If you're still waiting for the magical email, this is the thread for you. When did you sign up for Pottermore, what's your routine of checking if the email's been sent?

Well, I'm one of the people still awaiting for their welcome email

I have gotten the other two so it is only a matter of time *crosses fingers that I get it soon*

I'm a bad Potter fan because I had completely forgotten about the week with answering the questions and finding the quill. In my defense, I was at uni and exams, etc. Anyway, a friend mentioned it and I immediately went to try my hand at finding the quill. That was Day 5.

Process of checking? Every time I open my email- I check the inbox and the spam box. Nope I'm not obsessed with finding the welcome email. Who am I kidding?

YES! Of course I'm obsessed!

You and me both! Ha! I keep trying to make a vow to NOT check my email constantly and telling myself that I have my phone set to retrieve new mail every 15 minutes, so calm down. Doesn't work.. I still obsessively check even tho I know darn well no emails have been sent out since Tues. lol!

People say there are still a few day 1s who haven't gotten in yet, but most of them are and probably about more than half of the day 2s are in, also.

I just thought of a theory yesterday.. Maybe they're going in order by day then username.. What do you think?

I've heard that too. Hmm that is a very good theory-that they are going by usernames because most of the people I have seen get in do have usernames with letters from the beginning of the alphabet. I really don't know what to think...

I've read about getting it X number of weeks according to the day. Such as Day 1ers mostly got it in the first week, Day 2ers in the second and so forth but like you said a lot of the Day 1ers haven't gotten it yet

And yes-- to the OP-- thanks so much for this! Pottermore is the primary reason why I signed up to SS.

I'm still waiting for my Pottermore email. Knowing my luck, I'll get it on the 29th of October; making my efforts of catching the Quill pointless.

I'm actually not too bothered about it though. I have SS... I only want Pottermore for all the new information it'll give us.

The last day they sent out emails was August 30th. There's still more to come, though! They send them out about every five days or so, according to my calculations.

The official Pottermore Twitter account announces when they're sending them out. I used to check mine every time I got online, but I followed the Twitter and had it send tweets to my phone. A watched pot never boils!
Finally got mine last week or so. It's at random, by the way. I found the Quill on Day 1 and my username starts with a "Q". My friend who joined on Day 2 or 3 (can't remember) and has a "P" username got her letter before I did. So it's all at random.

Anyway, good luck, guys!! Pottermore is great, and I hope you get your letters soon!! <3

I am the same about Pottermore--I really am more interested in the new information Rowling provides than playing or rereading the books (which will be fun as soon as I get in

but not what first draw my curiosity about Pottermore)

I know--I've got them on Twitter as well but thanks for the information. It is a little nerve wreaking having to wait and not yet see the 'gold ticket'.

Yes, I follow the insider on twitter as well. Helps with the obsessive checking. Lol! By my personal calculations, they send a batch out every day for about 3 or 4 days then stop for the weekend, then more on Monday's, possibly Tuesdays, def not Wednesdays. Ha! That's how it's been the last two weeks at least.
I may have to disagree with the randomness of the letters. I think they were random the first two times they sent them out, but now it's not really. Maybe it's not in order of day then username, but maybe it's random by day cause it's definitely not free for all random. Wish it were tho.

Also.. Three people on a Pottermore FB community are day 2ers, tried their accounts today and got in. So they might be sending more out today! Keep your eyes peeled!

I am so sad that I have not gotten my email yet, but I guess I didn't really expect to very soon; I got in on day five. I did not like the time zones, because the first clue was at three am my time

But at least I got in and now I'm happy

Two of my friends are waiting for welcome emails too.

One of my friends read her horoscope and it said; you are waiting for a letter, but it will be a long time before it comes.

In the past week they have let a lot of people in so I'm guessing it will continue to increase. I think for the first week there around than 30K-50K students? There are a lot more now!

Still waiting here, too. I actually wasn't sure if I wanted to try for the beta until the day 1 registration was already filled. Day 2, I got up too late, then got in day 3 because I set my alarm for 4:15am (EDT) lol. It felt so good to get that registration in.
I've been checking my email whenever there's another batch sent out, and a few hours later just in case.

In between the batches, my excitement levels off.

I was at camp for 6 weeks this summer and didn't get back till middle of August. I am guessing I can't sign up anymore?

I'm day 5 and still waiting but I agree with you--my excitement does level off in between batches and I have a feeling that I won't be getting the welcome email until late September at this rate. I only received the second 'congrats' email mid-August.

Like Potatohead mentioned, it's now in the beta version with about a million lucky fans getting to use it. At the moment of course--hence the thread title--not all the million who managed to gain the right for early access have been allowed in. They letting people in little by little.

And really? Sometime in October--the site will go completely public and everyone will be able to sign up. Which is in a month's time basically.

I got in on Day 3 also and still waiting. I'm always checking their twitter and my email. Everytime an email goes off my phone and it's not Pottermore.. I die a little inside lol.

I was reading somewhere that some users didn't get an email. They just went on the site, signed in, and was able to access everything. I wish I could do that. haha

It's true! I wish too! Ha! Tons of day 2ers got in before they got their emails. But they did end up getting them later in the day, I think. So they activate the accounts as soon as they send the emails or before..

That's what they say.. But they also say in the Terms & Conditions that they reserve the right to extend the promo at any time. Gives them wiggle room to make sure they get all the beta users in with enough time to test, I suppose.

I've not got my email yet

I keep signing into pottermore to see if anything has changed, but It hasn't. I can't check my email as often as everyone else, because I was away on the quill challenge, so my Mum and little sister signed my up, and my Mum had to use her email address. I don't know her password, but I'm still checking daily

It seems like everyone has theirs, so it's nice to know i'm not the only one

Lots of people I follow on twitter/HP facebook fan pages have their emails and can get on. It's so annoying, but one of my best friends signed up, and she hasn't got hers yet, which at least means she won't go on about it.

Ah, the fine print which almost never gets read

I guess that they could do that if they want but I think that it won't be long before it does go public in that case. And most likely, when it does go public--not everyone will be able to get on at once. It will be gradual just like the beta phase.

I was so thrilled that pottermore insider announced they had send out more emails. But when i checked my mail.... of course..nothing. But then again i think i should not be the one to complain. I just keep telling myself that i should atleast be happy to have found the quill.. Millions of people HAVE to wait till october.

Also , i think it's NOT funny how people get new accounts just because they didn't get their house of choise. And i'm here like : "What?! most of us don't even have our email yet!"
