Default Laieesha's poems for the brokenhearted

Hey y'alls! I used to write poetry, but it was a thousand years ago. Somehow, I lost the will (or time) to write, or maybe my muse left me. Either way, inspiration left me, but hopefully will come back. I'll post the ones that I did manage to write, in those short years of inspiration. This first one is one of my favorites.

*************

The Tree
Across the street, there was this great big tree,
When I drove to work, I would always see.
I had been watching it since last summer,
And I saw all the things that happened there.

In the spring I saw it bloom
From the window, in my room.
I saw the leaves, all green and bright
Truly, it was a very lovely sight!

Summer came, and the leaves were dancing
To the song of the wind, which I thought was long lasting.
And then at night, the leaves would rest.
I really thought it was the best.

But autumn came, and then it started
All those green leaves turned red.
The leaves left that tree down yonder.
They left, to stay on the ground forever.

The sad winter then came along.
That poor tree, so coldly, stood alone.
No leaves, no flowers, no birds, no songs,
And I wished that spring would soon come along.

One day I woke to find the big tree gone!
I looked and I asked, they've cut it down!
Oh, how I miss that great big tree.
It reminded me of you... before leaving me...

************

So what you guys think??

Acrostics!!! . The first one is very nice. Like, pleasant, and fun to read. Makes me happy...and the second one, well...yeah, I feel you. And yeah, I won't ever say that again, but you know what I mean.

Ok, here's one I made today. I was bored at work, and I thought I'd give acrostics another try. It sucks, because I did it in between stuff I'm doing here at work. Oh, and I needed an extra line for it to work, so the first letter of the last line doesn't really count

*******

I really don’t know just how I can
Love someone, from afar, like this man.
One day, I’m wishing that you would be
Veering your attention towards me.
Every night I dream of you
On my side, with you loving me too.
Loneliness deep inside my heart
Is eminent knowing we’re so far apart.
Various feelings I need to sort out
Everytime I think, I just want to shout!
Read my thoughts, feel my heart
Please tell me where to start.
How can I let my feelings go?
Each thought of you haunts me so.
Love me, please, love me dear
Please know that I am always here.
Someday, I wish you could see
Just how much you mean to me…

********

It's really stupid... but I'm not really that good with writing to start with... I think I'm better at editing things, rather than writing...

Ha ha no that reminds me of my Fanaticism I mean it's just like it. I didn't say outright that it was about Billie Joe Armstrong, but that's how I am. It's sad, really...he's 19 friggin years older than me and 2000 miles away (his home, anyway - on Saturday he was within 50 miles...). And that's really cool. And I understand what you mean about being better at editing...I often feel that way myself. But I can tell you that from where I'm standing it's not true. For you, I mean. I've got so many poems running right now that I just never got to finishing...I wonder if I should post them just to see what the reaction would be....But yeah, your poems are fun to read and make me smile. Keep writing...

My Addiction

This thing was all around
But it was something I'd never do
Or so I thought, but then
I was sucked into doing it too.

It was all around me,
I couldn't escape it.
I tried to deny it, but
A friend pushed me into it.

So the first time I tried,
I was home alone.
I locked the door, and waited
For "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone"

I watched it, unblinking
From beginning to the end
When finished, I thought
I just found a new friend.

I watched the second one,
Addiction getting bigger.
I watched both movies back to back
I needed something stronger.

After watching the movies,
I decided to buy the books.
I read them once, twice, many times
Since then, I've been hooked!

Now I'm waiting for Half Blood Prince
Why is it taking so freaking long??
And that, my friends, is my story
The story of my new addiction...

A little lighter poem I just kinda made up right now. Yeah, a bit bored here at work...

Edit: I just noticed that I left the last verse out... so added it in..

Talking

loved the poem that just poped-out in your mind made me remember of myself, trapped in my beliefs...

the 'My Addiction' made me giggle then made me laugh because of this:

yeah, that poem can be about many things. I think a lot of people feel trapped and just wanna break free. Whether it's beliefs, relationships, or just life in general, people feel that way. I sent it to my coworkers and told them that's how I felt when I was at work! They forwarded it to the manager, and she just laughed!

Yep that's what Harry Potter does to ya. You hate it then it just sort of sucks you in....that's the best kind of love, because then you know you're not kidding. . And good poem.

Yeah me too! Well, it's not like I write anything down. I just start typing and it just flows. But lately, I'm having some issues with my boyfriend *sigh*... So my mind is a bit preoccupied lately.... Oh, maybe I'll use that to make another poem... hhmm...

Yeah, 7 years na kami naglolokohan! (we've been kidding ourselves for 7 years) Well, hopefully, when I'm not too emotional, I'll write another poem. That's WHEN I find the time. But thanks Eliza!
