“Terrified and Cold”

Here I lie in my cold dark cell
Numb, and drained of energy
I am tired of feeling angry
Bitterness churns inside me
Everyday spent here alone is night
There is no cheer and no light
In my soul
I am terrified and cold
Alienated from the rest of the world
No longer what I used to be
Dreams of the dark lord haunt me
Leering death eaters mock me
Responsibility,
The weight of the world on my shoulders
How will… how can I,
A 15 year old boy
Defeat Voldemort?
One by one friends and family fade
Will Ron or Hermione be next, dead?
Every lost life
Stabs like a thousand knives
Like a dark cloud descending
Guilt stayed, never leaving
Will there ever be a silver lining?
