no one senses relationship problem* lol! but yeah, awesome! maybe -I- should listen to green day huh??

Hey I wouldn't object. But that's you know, me. Of course I think you should, lol. And may I offer you the suggestion of writing about something other than relationships? Or here's a thought: write your own version of "Redundant". That is, write about how there's nothing inspiring about a relationship that's so .... and maybe then you wont have to write about heartbreak... Or ... write about something completely new ... make something up ... I don't know. A story or something. Like "Tastes Like Tofu". Or about music or...anything, really. To be the ultimate cliché, the sky's the limit, so...yeah.

hhmm.. not a bad idea. but the thread is called "Laieesha's poems for the brokenhearted", that's why my poems are about heartbreaks and such. but i did write Confined, My Addiction (the HP poem), Nightmare, and Words (which aren't about relationships) and there's another poem I have that I haven't posted on here. It's called "The Black Death", which is of course about the plague. I wrote it when I was a sophomore in high school, because we were learning about it and stuff... but i'll try that version of Redundant, or try something else... *runs off to write*

I love that song too! And many more by them… but I don’t want to get into that…Might not stop! Lol.

Wow…Trust me… Ur not missing out on anything. Well… just a bunch of heart break and hurting. And jerks… and pervs.. And guys who are too conceited. And Did I say heartbreak.
Well.. maybe there are good times… but in the end it’s full of BS…Sry… I’m just sick and tired…Ur poems really help though Lai!

Lol… From your poems and the image I have in my mind on ur relationship. If it’s lasted so long....it should be worth it. I mean… even though there might be times when it’s so crazy…There are other times when you share awesome memories. But Then again.. if he doesn’t satisfy the needs an awesome person like you deserves maybe it’s time to meet new people. Forget it… I’m the last person to be giving advice on relationships…

I have an idea. Maybe you could just change the title/ name of ur game; You can ask a mod. But from earlier experience. You need to go and edit your first post. You should say what the change is. And state the day/ time it changed. Oh and Can’t wait for more!! Post more soon!

wow, that was a long response Tina! lol thanks for the advice. Actually, I did change the name of this already. It used to be "From My Head to this Thread" and I changed it to what it is now... I'll just ask to have it change again. I have something in mind....

Also, I'm sort of writing another poem -- well not writing, but it's in my head. I haven't had time to actually write it. And just like Kori said, if it's not written, you tend to forget some ideas/words. Tomorrow's my day off, so maybe I'll write tonight or tomorrow. It's about the "feeling of routine" thing, and it still sounds like my other poems. Oh well, maybe I won't change the name of the thread...

fantabulous... hehe... anyway, sorry if i haven't updated in a while. i've been working on my site, posting my poems there, and that sort of took most of my time. it's just that i wanted to see the poems all together...

for my new poetry site, just go here to see them... it's easier to find the poems (and some of them, I edited some words here and there, but basically all the same thing... it's a free site, so i apologize for the ads)

anyhoot, i'll be posting new poems soon, and i'll post them here first before i do it on my site... thanks for the comments y'alls!! i really do appreciate it...

Default Finally!! A new one!!

Here's the one I've been working on... well, not really, I just have ideas and stuff, but I didn't really sit down and work on it til today (not busy here at work.) It's my version of GD's "Redundant" (per Kori ) It actually sounds more like a song than a poem... but anyways, here it is.................

***********

Redundant

Why do we pretend?
Pretend nothing's wrong.
Pretend all is fine
Just leave things alone.

Every morning of every day
We kiss goodbye and on we go
At night when I get home
I see you and kiss hello.

Round and round in circles it seems
Life revolving round this stupid routine
Can't shake off this bad dream
Redundant our lives have been.

Most of the time, we are apart
Enjoying things, not with each other.
Excitement in this relationship
Is gone, has faded altogether.

What has happened to us?
We used to be so happy, so connected.
Somewhere along the way, it changed.
This is not at all what I expected.

Round and round in circles it seems
I can't keep doing this stupid routine.
Our love has ceased to be evergreen
Redundant our life together has been...

That's very good! It does seem a bit like a song, but I'd kill to be able to write a song. I've just always had trouble putting ideas into the right, a suitable, form of verse. Ergh it's bothersome. Anyway nice poem. And, yeah, that's basically what the song is.

wow... it's been like 3 weeks since my last poem!! Sorry, but I've just been busy at work, (and going out hehe) and no time to write poems. I've had so many that I just thought of, but of course, not having a pen/paper handy, eventually they went away. Let me write a quickie 'heartbreak' poem, to see if I'm getting rusty yet. I'm just sort of winging it, so sorry if it's a little corny...

************

Free

Eyes blurry with tears
Wiping make up as it smears
My heart is sobbing here
And I don't care who will hear.

I wasn't ready to find
That my heart's gone blind,
Let this be the last time
That I claim you to be mine.

I gave my all to you
Did everything I could do
Still, you thought it was untrue
You left and took your love with you.

What I am thankful for
As I watched you walk out the door
I learned to love myself even more
Something I should have done before.

Thank you for making me see
What I have deep inside of me
I let you go, I let it be
Thanks to you, I am now free.....

*********

so whatya think?? Just made that up now, just to kind of 'bump' my thread hehe...
