The Prewett Estate

For centuries now, the ancestral home has always stood for prestige ad power of a family that once was. But ever since the property has been inherited by Catharina Black - in her daughter's behalf - she has worked hard to change the house's image into something conducive for raising a family. And now, finally, after a year two years of renovations, she was ready to unveil her latest masterpiece - The Prewett Estate.

The manor, despite it's size, is home to only three people: Catharina Black, her daughter, Cassandra Prewett and her cousin, Lyra Black. Aside from the house elves, the house is often empty as Lyra is currently at France and Catharina refuses to spend a lot of time at home when her daughter is off at Hogwarts, but now that Cass has returned for the summer, the heavy curtains have been opened and light floods the halls of the house once more.

SPOILER!!: Layout of the house

The heavy oak doors at the front of the house reveal a warm-looking, sizable drawing room and tan-colored love seats scattered around for people to relax on. At the right side of the room, a sweeping staircase rests against the wall, leading up to the second floor of the house. At the left side is a small archway that leads to the dining area which is connected to the modern kitchen where the house elves, or sometimes Catharina herself, prepare the meals. Then at the far left corner of the room is a small wooden door which leads of the house elves' quarters

The second floor meanwhile houses the master bedroom, which is also connected to her personal study which takes up most of the room on the second floor. Across the hall is Lyra Black's room, but seeing as she is in France, the room remains locked.

The last floor of the house is the third floor. Half of the floor is dominated by the library at the end of the hall. Then, at the left side of the doors leading to the library is the doorway to Cassandra's room and across from it is the guest's bedroom which is usually closed unless there is of course, visitors.

Outside there is a wide lawn where Cass used to run around as a child. A small shed at the end of the lawn contains various brooms collected by the residents of the house, everyone is welcome to borrow from it as long as they return it in working condition. While at the other side, stone steps lead the way to a magnificent garden which displays a wide assortment of trees, shrubs and flowers all comfortably adjusted to the cold, English climate.

First Scene:
Cass is pacing in the middle of the drawing room, waiting for Christopher to get here. She forgot to ask whether he was travelling by floo or if he was going to walk up the doorway and knock.

Default Late! D:

It was very strange, going to a friend's house.

For most people, it was a usual occurrence. It was normal. But not for Christopher James. The only wizarding home he'd ever been to was Selina's, and he'd been living there for the past two summers. It was so much to take in at first, especially due to it's large size. And from what he'd heard, Violet, Elektra, and Gideon all lived in very large homes. So upon arrival to Cass's house, he decided that all wizards lived in really nice homes. But he didn't complain, it was cool to see how other people lived, especially thinking back on his teeny Muggle cottage.

Having side apparated with Sophie, Mrs. Skylar, he was incredibly dizzy and dishelved when he knocked on the door. It was only the second time he'd ever gone through the process, which he found to be very uncomfortable. Holding on to the door frame, he tried to steady himself from swaying like a crazy person. He didn't want Cass to think he was a nutter. But it was probably too late for that.

However, he was still holding onto the frame, eyes squeezed shut, swaying all over the place, when a blonde woman opened the door. It must've been Cass's mother. Trying to pull himself upward, swaying a little still, he held out his hand to shake hers. "Erm... Hello... My name is Christopher... Cass told you I was coming... didn't she?" He probably sounded crazy, but he was at least trying to be polite. He didn't want to show up uninvited, or be rude.

"Cassandra, stop pacing. It's making me dizzy." Catharina said as she looked up from her book "Your friend will get here sooner or later." It was really silly of her to be freaking out like this, after all, it was only a visitor and it wasn't as if she's never had visitors come over before.

Cass stopped in the middle of the living room and shot her mother a dark look for telling her off but said nothing in reply as she continued pacing for another minute before finally obeying her mother's orders as she plopped down on one of the love seats around the room.

Just then, the mother-daughter pair heard the telltale sound of apparition at the other side of the door and before she could even get up from her seat, her mother had set her book to one side, stood up and was at the door.

