Caroline smiled. Hehe. Wow there was do much food to choose from hot dogs and funnel cakes and everything in between as well as every kind of wizarding sweet known to wizard kind. What did she want besides the cotton candy and this coco-cola? The can was cold like it had been sitting in ice.

She looked up and giggled at Braeden who was already stuffing his face with a cauldron cake. Crumbs were everywhere. He was so cute when he was stuffing his face. She remembered that time in the kitchen the mess of pizza sauce on his face. Ah the memories. She really did have a silly crush on him back then. Or does she still she did get to explore much into that. Carter had pretty much came out of nowhere and swept her off her feet. Wait this was all wrong. She still wanted to get back together with him and besides Braeden was with Emma her friend and cousin. She couldn't be the Marie/Marilyn in their relationship. Could she? Would she?

She was totally zoned out for a minute or two


There was a moment where it was quiet and all she could heard was people talking and the sound of the carnvial music "You didn't lace it with love potion did you?" The eyebrow wiggle made her suspicious. Maybe he didn't. But she did see Destiny around earlier. "Alright bottoms up!" she popped the top off and took a small sip then a chug. WOW this is some good stuff. "Merlin that's tasty!"

Braeden was finishing off his last cauldron cake as he watched Caroline suddenly turn quiet and thoughtful. Oh? What was going on? Did she not like the cotton candy? Had she changed her mind about trying the Coca-Cola? What was wrong?! Brae wasn't sure but, being as paranoid as he could be, he could only assume the worst. He must've done something wrong -- but what?!

"Uh…" the Gryffindork blinked, merely staring at Caroline as she looked off into space thoughtfully. "C--Caroline, is--is everything al--"

But then the girl was speaking again, asking if he'd slipped a love potion into the drink. Startled, Braeden nearly jumped in his seat. What?! Why, he'd never! "Wh-- wha'?! Of course not! That soda's completely, one-hundred percent clean… I swear." He held up his right hand in promise, being naive enough to have taken the girl's playful accusation seriously.

Curiously, Braeden watched as Caroline took a sip from the drink, only to then chug down the rest of it. O_O HOTDAYUM. He gave a lopsided smile. "Liked it, did you?"

Cove smiled. "The boardwalk a few blocks from my house has a year-round carnival. At night the ferris wheel is lit up and it's always so beautiful. They set off fireworks there, during the fourth of July. We watch them from our backyard." There were other special occasions that the Brett's would watch the fireworks from their backyards, but that was the first that came to her mind. "I'm a fifth year Gryffindor. It'll be my second year at Hogwarts next term." Cove said excitedly. She took a sip of her water and smiled at Feenella.

Once it was Nick's turn he smiled at the clerk." Can I have an exploding lemonade and some candyfloss Ooh and some Cotton candy, And.... Umm.." nick scratched his chin as he thought it over. " And a corndog, with mustard, I think thats it." He said. " YEP,Thats all,



Once Nick had his items he headed over to the spot where Harlow was sitting He sat down beside her and offered her some of his candy.

When Caroline had finally snapped out of.... well whatever that was. But was only when Braeden had spoken again that she was back at the carnvial. She shook her head, not really meaning yes that everything was okay. It was merely the fact that her brain felt all fuzzy. Perhaps it was Wrackspurts. "Mmm yeah.... everything is fine. I was just thinking a-about something." She lied.

Caroline couldn't buy to laugh at his reaction. Of course he wouldn't do that. That was so un-Braeden like. Although if he did she could always just save it for later. Right? Nah, she believed him. "I'm kidding." She giggled. She finished off the can. She could have possibly drank that to fast. "Oh yeah, that's the best drink I've ever had. "

Harley was in the midst of taking a bit out of her veggie burger when she heard the familiar voice of her boss shoot like a ping through her body. Not that she didn't like her boss, he was a nice guy underneath all of his issues somewhere way deep down, it was just that she not in the mood to be hit on. "What is that look for?" Ryoma asked with a fake pout on his lips. It wasn't like she was unhappy to see him or anything, right? His presence always brought a smile to a woman's face. Well, almost all women. There was Mizuki who always seemed to explode whenever she saw him - throwing picture frames and all.

Ryoma heard the ding of the register behind him and turned around to see the most AMAZING mountain of cotton candy he had ever seen. It was enough to bring tears to his chocolate eyes.

