Glittering World
The world makes the sound,
Of that of which, we must not hear
And hushes that, which has been already broken
For fear perhaps, of the unknown
So people go about
Forgetting others' pains
Ignoring the social need for touch
Fulfilling no desire
But I wish it was all a ruse
Then it would hold up to nothing more
Yet I know, it is all a game
When we pretend everything is okay
So we mask our fears
And we go out the door
Into this glittering world
Into the unreal, the fake, the broken |

Wretched Routine
As I stumble out of bed
On that groggy and unforgiving morning,
I crawl under my sheets
And pull myself up.
"Am I awake yet?", I wonder
As I creep into the cold bathroom,
And I feel it, like a gravitational force,
And I know it is pulling me like no other,
Like a pupetteer,
As it moves swiftly across the room.
And I find myself in a familiar situation
Cringing as my warm feet touch its cold surface
That.. wretched, metallic surface.
So, I close my eyes in pain
Wondering as I lunge forward,
If I made the right choice..
Anxiously waiting, I have to open one eye
And see my feet holding me up,
I see the numbers rotating,
And feel the world stop to gaze.
I gasp and beg,
I anxiously try to hold my tears inside,
"Please.. oh please!", I cry again,
"Just this once.. Just one more" | |

Dealing with their loss
Suddenly, I find myself reflecting on life and death
I wonder not about what happens, but about the pain both cause
I wonder how could I stop it, when I care so much
I wonder how could I do anything, when I am so weak
And I can't help but wonder, how many more will die
How many more I will see
How much more I can take
But at such loss for words
I find myself thinking about how numb I feel
How I can't cry anymore
Because nothing is left
It happened about 3 years ago, but it feels like today
She died because of me
I know I didn't push her, I know I didn't force her, I know I tried my best
But I can't stop feeling it was because of me
Because I didn't stop
Because neither did she
Because I'm not stopping
Because I never will
Simply because I'll never go to therapy
Because I will never open up to them
Simply because I'll never be sick enough
Sometimes I wish I could kill that voice inside my head
But I know I won't because I can't bear living without it
Because somehow, I don't possess that inner strength
Of throwing myself down the abyss | |

Shades of Yellow
It starts in the morning
When everything's fresh
It jumps in the evening
When anything's crushed
If its the same color
Then why does it change?
From a sunflower yellow
To a diluted watery red?
The answer is a riddle
Just like the rest
That will never be answered
Because I'm too afraid
But perhaps you can answer it
Because I never will
A mediocre answer that is never complete
Because the question is caged away
But is still very yellow
Like a sitting tea kettle
But it is not quite that bright