"Oh, yes. Christopher!" Catharina said with a welcome smile "Come in." She added as she opened the door even further to let the boy in. Then she poked her head out of the door and glanced around for any sign of a second person, he didn't look old enough to be able to apparate by himself. But, no one was here now and there wasn't any sense in leaving the front door open. So, with a last look, the blonde woman closed the heavy wooden doors with a muted thud and strode into the room.

"Cassandra, you're visitor is here." She called out with a smile. It was probably unnecessary since she could heard his arrival, but nonetheless, it was quite funny to watch her get excited.

At the sound of the door closing and footsteps drawing closer, Cass jumped off the couch and suddenly launched herself at him and enveloped him in a tight hug "You made it!" She said excitedly before realizing what she had just done and untangled herself from him. "Sorry" She mumbled. She would have to remember to tell the house elves not to give her anymore chocolate milk for breakfast, it makes her hyper.

"Thank you," he said with a warm smile. Cass was right, Mrs. Prewett was awesome! She seemed like a really cool mum, something he'd never had. Mrs. Skylar was usually was working, and his real mum... well, he'd rather not talk about her. It was a touchy subject. Looking around the rrom, Christopher couldn't help but mutter to himself, "Wow..." in awe. It was a very nice place, he'd only been in one other house that large- Selina's. His Muggle home was probably the size of the drawing room.

He swore he hadn't taken more than three steps in the room when Cass launched forward and attacked him with a hug. Laughing, he wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tight. "Don't apologize, I'm the one who's sorry. I'm late..." he said with a blush. He hadn't meant to be so off schedule, but Sophie was on a strict schedule and they barely had been able to get him here anyway. But he was here now, and he was really excited to be.

"No matter, you're here now." She said happily as she removed herself from his hug. She seriously wasn't expecting him to hug back or anything...not that she was complaining, she was simply pleasantly surprised. "Are you staying over for the rest of the summer?" She asked expectantly, she couldn't see any bags on him, but maybe Mrs. Skylar shrunk them to fit in his pockets or something, apparating with extra luggage didn't seem very easy.

Speaking of summer plans...

The younger blonde turned towards her mother who had been standing by the door behind Christopher and grinned "Mum, Christopher wanted to meet you actually." She admitted "He found your job really cool and it would mean so much to him if you know..you could tell him about it..."

Catharina chuckled at this and absently tucked a loose strand of blonde hair behind her ear as she thought it over. Then, barely a minute later she shrugged her shoulders and smiled generously at the pair "I don't see a reason why I couldn't." She said. Then she glanced towards her daughter and said "Cassandra, why don't you go into the kitchen for a minute and ask them to whip us a snack while I talk to Christopher?" She then gestured to a couple of seats near the coffee table and sat down on one of them, "So what did you want to know?"

Hmm... Was he staying the whole summer (what was left of it, anyway)? Well, he hadn't planned on staying, but the the thought did sound incredibly tempting.... "Well, I mean, I didn't know it was an offer! If that's fine with your mother, I'm sure Mrs. Skylar wouldn't mind!" Christopher really couldn't wait to ask her, he would try to contact her as soon as possible if Mrs. Prewett allowed it. This summer was going to be amazing; he could just tell.

Christopher grinned at Cass as she turned to the kitchen. He made his way to a chair across from Mrs. Prewett, still smiling like an idiot. He was so excited to be here, he felt like a giddy little kid! And oh! How many questions he had! He thought for a moment to try to think of a good question, but the seriousness that had so briefly stayed on his face faded away as he thought of the only thing he could compromise on. "Everything," he said nearly breathless, trying to contain his excitement. It was all too much! He hadn't felt so young in so long! Escaping the seriousness that he normally felt surrounding him was the best feeling in the world, and being with the Prewetts made him feel that again.