"I wanted cotton candy," he said with a huge grin on his face.

Her eyes were big and round as she saw the amount of food Nick had bought. "I wonder where you put it all." she said as Nick sat down beside her. He took some of his cotton candy and stuck it into her mouth and giggled as it dissolved on her tongue.

Harley was about to roll her eyes when she saw the look of pure wonder and joy etch across his face at the sight of the cotton candy. Could it be possible that Ryoma could actually be emotionally available to something, even though it was food, but still it was a start. The thought of this made Harley smile broadly as she held fast to her veggie burger. He was NOT a lost cause. She could maybe get inside his head if he would let her. Maybe then she would understand why he acted the way he did with women.

Taking another small bite out of her veggie burger she said to him, "You really love Cotton Candy. Any reason why...?" Baby steps... baby steps.

Nick Shrugged when she asked where he put all his food." my mom asks the same thing all the time." He admitted. " I like food I can't help it." He said as he dipped his corndog in the mustard then took a bite," he half way chewed then spoke again. " So what are you doing off by yourself? I wanted to get away from my brothers they get on my nerves a lot.

She giggled, "Your mom sounds like my mom. My brothers eat all the time. All day. I mean they eat everything. You have to hide food from them." she pointed out. Her brothers were like those muggle vacupush things that sucked up dirt on carpets. "I was going to go to the carnival, but all these tall people." she shuddered. "Scared me," she whispered softly. She hated sounded like the little girl she was.

"What's not to like about it?" he asked as he tore off a peace of the fluffy heaven and popped it into his mouth. "My mother used to always tell me that when you ate cotton candy, it was like you were eating a cloud." He tore of a few more pieces and popped them into his mouth, one after the other, hardly allowing himself any time to chew.

Which really wasn't a good idea as he began to mildly choke on it. Thankfully, cotton candy melted in your mouth and in your hands so it was only a few seconds until he was able to breathe again.

"That, and doesn't it resemble Marshmallow?"

Harley took another small bite off of her veggie burger and started to chew when he began to talk about cotton candy. He started to go on about it being like a cloud and she smiled through her chewing. She had never heard Ryoma speak like that, all girly and fluffy. Her hand covered her mouth and she said, "I didn't know that you could be all cloud nine like that," Harley joked horribly.

She saw him choke for a moment and in shock she dropped her veggie burger and took a few steps to help him. By the time she reached him, a few seconds at the most, he was already under control with his choking and such, "Didn't your mother ever teach you how to chew? You nearly gave me a heart attack."

Okay, so Morrigan may have overdone it on the food buying just a bit. She'd started with a Hawaiian pizza, because her tongue had told her said pizza would be delicious. Then she'd smelled the fish and chips and reasoned she rarely had that, so one order of that had joined her food. Then of course there'd been the funnel cake, and you just couldn't go to a carnival without a funnel cake. Or a corn dog. She couldn't even say that she liked corn dogs, but it was the principle of the thing.

So, there she was; pizza balanced on her left arm, funnel cake balanced on her right forearm and container of fish and chips being held in her right hand, and the stick of the corn dog in her teeth. Now... would be a good time to find a seat.

"You dropped your burger," Ryoma said with a smirk, but it quickly faded with her next words. "My mother did everything right in raising me with the short time she had." It was clear from his body language that he was upset. In addition, he did not tear off another piece of cotton candy.

Harley tucked a stray strand of blonde hair behind her ear as he spoke with his mouth full. She giggled at sight of him and let out, "You know you look ridiculous right? With all of that cotton candy in your mouth?"

But after his choking incident his smirk was not currently something that Harley appreciated. He had scared her half to death when he started to choke. That was the last thing she needed to do today- the heimlich maneuver. She was about to lecture him on the importance of proper eating edicate, ala not shoveling mounds of food down your throat, when Ryoma's eyes grew sad. Was it something she said?

She placed her hand on his arm and asked, "Hey, Ryoma... are you okay?"

It all clicked though when he spoke about his Mom. She knew that it was not proper edicate, especially for the type of relationship that she and Ryoma had, but she wrapped her arms around him and said into his chest, "I'm so sorry about your Mom."

Why oh why he was at the carnival, was beyond him in many ways. Something to do he supposed. Work couldn't hold him inside for forever, sleep evaded him on even the best of nights, and London was cramped with no purpose. At least here he could do something productive. Or convince himself that he was.

