" Thats okay. we don't mind owls.' Talen said with a laugh as James went over to the kitchen. he looked to see what they had in the fridgerator. before he set to cooking.

Alex smiled and watched as James wen into the kitchen. "Does he know that I don't eat that much even when I'm hungry?" Alex asked Talen, she didn't want his brother to make too much food for her when she probably wouldn't be able to finish it all.

Talen nodded." Thats okay. " Talen said " I'm pretty hungry myself."Talen said

Alex nodded and looked at her surrounding. "This is a nice house though and the view outside is amazing."

"thanks." James called from the counter where he had magiced some cutlery to chop veggtables as he heated a medium sized stock pot on the stove. using he wand he magickedthe veggies and somemeat into the boiling pot to cook. " Hope you like Lancashire Hotpot." he added.

Alex smiled. "I do actually, there's not many things I don't eat, well until it comes to sweets." She laughed softly.

Once the stew was finally finished he took 3 bowls from the cupboard and scooped some stew into each. " it's done," he asid calling them toget their food.

Alex looked at James, wondering for a second why a house elf wasn't bringing the food before she realized he didn't have one. Mentally kicking herself, she walked into the kitchen and picked up on of the three bowls, the one with the littlest amount of food. "Thanks James, I really can't thank you enough." She said to him.

" Your welcome Alex. there's no need for all that. As long as your here just treat it as home. " He said to her.

" yeah its always open season on the fridge. when ever your hungry." Talen said playfully. " Tomorrow while James is at work I'll show you around town you'll love it i think."

" There area few rules considering Alex is underage though Talen." James said seriously.

" RULES!? I thought we left those at school." Talen crossed his arms an pretended to pout.

James laughed at his brother " That hasn't worked since you were six years old TY,"
Talen gain a lplayfully shrug and grinned at Alex " Hey it was worth a shot..." he looked back at his brother who looked like he was trying to stay serious.

" OKAY Okay. the rules..." talen said leaning back in his seat.

"well aside from the law of underage use of magic." He looked at Talen.

" what are you looking at me for I'm 17 now." talen replied to the look.
"If you want to go off somewhere just let someone know or leave a note so we don't worry, and be back at a decent hour. and no matter what Talen thinks .." James looked DIRECTLY at him. " three AM is NOT considered a decent hour."

Talen faked shock " you make me sound like a bad influence."

Alex watched as the boys argued and she couldn't help but laugh. "I'll abide by any rules you give me, it's the least I can do since you're allowing me to stay here." She said inbetween laughters. She looked from Talen to James and back again. "Er, Talen, you're not a bad influence on me, you saw how I could be with people I hate." She said, remembering the near muggle duel she had near the end of the school year.

Talen laughed " Thats true.... so what part of town do you want to see first tomorrow."

Alex shrugged. "I don't know, I've never been to Portloe before. What is there that's around here?"

" Uhhh... boat docks... more boat docks, fish markets, even more boat docks, the beach oh and water obviously. there is a few shops down on the strip and Darings Park." Talen said.

Alex laughed. "Hm, seems filled with boat docks. What's Darings Park?" She asked, she had never heard of the place before and pictured a place full of trees and benches.

" It's a muggle amusement park. with all sorts of theme rides and rollercoasters.." talen said "you ever been to one?"

james shook his head with a laugh as he stood and picked up his bowl and carried it to the sink

Alex forced down the last bite of her food, she was already full, stupid father underfeeding her. She listened to Talen as he told her Darings Park was an amusement park. "Really, yeah I've been to one, my mother would take me and my father all the time when I was younger." She said as she followed James and carried it to the sink to wash it. "They are fun to go to, maybe we can go tomorrow, if you want." She hadn't been to one in years and she definately missed going on the rollercoasters, those were her favorite. She washed and dried her bowl and placed it back in the cabinet before going back to sit at the table. "That was really delicious James."

" Thanks." James said " well as much as it pains me I hope you have fun t darings park while I go to work." James said he had never been one for riding things that spun you in circles til you threw up. he pushed that experience from his mind.

" Yeah right. " Talen said "james don't like to rides." he explained.

" and whose fault is that." james asked.

" it was an accident." Talen looked at Alex " really it was. I wanted to ride the spinning cups "

" He threw a temper tantrum." james added. " A big one."

" I did not!"

" he did." James laughed.

" Whose telling this?" Talen asked.

" Oh right but your leaving out important factors."

" hush..." talen said " where was I..."

" your temper tantrum."

" right my... dang it james stop it,I didnt through a tantrum. anyhow mum made him take me on it."

" Because of his tantrum," james added with a laugh. talen ignored him and continued.

I wanted it to go faster and the more i thought bout it the faster it went I was littleand didnt realize i as accidently using magic to make it go, james was yelling for it to stop.before we got off of it he got sick."

Alex was laughing so hard tears were forming at the corner of her eyes. watching the two brothers argue was fun to watch. "Aw, poor James, weak stomach?" She asked out loud but then leaned closer to Talen. "Isn't he supposed to be a man and be tough with those sort of things?" She whispered to him and laughed as she sat up straight.

james laughed we were kids. and well i havnt gotten overit so i dont ride much." He said.

"It's alright, I lot of people probably went throught the same thing." Alex said to him, though he was the only one she knew that that happened to.

" A lot ofpeopledont have a smaller brothr using magic to make it spin 20 times faster than its built to either," james said seriously even though he ws smiling.
" and I still say that was the best ride ever." talen add.
" you would" James commented back with a yawn.

Alex laughed as the brothers continued going at it. "You know, this is what a family really is like, I forgot how happy a family should be." She said to them as James yawned. "Oh, are you tired?"

" Just a bit.. it was a long day at work, mostly paperwork,then ther was the giant roaches and te pest control unit had to infiltrate the office." James said making it sound a lotmore interesting that it would normally have.

Alex looked at him shocked, giant roaches, that was something she didn't want anything to do with. "Wow, busy day. Talen said you worked in the Centaur division though, what were the roaches doing there?"

"not sure they possibly got into a a growth potion, at least thats my theory. Working in the beast division you tend to come across all sorts of creatures..