"Well, it's perfectly alright with me." The older blonde decided as she answered for her daughter "How about we owl or floo your Mother later and you can ask her?" She offered with a smile, she wouldn't want the boy to get in trouble with his parents just because her daughter wanted company.

Then she crossed her legs, leaned back against the seat and folded her hands over her lap as she laughed lightly at his enthusiasm. It was certainly a refreshing change compared to the company she or her daughter usually keeps. "Everything is a lot of cover." She answered good naturedly "But I suppose we can manage." She pursed her lips for a moment, trying to figure out where to start. Well, maybe she can start with her job description? "Well, as Cassandra has probably already told you, I work for the British Ministry of Magic, as a hall of prophecy specialist." She stated, he knew what the Ministry was, right? But just in case... "The Ministry of Magic is the body of authority that keeps watch over the magical population here on Great Britain." What else was there? "My job, as a hall of prophecy specialist is to safeguard the orbs containing the prophecies in the Hall of Prophecy, as well as to investigate the validity of new prophecies. You could say that it deals with a lot of Divination."

"It's totally cool. She works in this office which is guarded by a whole bunch of spells that repel anyone who is trying to get in there without permission!" Cass suddenly gushed as she entered the room, balancing a tray of assorted biscuits, a teapot filled with tea, and three cups "Like those underground lairs from the muggle comic books!" She added excitedly as she set the tray down on the table between them and took a seat next to Christopher and grabbed for a chocolate cookie. Yum.

Christopher nodded with a smile, though when she mentioned his mother, he began to feel a bit uncomfortable. It seemed like she didn't know. But he didn't want her to. He didn't want her to only feel pity on him. He genuinely wanted her to approve of him as a friend for Cass. Mothers were supposed to do that.. right? "Excellent, I'll write her as soon as I can," he said, making sure the smile didn't falter. It wasn't even faked. He was truly having a marvelous time and he'd only just arrived.

However, his smile began to grow even more as she explained to him her job. He tried not to cut her off, but it took a lot of restraint. The second she finished, though, he bombarded her with about a million questions asked at top speed. He really wanted to know more, if they couldn't tell. "You guard the orbs? Why do they need guarding? How many are there? How can you tell if a prophecy is true? What are the prophecies like? How can you read them?"

Once he finally managed to make his mouth stop moving, he took a cookie, and have Cass a nod of thanks. He never spoke with food in his mouth- it was kind of gross... and rude. So he figured a snack would be a good way to shut up. Then he could listen to his answers and not interrupt.

Christopher snorted when Cass made a reference to Muggle comic books. "Yeah, it's sort of like that, you could say," he mused, smirking at her. "If you mean force fields that superheroes use as protection, or villain's hidden lairs for their evil planning and such, then yes." Comic books were quite a popular trend in his old Muggle schools, so he'd been relatively familiar to him, though he never owned one.

Cass watched as Christopher sort of fought of the urge to squirm in his seat. Oops, she should have warned her mother about his mother...but it completely slipped her mind...and she felt totally guilty for it. She watched her mother furtively from the corner of her eye, trying to see if she noticed Christopher's discomfort. Thankfully, she hadn't.

The older blonde couldn't help but smile, the boy's enthusiasm was contagious! She had never met anyone so interested in knowing about the magical world, well aside from that nutter muggle that she met in one of her trips, but that had been such a long time ago...and it was a muggle. "Easy there!" She said as she held up her hands in slight protest "One at a time!"

