Apparently Waylan was living in fantasy land again. He tended to do that. "Our Professors didn't actually deal with us. They gave us detention." Which was usually when they came up with their ideas for mischief. Oliver was still surprised that they had never been suspended. "Speaking of detention, we'll be the ones giving it this time." Hehe. Oh he had some rather imaginative deas for punishment.

He gave Waylan a light punch in the arm. "You know Seren Bentley is also a Professor at Hogwarts?" Oliver grinned at his friend. "I remember when you had the hots for her."

His friend's look caused him to smirk. "Hawaii of course, the Cayman Islands, the Cook Islands and the Maldives." Oliver leaned up against one of the shelves and folded his arms across his chest. "Man, the waves were cranking and the women..." He made an outline with his hands to depict a woman with nice curves and he tossed Waylan a wink. "Well they were cranking too! You need to come with me some time." If this teaching gig didn't work out then he might consider going back to professional surfing.

Did Oliver seriously consider those things the Professors gave them back at Hogwarts a detention? That was merely free time to Waylon! And half the time they would all just agitate whichever Professor so much that they would just send them on their way. Good times, indeed. "You give anyone a detention, you send them to my hut and make them pick the weeds for me, okay?" He could get all the bad little kids to do the work he was supposed to do.

This job was a piece of cake, like he had said!

The punch to his arm, just like the manly slap on his shoulder was unexpected, but what was even more unexpected was that Oliver mentioned Seren Bentley. And how she was a Professor at Hogwarts. And how he had the hots for her! Waylon thought his friend forgot about that! He shook his head, trying to hide his obvious embarrassment. "How many times do I have to tell you? It was just the Herbology I was in to." Which was the second lie he had told in the last fifteen minutes.

And it seemed Oliver had gotten around over the summer. Not just traveling wise. An amused grin made its way onto Waylon's face and he gave a nod of his head. Sure, he would go. Only for the waves, of course. Anyway.. "You getting anything from here?"

Waylon seemed to forget why he was even there.

"What? And miss all the fun of watching some kid shine my shoes and press my robes." Hehe, muggle style. And that was only a taste of the things he was going to get the students to do. "But I might throw a few kids your way." They might even be able to do a joint one. "Will, has apparently got plans for you and him to get acquainted with the giant squid." No dount Waylan would love that. His friends could be so weird at times.

Waylan Murdoch was the wordt liar ever. Must be the Hufflepuff in him. Oliver couldn't understand why he would deny it. For one, it had been years ago and two, Oliver had seen the look on his friend's face every time the girl walked passed. A bit like watching William drooling over Natasha Schirmer. "You can lie to yourself Murdoch, but you cannot lie to me. You know that I will embarrass the crap out of you if you don't admit to it."

Oliver swept his gaze over the shelves and shook his head. "Nah...I've already got most of the stuff in here." And none of that stuff was very useful. "We should probably head off soon, the train will be halfway to Hogwarts by now."

Oliver was not serious, was he?

Waylon raised his eyebrows, but merely shook his head. He was sure they all would have more entertainment watching the kids pick the weeds. Especially if Will let him borrow some of his creatures. Although, he doubted that would happen. The guy was really overprotective over them. His eyes widened just a tad at the mention of getting acquainted with the giant squid, and he was all for that, really, he was, but.. "That thing is still alive?"

It was so old when they all went to Hogwarts!

Again, he should have realized that Oliver was going to know he was lying. He was never good at lying, and apparently he wasn't good at hiding, as Oliver said, who he had the hots for. But he couldn't help himself! Serene was so Serene! And she liked to get her hands dirty..with..dirt. Yeah. Waylon rolled his eyes. "I could embarrass you just as easily. Does Althea Schirmer know how you used to follow her around the castle? What was she, six years older than you?" Or four years, he couldn't quite remember.

He glanced around the shop one last time, and not seeing anything he needed, he was purposely forgetting those Remembralls now, he didn't want Oliver to see that he still needed them, he backtracked and began heading towards the exit. "I guess the next time I see you, we'll be sitting at the staff table at Hogwarts." How very weird.

Yeah Waylan was excited about meeting the squid. He and William were cast from the same egg, he was sure of it. Oliver shrugged his shoulders. "According to William, but maybe it's one of its offspring." How the hell was he supposed to know? Magical creatures were not his thing.

Aww man! Waylan had noticed his crush on Althea. He hadn't realised that his friend noticed things like that. "Four years." he corrected his friend. "And dude, I was thirteen. That doesn't count." He had been a child unlike some people.

