House Elf day care? I can just imagine the little things running around hitting and biting one another, just like another group of little ones I know. I love it!!

I think it's like the wizards...you're born with it, but it requires certain training for the magic to work at its fullest......and correctly, of course.

Hmmm...They use magic for it, but they still need to know the basics, otherwise they wouldn't know the steps of how to cook roast duck...

If you had to choose ... being a house elf for a family like the Malfoys or being a house elf like Winky, post-Crouch?

Oh gosh, though choice. I'd never want to work for someone like the Malfoys but post-crouch ... hm ... oh dear, I think I'd go with being a house elf for the Malfoys who says I'd be like dobby was and be mistreated? I'd stick up for myself. The Malfoy's love being treated with dignity and respect and love challenges. I'd give them a challenge by being the non-typical HE, you know, not haing dinner done at all, burning Lucius's shirts. Oh I'd have fun

I'd rather be post-Crouch. Work for the Malfoys? Yuuck. Post-Crouch misery or not, I'd still be free

Wow. You have to be tough, don't you Cait? I do like Kerry's idea of working for Hogwarts, but that wasn't an option in the question... =P although personally I'd find working for one of those Weasleys to be more rewarding.
Given the choices though, I think that I would rather work for the Malfoys, because like Ari said, it would be more of a challenge. Be stubborn and flourishing like them, and who knows what could happen.