"Yes, I guard the orbs from people who would want to steal them or destroy them." She answered, her smile then sort of slid of her face as she remembered the recent fiasco that she had to go through... "Not all prophecies bear good news." She said morosely "and most of the time, a lot of very important people wish to get their hands on these kinds of prophecies and destroy them in vain hopes that it won't push through." A useless hope in her own opinion. Recorded or not, a prophecy stays the same. She quickly regained her composure and wiped the frown off her face, no sense it dwelling in bad memories, even if she still had a few small scars to prove them..."Well, to be honest, I'm not entirely sure how many prophecies there are." She answered truthfully "There are so many of them. filling the hall, some are even older that I am and they still haven't happened yet...there are thousands of orbs there that I haven't even checked yet..." Then she though for a while as she considered his next question "Good question...I've never really thought about it." She admitted "You just sort of...know" Cath then took a minute to catch her breath before answering once again "Well, prophecies are simply like memories." She explained with a shrug "It just so happens that it involves the future and not the past." Did she explain it right? Oh well, she had no doubts that he would not hesitate to ask if ever he found something unclear "and yes, I can see prophecies, only I along with the people involved in the Prophecy can see what it really contains, to other people it would just look like an ordinary, palm-sized crystal ball."

Cass then rolled her eyes as he snorted at her. At least she tried. Even if she had only read one and couldn't understand the story since it was in the middle of the series. She let out an unladylike snort too and said "Well aren't you the expert in comic books."

Christopher tried not to speak so quickly when he asked more questions this time. He was just very interested... and already hyper and excited to be in their home. So he was bound to be very enthused. "Why would people try to destroy the prophecies? Wouldn't they still happen anyway? I mean, the orbs are just like a magical way of recording them, right?" That seemed very extreme for someone to do that, and it would all be in vain. It didn't seem like an intelligent thing to do in his opinion. "Thousands?! If there are so many, how do you know which ones to start with? Especially when new prophecies must come in daily!" Ms. Black's job seemed very difficult, but he found it to be very interesting, and rather enjoyable. At least, he thought it might be, he didn't really know. "Do you have to go through proper training to read them? I mean, before you took the job you probably couldn't read them... Or is it like a magical quality you're born with?"

When Cass rolled her eyes and tossed him her retort, Christopher smirked and stuck out his tongue. "Well thank you! I'd like to think I'm a comic book genius," he joked. He really didn't know all that much about them, but messing with Cass was fun. It always got a very humorous reaction.

Catharina liked this boy. He seemed genuinely curious, as if all that really mattered to him was the new knowledge that he would get from her day - hopefully, summer - visit. She glanced over at her daughter who had reached for another cookie and smiled. Oh yes, this was one friend that she approved off. Unlike the wild crowd that she brought over three years ago. Pft. She still couldn't believe she had let her throw that terribly messy party.

She nodded as the child enumerated his questions, one at a time, already mentally formulating responses for each as she sipped her tea quietly.

"Well, some people forget that little fact." The woman answered dryly as if she found it more irritating than bothering. "But sometimes. a few wizards or witches are smarter than that and wish to destroy the orbs to destroy evidence, traces of it's existence." She was sure that they all had their own reasons, reasons that she didn't even want to delve into. Her job was already hard enough without having to worry about tyrants and the like.

"I usually go through prophecies depending on how many people are affected by it." She admitted with a smile, as if she just giave away some sort of government secret of whatever. But then...most of the things inside the Department of Mysteries were usually government secrets, right? "Thankfully, I haven't gotten hold of any orbs where the whole Wizarding population's fate in it."

Then she thought for a while. Another good question actually. "I don't really know, I'm sorry." She said apologetically "I'm not sure if it's a privilege bestowed upon birth or anything else. Because, I don't know about anybody else, but I never went through any special training or the like."

After answering the second - or maybe, third - wave of his questions, Catharina leaned back against the chair and sipped her tea, smiling slightly as she did so. Watching the playful pair of friends who were sitting across from her.

Realizing that she had no comeback for what he just said. She mentally smacked her head onto a wall for even planting the idea into her head before frowning up at him, crossing her arms and leaning back against the soft love seat before turning her head sideways to face him and sticking her tongue out at him as well. Then, spying her mother's copy of the Daily Prophet, she took the papers, rolled it up into a cylinder and whacked him on the shoulder before tossing it back down onto the table and huffing once more. She hated hot having the last word! Maybe it was a Slytherin thing or something.

