Umm, well it's pretty much the same, here. The men go to the mosque, the women dress up in PRETTY, NEW CLOTHES. <3 The sacrifice isn't always done on the first day ... a lot of people do it on the second, and a few on the third though the first two days are preferred. We visit friends and relatives, have fun, stuff like that. ^^
But YES! The night before Eid is SO gorgeous. There are so many lights, and lots of things on sale. Like new clothes and bangles and henna. Henna = a tradition. Girls and women have it applied on their hands [and sometimes on their feet] a day or two before Eid. Or on one of the three Eid days. I love bangles and henna! They make my day, every time.

Well, gold is VERY popular here. But I love silver! I love its sheen, and most of my imitations are done in shades of sheer gold and silver, too.
I once bought Henna which was ... silver, as well! =DD That was a fun Eid, because I messed with purple, golden, silver, blue and so many other shades of the thing! My hands looked so colourful! =DD