And somehow that purpose brought him around to the food stands. He wasn't hungry and the smell didn't do anything for him. There was one woman however, who seemed ready to eat enough for both of them combined. Provided she didn't drop her food on her way to wherever she was going.

....Where was she going?

With a frown and a head tilt, Sabel paused to the side of her. "Are you planning on feeding the squirrels and the birds....or did you need a hand?"

"And the ants, don't forget them." The words came out muffled, since her teeth were biting down on the corn dog stick. And yeah, on reflection, this was way too much food for one person.

She regretted nothing.

Trusting that he wouldn't run away, since he was offering a hand and all, she deposited the pizza into his arms and took the corn dog from her teeth. Pinching the stick with her fingers, she poked the top of the dog against the side of his mouth, "Here, I don't even like them much. Just bought one for nostalgia, you know?"

A small smile touched the corners of his lips at her mention of the ants: at least she didn't think he was being incredibly rude. However, while he did not mind the pizza getting deposited in his arms, he didn't particularly like the corn dog being coaxed to his mouth.

Tilting his head back enough to speak without having the thing jammed into his mouth with insistence, he gave his head a slight shake. Nostalgia. He didn't quite understand. "No. But thank you."

And just so he didn't have to make a further excuse, he took the fish and chips from her. Both hands occupied equaled eating a corn dog impossible. "Where are you headed?"

"Y'know, I haven't quite figured that part out?" Morrigan didn't mind that he didn't take the corn dog, and just held it with two fingers while using the other eight and her palms to hold the funnel cake. She glanced down at the treat, "The ice cream's starting to melt though, so... better find a place quick. Oh there!"

The corn dog was used to point at a table two people were just leaving, and they'd barely taken their trash away before she'd hurried over (high heels notwithstanding) and thunked the funnel cake down on the tabletop, "Victory!"

His mood still a bit sour, Ryoma was startled when she...hugged him? Well, this certainly hadn't been expected, but you wouldn't see him complaining about getting attention from a beautiful woman like Harley. Maybe he should have pretended to faint or something. You know, get some mouth to mouth action going on? All for the purpose of saving his life, of course.

"Yeah...well...it was a long time ago," he said backing up just a little. Nearly 20 years ago come to think of it.

He had to admire her enthusiasm. And quick feet. Quick everything actually.

Whether he was slower on the uptake or just didn't care to hurry over and risk tripping, Sabel reached the table a few moments after the woman. There was care taken in setting the pizza and fish and chips down. And then he was backing away. "Enjoy your meal, ma'am."

Harley crossed her arms when he said that he made cotton candy look sexy. If by sexy he meant stupid, then yes Ryoma did make it look very sexy. However, in no way shape or form did Harley find cotton candy gluttany attractive. It was repulsive at best, "Ryoma in what world do you live in that eating cotton candy is sexy?"

For a moment Harley thought Ryoma and herself were having a truly genuine moment. Maybe they could talk to one another beyond the boundaries of work and have a friendship that was not based on Ryoma's cat's liking toward Harley's dog. There was really a moment when she thought that, but just as quickly as he had opened up to her he shut himself off again. It was amazing to her how emotionally damaged this man was, he could just turn off feeling anything real with the flip of a switch.

Harley crossed her arms and looked at him as if she were trying to study him, "You are amazing you know that? You can just turn off anything that is too hard to deal with. Really that is a talent... stupid, but a talent."

Blink. Blink blink. And another blink, just for the heck of it.

Then she was sticking the corn dog in with the fish and chips and waving her fingers at him in a motion that said something like 'hey-where-are-you-going-stay-here-wait'. "I can't eat all this by myself! Think of the waste! Think of the bellyaches the birds and squirrels will get! I'm a vet, I KNOW these things. Eat it with me?"

Sabel stopped, turned and returned a bewildered blink at the woman. First to her, then her food, and then back again.

.... "Then why did you buy all of it?"

"Um... I haven't figured that out, either?" Morrigan shrugged, picking out a fry and eating half of it, "Maybe I was trying to meet someone to share lunch with, since I know no one?"

Which was sort of true. Then her ears caught up with her brain and mouth, and she pointed the remaining half of her fry at him, "Hey. You're not British. You've only got a quasi-accent. Did you know?"

Obviously he should know. But he didn't know what nostalgia was, so maybe he didn't.