Wish to destroy the orbs to destroy evidence, traces of it's existence? Hmm, well that was quite interesting. It reminded him of something he'd seen Mr. Skylar reading in the Daily Prophet... Something about an uprising of some sort of cult? He almost asked Ms. Black about it, to see if that was what the cult members had been trying to do. But it struck him, as he remembered more bits of the article, that people involved were Imperius and perhaps even tortured. Someone might've been killed- he wasn't sure. It was a scary thought, and it wouldn't do to bring it in front of a survivor. It was quite tactless, so he made sure he bit his tongue on that bit.

"I know you can't talk about what's in the prophecies, but what happens if you see a prophecy about someone you know? Or the entire world? How do you stop it? Are they even possible to prevent?" Her job seemed very stressful, but very interesting. You would have to be incredibly curious and strong willed to go to work everyday and see what was going to happen to someone and you couldn't stop it. It made him think of Selina. Perhaps she would work there one day, but maybe not. She hated her visions.

"How curious.... But if you weren't born with the ability, and you didn't go through special training, how is it that no one else can read the orbs? Is there some sort of charm that makes you automatically know only when you've been given the position? That's very strange."

Wait, could this be? Had he gained the final word?! He would make note of this- it was a large step in History. He had won against Ara Cassandra Prewett. That is- until she smacked him with a copy of the Daily Prophet. Turning around with his eyes narrowed, he playfully grabbed the paper and smacked her back in the knee. Not enough to hurt or anything, but to retaliate. He was determined to beat the stubborn Slytherin girl.

She had always been a woman who paid close attention to details, whether it was on clothes or decoration or prophecies - or in this case, expressions - she noticed them. And for that she was eternally grateful. That's why it shouldn't come as a surprise when she noticed the knowing look in the boy's eyes. The look that said that he knew about the incident down at the Department of Mysteries. How? She wasn't sure, the best guess would be because of the Prophet.

"Yes, that incident." She answered, as if reading his thoughts "That's one of the things that makes my job...dangerous, if you can call it that." Thankfully, she hadn't been stunned or anything, just collapsed due to shock and exhaustion.

Cass looked back and forth between her mother and Christopher and frowned. "What incident?!" She asked, her eyes wide and confused. Right, she was totally out of the loop now...and all because she didn't know what this incident was. Pft.

"Well, about prophecies concerning people you already know, then it's possible that they already know about it...if not then I believe you have to get permission from the Department head so that you could bring the person in and have them read the prophecy themselves." She answered with a smile. Oddly enough, no one has ever had to go through that process since the last incident of something like that had been grave and well, it had been during the first Wizarding war and protocol had been ignored. "For those concerning, the world - as you say - well, I suppose the department head along with his specialists convene about the matter, if they deem it harmful then they inform the MLE."

Catharina shook her head, obviously puzzled as he was. "I don't know, child." She said with a sigh. It really bothered her, not knowing why she could read prophecies when she did absolutely nothing to warrant it. "I suppose we shouldn't underestimate the orbs themselves, they seem to be know the difference between who can view the prophecy and who can't." She simply answered with a smile before reaching out for a blueberry tart.

Gasping theatrically as the newspaper hit her knee. "You'll pay for that." She threatened as she grabbed the closet thing that she could smack Christopher with, which happened to be a brown, overstuffed pillow.

*Whaaack*

"Hah!" The blonde exclaimed in triumph as she hit the guy over the head, messing up his hair. "Take that!"

Christopher had kept his mouth shut, but that didn't seem to stop Ms. Black from knowing what he was going to say. Perhaps she was a mind reader as well? Or maybe she could just tell by his expression. Mothers usually had that ability as far as he knew, so it didn't come to too much of a shock, though he did widen his eyes a bit for a moment. "Are you... Can you... read.. minds?" he asked, checking just in case.

"I can't even imagine... that must've been terrifying. How did they end up getting into the Hall of Prophecies? How were they caught? That is, if you don't mind my asking." He didn't want to push a sensitive subject, especially since he could tell from the look in her eyes that the experience had been awful. Plus he didn't even know if she could talk about that for legal reasons.

