Default WWW Questions

This thread is meant for any & all questions regarding the Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes (WWW) forum of games. A FAQ is included below. Please read through these questions before posting here so as to make sure that your question is not on the list. One of the WWW moderators will post a reply to your question as soon as possible.

Please post only relevant questions in this thread.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. I have an idea for a great game! How do I post it?
Click the New Thread button at the top of the forum. In the post box write an explanation of what your game is, how it is played and what the rules are, then click on the Submit New Thread button. If your game is approved by the WWW staff, it will appear in the forum list with all the other games.

2. Why can’t I see the game thread that I submitted?
Game submissions need to be approved by the moderators before they appear in the WWW forum.

3. How long does it take for a game to be approved?
Generally a couple of days, but it can take up to one week for games to be reviewed/approved.

4. What happens if my game isn’t approved?
It won't appear in the WWW forum. (Note: You will not be notified if your game is not approved.)

5. Why wasn't my game approved?
We only approve games that are creative and new. It could be that there is already a similar game in the forum. You should check the current List of Games before submitting one of your own.

6. Where can I find the rules for each game?
They should be clearly stated and outlined in the first sticky post of each game thread.

7. I started a game in here and now I can't find it. Where did it go?
Games that have been inactive for more than three months are deleted.

8. Why was my post deleted?
Most likely, you weren't following the rules of the game you posted in. Posts unrelated to a game (i.e., chatting, smilies only, answering, "I don't know" etc.) will be removed, as well as those posts that go against the general site rules. Make sure you read the first post in a game thread so you understand the rules.

9. I have a question. Who can I ask about it?
You can post your question in this thread, or you can PM one of the WWW mods.

10. What do I do if I see a member not following the rules of a game?
Contact a WWW mod via PM and we'll take care of the problem.

11. Who are the WWW mods?
The mods for the games forum are listed at the bottom right of the WWW forum in the Moderators Box.

What do you consider a good Zonko's post? A short, witty answer or a long essay?
A good WWW post follows the WWW rules (and the general site rules), does not consist of SPAM in any capacity (merely smilies, numbers, chatting, etc.) and would basically answer the requirements of the game it is posted in. A good WWW post would be a good game post; if the player does not know how to play the game, i.e. answer a question, he/she would observe previous sequences of the game or observe others’ answers which are correct. An ‘I don’t know’ or an incomplete post does not a good WWW post make.

That being said, the purpose of this forum is to allow members to play games and enjoy themselves. There are no guidelines for the content of the post, as long as it follows all the rules (nobody’s post is required to be ‘witty’), or as to the length of the post, granted it isn’t too short (no ‘essays’ required).

As long as members play by the rules, and respect the basic requirements that we have in WWW so as to ensure a fun and safe game environment for all, all their posts are good WWW posts.

Is there a reason why some threads have category codes while others don't?

Not really. Sometimes we forget to put in the category when making a new thread, but it's fixed now.