Making his way to the exit after Waylan, Oliver chuckled a little. "Aww you don't want to apparate with me? I promise not to get you splinched this time." That had totally been an accident.

No, no, no.

Waylon shook his head quite a few times. He did not think for one second that the giant squid would have an offspring. That would mean that there was another giant squid, a female giant squid in the lake, and surely they would have seen it before. But, not wanting to get into the whole squid reproduction cycle with Oliver, he simply said nothing more about it. If Oliver really wanted to know, though, Waylon would send him right off to William. He was the Creatures Professor now.

HA! He didn't think he would notice that, did he? Sure, Waylon may be forgetful at times, and yes, he didn't pay too much attention to things, but how could he miss Oliver chasing after Althea? He laughed, "It does too count! And it just makes the whole thing that much more embarrassing, for YOU, because you were that young." Bwaha, good times.

Stopping right in his tracks, Waylon used his left had to rub at his right wrist at the mention of apparating and splinching. Did Oliver think he was honestly going to trust him with that? Again!? Waylon clearly remembered his friend telling him, right before he got him splinched the first time, that nothing was going to go wrong. And what happened? He had lost his hand. His right, and very important hand! "No." he said, and waiting for his friend to catch up to him, he raised his right hand and shook it next to Oliver's ear. "Hear that clicking sound when I move it? It's never going to be the same thanks to you." He'd get to Hogwarts on his own. And in one piece.

"Oh shut up Waylan." His friend had no idea what he was talking about. Oliver knew nothing was ever going to happen between Althea and himself. She had been in a whole different league. "You wait until I see Bentley." His friend was going down!

Oliver rolled his eyes and pushed Waylan's hand away from his ear. "Well dude, when I tell you to hold on then you really need to listen." Of course he would get the blame for it. He always got the blame.

Giving his friend another punch in the arm, Oliver sauntered off. "See ya at the feast."

Bwahaha!!

Waylon burst out laughing at Oliver, but it stopped suddenly once his friend mentioned Serene. Again! His eyes narrowed slightly, and he just stared. Oliver wouldn't dare! Okay, Waylon knew that he would, which was why, at the opening feast, he was going to make sure Oliver couldn't say anything. Because it would be just like him to blab his mouth away when there were a thousand other people in the room.

Shrugging his shoulders, Waylon stuffed his hands into his pockets, and did his best to ignore what Oliver was saying. Probably the reason why he was splinched in the first place, ignoring him, but still. He was going to put all the blame on his friend.

"Yeah, yeah. See you at the feast." Waiting until Oliver was out of the shop and out of sight, Waylon rushed over to the Remembralls, and picking up the whole box, he purchased them before making his own way out of the shop.

Ben liked this shop.

He really did.

He liked coming in here and just looking at some of the little stuff that he could just play with to work for his advantage. He tries to pop in there once a month just to see if there's any new stuff, and he always buys something. During the summer he has to petrol Diagon Alley, but it's finally September and Benjamin Amsten can finally buy his dumb stuff again.

What to get... what to get....

Gemini, with Aries attached to her hip as always, was straightening shelves. Things had died down a lot around the Alley since the children had all gone back to school. Not that it mattered much to her, business always picked up again and this lull gave her more time to spend with her son.

She turned at the sound of the bell that signaled someone had walked inside, and smiled at the man, "Is there anything I can help you with, sir?" In the mean time, Aries was helping himself to a fistful of mommy's hair.

Stuff, Stuff, lots of Stuff. Oh, hello!

Ben smiled at the woman... and her.... kid.... and fixed his tie. He had just come from the Ministry and thought he'd stop buy before heading home. Don't worry about the kid. "Yes, please. I was wondering about the telescopes. Are just telescope lenses available?"

Now that's an interesting request, ain't it? Ben thought his magic glasses could use an astronomical setting. He hoped she asked him why, he liked showing off.

Hehe.

Roxanne couldn't remember ever having stepped foot in this shop before. Never. Not even in her Hogwarts days. Oh well, first time for everything, right? She browsed the shelves, stopping whenever something caught her eye.

Oh hey now, what's this? She pulled a box off the shelf, examining the packaging. Self Shuffling Playing Cards. Well, that could be useful… She had never been very good at shuffling cards. They usually ended up all over the table and floor whenever she tried. She smiled, thinking of how irritated her friends always got at that. Yep, good times.

Riley had just been making his way down the grand staircase that led up to the hostel area, when he spotted a woman. A CUSTOMER, of course. Unless she'd only come to see him, which wasn't THAT far fetched. He was rather handsome.