When Cass spoke up, clearly confused, he glanced over at Ms. Black unsure whether or not she would tell her. He certainly didn't want to say anything her mother did not wish for her to know about, and he really wasn't all too sure that his understanding of the subject was even correct.

He listened intently, trying to take in all of the information as much as he could, though his brain shut itself down a bit more in the summer. It tended to do that when he wasn't at Hogwarts, but he still tried to learn as much as he could. "Since the prophecies and every piece of information in the Department of Mysteries is supposed to be so secretive, why would MLE step in? And how/when do you know to let other departments become involved?"

Christopher's eyes lit up as he smiled when Cath said that the orbs shouldn't be underestimated. The thought of the prophecies themselves knowing who and couldn't read them was amzing to him.

He was suddenly brought out of the conversation when a giant pillow smacked down and landed on his head. Oh man, that was it. "You dare strike me!?" he said in a fake angry tone, grabbing a pillow on his other side. "It seems a war has begun!" he cried, mid swing, the pillow hitting her square in the face as he'd finished speaking. Of course he hadn't hit her hard, just enough to get her going. He could tell his stay here was going to be the best summer ever.

What did the boy just say? Read minds?

"Oh, heavens, no!" The woman answered with a hearty laugh "Of course not! Whatever gave you that idea?" It was a ludicrous notion yes, but he was child, it was fine.

Then she looked away, towards the window where a bird was flying past. It was such a peaceful scene, a complete opposite of what she was about to relive next. She turned back towards the boy and smiled softly, tucking a lose strand of her dark blonde hair behind her ear "It's perfectly fine." She said, but where should she begin? "The Cult of Walpurgis, signs of them had been appearing around Diagon Alley early two summers or so ago, but as I had been on vacation until then, I wasn't updated with the news. Soon, I was employed as an Unspeakable and a very close friend of mine had warned me to keep my guard up because my superior at that time - Mr. Ren Sakura - was a member of the cult. But unfortunately, I ignored his sound advice. " Then she took a deep breath, this was where the chaos began. In retrospect, Kaishu's warning about the cult, their discussion during their lunch together seemed almost like a premonition, as if he knew that she would be in the line of fire...and she would be playing a semi important part. "The other workers of the Ministry of Magic had grown tired of the acting Minister, which was, as you know, Lord Berty Borr. And so, they had organized a strike, forming a picket line in front of the Ministry doors, preventing other employees to enter the building. Of course, I didn't have anything against the former Minister - except that he might have been a little too crazy for my liking, and so I didn't join the strike. Unfortunately, the workers saw that as something else and if it wasn't for Mr. Sakura apparating us out of there, we would have been...as you say 'done for'" Then she sighed, that had been the peaceful part of the whole encounter "When we got there, it was revealed that the aurors were already trying to find their way into the Department, which is a hard task, mind you. Soon, we were placed under the Imperius curse, along with 2 other Unspeakables, I had been tasked to destroy...evidence. The orbs - they possibly sensed the urgency of the situation because that was the first time a person - who was not a Hall of Prophecy specialist - was able to view the prophecies." The woman shook her head, trying to dispel the images that she knew were now forever burned into her mind. "The next thing I knew, I was waking up at here at home. Apparently, I had successfully shaken the curse off, then collapsed out of shock and extreme exhaustion at the amount of effort that it took me to actually break out of it." She finished off with a tired, sort of sad, sigh.

"So, you're saying, you were unconscious for Merlin knows how long and nobody even bothered to tell me?!" The smaller blonde suddenly exclaimed after sitting there in in shock, for a few seconds after the story ended. "This is....argh!" Seriously, she had already lost her dad, she didn't want to lose her mother, and hearing what had happened to her made her blood turn cold. She ran her fingers through her hair and sighed "Whatever. It's done now anyway. As long as you're fine, I guess." There was no point in arguing over it anymore. Besides, she would undoubtedly lose. "Wait, you are fine, right? No follow up check ups in St. Mungo's or anything needed?"

