Jordan Woodrow Magical Games & Sports | Dear Dobby,
One of my HE’s gave me a list of questions for you.
1--Why is it better to have round manhole covers than square ones?
2--A set of three light switches are located in the first floor of a building. Only one of them turns on a light on the second floor. The other two switches do nothing. If you can only go up the stairs one time, and you can't see the second floor light from the first floor, how can you be sure which switch turns on the second floor light?
3-- What gets wetter and wetter the more it dries?
4--You throw away the outside and cook the inside. Then you eat the outside and throw away the inside. What did you eat?
Thanks for your help Dobby. |

Thanks for your help Dobby. | Dobby says:
1. Manholes, which interconnect underground sewerage pipes, and serve as a point of entry for cleaning the pipes, are located at every major sewer pipe junction, and are capped with round manhole covers. The reason for the circular construction of these covers is, quite simply, that covers of any other shape would fall through the manholes by virtue of their varying diameters. Circular manhole covers do not vary in width, or in diameter, as is the case with these other shapes, thus remaining in place despite the street traffic running roughshod over them.
Manufacturers craft the manhole covers together with the smaller sized lip, upon which they rest, at the same time to ensure a tightly sealed fit. Additionally, the manufacture of circular manhole covers is easier and more accurate than the manufacture of covers of any other shape. Lastly, round manhole covers, once removed, require less lifting and less manpower, as their shape allows them to be rolled.
2.Dobby smiles cleverly and says turn on the first switch and wait five minutes. Turn off the first switch, turn on the second switch, and run up the stairs. If the light is on, it's the second switch. If the light is off but hot to the touch, it's the first switch. If the light is off and cool, it's the third switch.
3. A towel!
4. .... Corn on the cob!
Dobby enjoys your questions! |

Sometimes Dobby can't sleep eother and takes a nice long hot bubble bath, light some candles, play some soft music and drink some chamomile tea. After that Dobby is very relaxed and sleeps like a baby.
Dobby wishes you sweet dreams. Quote:

Chocochip chip miffin recipe is family secret, but since you are part of HEFC Dobbythinks you are family. Chocolate Chip Muffins
What you need:
Muffin tin: either a 12-muffin tin or two six-muffin tins
Bowl for mixing
1 egg
2 cups Bisquick, Jiffy, or other biscuit baking mix
1/4 cup sugar
2/3 cup milk
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup chocolate chips
Nonstick spray or paper baking cups
High Altitude: 2 tablespoons of flour
How to make it:
Preheat oven to 400° F.
Grease the bottoms of the muffin cups, or line them with paper baking cups.
Break the egg into the bowl, and beat it slightly.
Add the biscuit baking mix, sugar, milk and vegetable oil, and stir until the mixture is moistened and looks like muffin batter. High altitude: if you live at 3,500-6,500 feet, you also need to add stir two tablespoons of flour into the muffin mix.
Fold in the chocolate chips: this means that you sprinkle a little in, stir that into the mixture, then sprinkle a little more, and stir again until you've stirred in all the chocolate chips. DON'T ADD EXTRA CHOCOLATE CHIPS! I know it's tempting, but I tried it and it just makes a mess -- then you can't get the muffins out of the baking tin.
Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups.
Bake until golden brown; it will take about 15-18 minutes.
Take the muffin tins out of the oven using pot holders.
When the muffins come out of the oven, use a dull butter knife around the edges to separate them from the muffin tin, then take them out.
Be careful, they're hot! Serve and enjoy!
Don't forget to share with Dobby!

Elizabeth Laurent Diagon Alley | Dear Dobby,
I need an easier way to come across money. I've been working 60 hours a week and wearing myself thin. I hardly even see my poor house elf anymore. I'm surprised she hasn't disowned me for being a terrible master. Do you have any ideas on how to make money fast, I sure could use them, and perhaps a vacation, too!
P.S.
If the idea works ... I'm taking you on vacation with me! You're hard work will be well rewarded! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Aurora Kali Rissa Third | Dearest dobby,
I have a few riddles for you.
1. I am taken from a mine, and shut up in a wooden case, from which I am never released, and yet I am used by almost everybody.
2. What goes round the house and in the house but never touches the house?
3. What is it that you can keep after giving it to someone else?
4. What walks all day on its head?
5. What gets wet when drying?
6. What comes once in a minute, twice in a moment, but never in a thousand years? |

Elijah Wright Department of Mysteries | Dear Dobby,
I'm massively in love with this one fan club ... called the House Elf Fan Club , yet I've been absent from it frequently, due to real-life issues. I'm afraid that the members are going to think that I'm a bad Co-Pressie. What can I do to fix this? I feel awful.

Thank you so much for the muffin! They taste just as good as Dobby's!
Dobby knows how it feels to have a room sparkling clean only to have someone mess it up right after However, Dobby has come to accept that while witches tend to keep things fairly clean, wizards are genetically inclined to: remove anything that might look like it belongs someplace, track dirt on a clean floor so they may follow their tracks and navigate the kitchen successfully, ( a clean floor tends to confuse them on which way to go so they end up traveling in endless circles),they also feel they must leave water rings on the coffee table or they will forget where to put their drink,(apparently they think that coasters are miniture frisbees and use them to throw at their buddies to make a point) Anyways, Dobby feels your pain and though it is unfair, we must accept that we are part of a neverending viscious cycle of clean vs mess.
Dobby wishes you the best of luck! Quote:

Dobby thinks that mistress Caitlin worries too much. She should know that she is loved by all and immediately forgiven for any time that she is away from the HEFC. We all know how hectic life can be and will do our best to watch over the club when she must be absent. Dobby thinks mistress Caitlin should also know that the members think she is a wonderful co-pressie and would not have it any other way. There is nothing to fix. Just be here when you can. There is no need to feel awful mistress Caitlin, we all have our own real life issues to deal with at times. What matters most is that you are here now. We missed you! |