"Anything I can help you with, miss?" He smiled as he walked towards her.

Roxanne looked up at the sound of his voice, keeping the smile on her face. "Yes, actually you can. How much for these Self Shuffling Cards?" she asked, holding up the box. Not that it mattered since she was buying them anyway. Still, nice to know these things ahead of time.

Riley reached out and plucked the small box from the woman's hand. He grinned and turned it over to point out a little price tag at the bottom, "Nine Sickles."

See? She MUST have come to talk to him.

It had been years since Cece had been in this shop. So many in fact she couldn't remember the last time she had been there. Sometime back when she was a student was all she could remember. She had really never had a reason to come here since graduation, you know since she had been living in Sweden until she started working at Hogwarts. However now she did have a very handsome reason.

Feeling that the note from Riley was still in her pocket she slowly walked around the shop looking at all the different things displayed. She was sure she would be able to find something of interest other than the handsome shopkeeper that she could cash in that discount on.

He heard the tinkle of the bells at the door heralding another customer, and Riley lifted his eyes to see who had entered.

Ah. It was the lovely Cece. It seemed that today was Riley Logan Newcomb's lucky, lucky day.

He winked at the woman who had been asking about the cards, "Do let me know if you need any other help, miss." Heh. If he had a hat on, he would have tipped it at her, but he didn't, so he simply stepped away and left the woman to her shopping.

"Find what you're looking for, miss?" He spoke, coming around the corner to stop in the same aisle that Cece was in. "There's a sale on crystal balls this week." You know, just in case she needed to peek into her future.

Cece was standing there in the transportation aisle contemplating on floo powder or portkeys. Normally she would just apparate but there were those occasional times when other forms of transportation were called for.

Looking up at the sound of someone asking if she found what she was looking for she smiled. "I have now." Okay, so maybe she didn't really come here to look for floo powder or portkeys. "I don't think I'll be needing a crystal ball today." No, she was pretty sure she knew what her future held for her.

Riley gave his special winning smile at the lovely woman. "Well, good thing I came over here then, hmm?" She was looking for HIM? Of course she was. Of course. Heh.

"What about a lovely set of Wizard's Chess or a shiny hourglass?" Wink. "Or, perhaps you'd be more interested in a lunch date with the shopkeeper."

Just suggesting, being a good helper and all.

Aww, look at that smile. It was exactly as she remembered it. Adorable. "Yes, a very good thing." Or else she'd still be standing there looking at the floo powder... which she really didn't need.

And now he was suggesting other things for her to buy. Aww, was he really only interested in making a sale here?

Ooh, a wink. And a date offer. Okay, so maybe he was interested in more than just a sale. Feeling her cheeks start to flush just a tiny bit Cece flashed her own charming smile. "A lunch date... with you? I'll have to think about that one."

What? There's nothing wrong with a girl playing a little hard to get.

THINK? Hmm. Riley shook his head at that, "What's there to think about, hmm? Or, are you just thinking about what sort of food you want?" Heh. You knoooow. Where they could go?

"Well then miss." He grinned again, "When you're done with that thinking of yours, you'll know where to find me." With a small salute, the man turned and started walking slowly away, facing shelves and mostly wasting time until she made her choice.

He started to whistle.

Hydra walked into Wiseacres and headed straight for the shelved and looked didn't really need to look on her list because all she needed from here is a telescope and a magical trunk once Hydra had collected the two items she needed she walked over to the counter then heaved the tunk onto the desk and placed the telescope on top.

From the busy street, Vickers pushed the door open into the shop, eager to leave the hustle and bustle of the crowds behind him. As he made his way further into the shop, he started to brighten up as he eyed the different items on display. He reached out for a magical camera then peered into the view finder....

Genevieve Branxton had hoped to find Aspen on her visit to Diagon today, but she hadn't yet run into the girl. Sigh. After lurking and avoiding as many of the ickle studentsies as possible, she finally ducked into Wiseacre in search of a peace offering for her little brother.

And now there was some slow poke standing in her way. "Unless you plan on buying an invisibility cloak, I suggest you move it. I can't see the shelves."

When the door opened, Vickers shifted to turn the camera towards it, training the view finder to focus on the girl that just walked in. Then she was looking straight at him... which got him to smile behind the camera. Until she called him slowpoke.

He straightened up clearly flustered "Uhm... s-sorry?" he mumbled, pinning himself against the opposite shelf and stared at the camera that still dangled awkwardly in his hand. Was it nerves or perhaps the trick of the magical item because the next thing that happened....

*FLASH*

.... the camera went off on the girl.