She shook her head and said "No, no. I'm perfectly fine. No need to worry." She answered reassuringly, there was no need to worry her daughter with trivial matters like her health, she knew that the girl had enough on her plate to deal with. Then she smiled at Christopher "Wise observation Mr. James." Catharina said, was the boy possibly a Ravenclaw? he was most certainly as inquisitive as one. "Well, the Department of Mysteries is still a part of the Ministry of Magic - no matter how secretive it is, and if ever we discover something that would be a potential danger to the Wizarding population, then it is our duty to report it to the MLE. After all, we are merely a department dedicated to research, it is not in our place to interfere."

Cass laughed as Christopher brought a pillow down, hitting her square on the face. "My face!" She cried out in mock horror, as if it was some sort of tragedy that he had hit her face. "That hurt you know!" She exclaimed with a mock glare. She then drew back, lifting her pillow over her head and whacked him hard, perhaps not hard enough to send him flying off the couch, but enough to hurt him, just a bit. After all, they're only pillows. What harm could they do?

When Cass's mum began to laugh, Christopher felt himself blush. Well that was embarassing. "No.. I mean... I just... Well... You knew I was thinking of the Cult... and yeah," he mumbled, feeling less intelligent by the second. Having a serious conversation with an adult was refreshing to him- hopefully she wouldn't cease to take him seriously, and like, pinch his cheeks or something.

As she began to explain what had really gone on to the two children, Christopher sat, shocked. He listened closely, the entire event playing in his head. Lord Berr must've been pretty bad to have an entire cult take over the Ministry in his name. But he was more worried about Ms. Black than any of the other things she'd told them about. Being Imperiused was incredibly serious. And if she didn't even remember getting home... "With all due respect, ma'am, you probably should take a visit to St. Mungo's. Just to make sure you're all right." His eyes shone with worry, and a frown was planted onto his face. He was sure Cass looked identical, sitting next to him. "Better safe than sorry.. right?"

"Does the Department of Mysteries ever work alongside with other departments? Like, does the MLE use you for a way to stop possible crime, or are the are a lot of different offices you're working with?" Now, to him, the title Unspeakable didn't sound so unspeakable.

Smirking over at her, Christopher swung the pillow back with slightly more force than he had previously at her right arm, as he was sitting to the right of her. Hopefully Ms. Black didn't get too upset about them attacking each other in her nice house with her nice pillows. He had a feeling that this fight would be going outside soon. Perhaps he could win for once, his height as his perfect advantage.

"It's called a mother's intuition, darling." She said gently with a smile, hoping that the boy in front of her would soon get over his initial embarrassment "Nothing that special, don't worry."

Then she nodded and hummed contemplatively, as if seriously thinking over the suggestion. "I suppose you're right." She finally said after a few minutes of thoughtful silence "After all, it wouldn't do well if I suddenly fell ill again." Then she chuckled and glanced at her daughter "I'm sure Cassandra wouldn't appreciate the fact that she would have to answer to her cousin Lyra, again."

"Perfect Lyra is in perfect France, mother." Cass said somewhat irritably "It's best not to bother her." Then she muttered under her breath "Let the wicked rest."

"I'm not quite sure, really." Catharina admitted to the ever curious boy "I don't have a lot of colleagues in that particular department..." How could she when the aurors practically ransacked their office? But of course, it was for the sake of greater good and all that heroic rubbish...so, it was nothing personal. "But I suppose they do. After all every department in the Ministry has to deal with delinquents or something of that sort too once in a while, right?"

"I swear, Christopher James, if you leave a bruise on my skin, I will kill you!" Cass threatened as she picked up her pillow once more and whacked him over the head repeatedly, its force, lessening with each blow. Merlin, her arms were getting tired, but she was not going to give up! She will not lose!!
