Do house elves have families? Like, could you picture a family portrait of Dobby, proudly donning a Christmas jumper, with his arm around a still bloodshot-eyed but recovering Winky? And Winky holding a tiny baby house elf? About the size of a baguette?

Aww that's a cute image in my head right now, all the elfs gathered around the Christmas tree, Winky smiling happily as she holds her little baguette baby in her arms.

The wizards most likely don't have occasions, like funerals, for house elves, but perhaps elves do. I suppose elf families have very strong values and beliefs. Do you remember Winky crying about what her mother and her mother's mother would think about her being set free? And how her whole family had worked for the Crouches?

Yep, because being able to serve a family is they're ultimate achievement (if you can call it that) ...however Dobby was extremely happy about it, of course, it might depend on the family you work for..

Like on Grimmauld Place? I always wondered why they kept the heads like that *gets goosebumps* it might be because of it, to show the whole house-elves lineage that has worked for them..

They were probably huge families, If they got to be an Army, they'll be probably the winners of whatever they fought for..

Awe speaking about house elves makes me want to see a house elf family! How cute that must be to have a mother, father and baby house elves. I wonder how house elves meet each other outside of places like Hogwarts? Do families introduce them? hmmm...yet another interesting discussion to be had!
