| | | Are you disappointed? Am I the only one who's disappointed with Pottermore?
Potions sucks, it takes too long to brew.
There isn't enough to do.
It's not as social as I thought it would be.
Anyone else agree? |

Incredibly. Too much hype leads to much disappointment.
When she announced it I hoped it would be an MMORPG, because I'm sad like that |

NOT dissapointed. I can't believe how many people seems to prefer the interaction or the games. I think pottermore is exactly what she announced to be: an exciting new way to read Harry Potter. Yes, it has some activities, but they are as a kind of gift, of extra material that makes is interesting, a fun experience, but we have to keep in mind that the main activity is the reading experience.
And she never said everything will be re-written, so the new information she gives is more than enough, I wouldn't expect she would make stories about absolutely everything, oh no. Things taste better in small pieces.
The art is really awesome, wonderful. The page is easy to read, not very long in the chapters, with the exact amount of funny elements (for instance the collections), amazing new writing. A master piece.
I think if people want to play or chat, there's a lot of pages where they can do it.

I am a little disappointed by how little you can do at the moment, but I can understand that this site is still new and the creators are still experimenting what may interest us. As I had finished the first book a while ago, I had signed up to learn more about the Harry Potter world. Making the potions and being able to see the Hofwarts castle was an added bonus for myself in my opinion.

While I'm a bit disappointed that the site always seems to be down and there isn't much to do, we all have to remember that she NEVER said this was going to be an RPG thing. The fandom got out of control. I really enjoyed going through the book and seeing the beautiful illustrations, and learning the new little tidbits about characters and other aspects of the HP verse, which was pretty much what I was expecting. The sorting hat was just another sorting hat quiz in my opinion, nothing special, and the potions were fun for the first like...three times.
Now, I'm ready to move on and my biggest grievance is that it's taking FOREVER. It's December. Everyone was supposed to get in in October. I just...ugghhhh. Get on your game, programmers

In some ways I am I mean, it's the same old each time I go in, nothing's changed really. The new book comes out sometime in 2012 (we hope) and we gotta wait for each one to come...
I mean they did an awesome job on the site! There's lots to do, but after awhile, it's just the same thing over and over again going back. If there was a chat we could actually talk to people in, it'd be nice. Or be able to talk to those that we know, or even meet.
And the fact that it's still not past Beta... |

I'm disappointed yes, and I soon got bored. I logged in today for the first time in about 3 or 4 months and I still feel the same way. There isn't enough interactive activities and I agree with Owlpatronus that the potion brewing is just too drawn out. It mean I don't bother with it now.
I feel there should be a messaging. And I can't tell who's asked to add me. I don't know if I'm refusing an add of someone I know or don't.

I am disappointed in the site.
With that being said I like the little tidbits about the book and the characters and I feel like that's all they really had so they tried to distract us with fancy potion brewing and pictures to make us think we were getting something. When frankly they didn't have to. I think we've proven over the years to that we are fans. We don't need any gimmicks or magic tricks (no pun intended) to make us like Harry Potter or to stay interested.
And I get that she didn't have to do this website, but you know what just because JK Rowling did something doesn't mean I have to like it.
I haven't been on the site since I got sorted. I will go back to read the tidbit pares but thats it.

I am not on the site, so I'm still waiting... I don't mind too much, but this is getting a bit silly.

I don't think it's disappointing. At first I was, but as I kept going on every weekend, I liked it better and better. Plus, they finally updated the potions! That made me very happy! I finally didn't have to wait an hour and a half to wait for my potion to brew.

I'm pretty disappointed.
For one, the site was supposed to open to everyone months ago. I get that it's a lot of work and it must be complicated, but come on. Don't make promises you can't keep. It's not fair to the people who didn't get the chance to be a beta, making them wait an extra five months.
I don't like the potions. Trying to make them is awkward and difficult. Is it just me, or is it really hard to tip bottles and things into the cauldron? They just flop all over the place. I don't feel that they give you enough time to make the potions.
I don't like the dueling either. It's nothing like a duel at all. You don't even get to interact with the other person.
And the feedback options are so generic that you may as well not even leave any. Most of the options don't even apply to the problems I'm having with a page.
I'm sadly underwhelmed by the whole thing. |

I have to agree with the original poster. When I first started accessing Pottermore I was fascinated with reading the back stories, getting sorted, and finding objects. However, once I finished the first book on the site I was left floundering with brewing potions and messing with the wizard's duel feature and that was it. There's not much to do once you finish the reading. Plus, the social aspect has been diminished considerably to the point where you can hardly interact with other users. Overall, I feel let down after all of the hype that circulated around this. Then to top it off, the site was scheduled to come out of Beta in October, but it is now March and there are no signs of the site opening to the public or opening up the second book so the users can continue the reading adventure.

It is beyond insulting how long they have kept the rest of the fan base from joining. The only reason I did not try to join to be a tester was because I was busy and I assumed that it would be open and even better in a couple of months anyway. And now they have broken their promise without even an explanation and without a release date. This is probably not Rowling's fault, and I admire and like her for making this in the first place, but I'm dissapointed with how much the devs think they can get away with. People will start getting very annoyed if it doesn't open soon.

They have made an announcement that it will open to the public next month and they have apologized. Accepted. |

I probably do not have the right to say whether I am disappointed or not, I have a great friend told me about Pottermore and described it as fantastic. I really am looking forward for Pottermore to become available for everyone in the near future. During the summer, it was really unfortunate for me to be away on a vacation. I didn't know about Pottermore until I got back, and I was a already too late. I'm sure that competing for house points must be really fun. I'm still waiting... |

Well right now it is April and almost the end of the month and they still haven't opened the second book yet and i have finished the first book last week. Wow, they are really slow at this and if they was going to take so long they should have had all seven books done by now. Sorry but it shouldn't take months so do a website that doesn't move that much.

I don't think it would be cool if they opened all of the books at the same time. I like it how they're doing everything. I mean, we have to understand that it's A LOT of work, and that MILLIONS of people access the site daily (we're talking about Harry Potter!! It's a world-wide thing!). Since it was Beta and all, it had glitches and this kind of stuff, that's why it took so long for them to open it to everybody. And I can tell you, those glitches could drive you crazy!! Imagine if over 1,000,000 people were playing around... it would be even worse!
Now that they had it all sorted about about those glitches, they finally opened Pottermore to the public. And the shop! I'm glad about that and not disappointed at all. I found all of the new information to be extremely worth it! There isn't thaaat much to do, it's true, but look how much information we will still have in the upcoming books! It's my opinion, of course, but I do think all of it is all going to be worth it.

I'm definitely not disappointed at all! I love Pottermore! I'm sure that once more books are released (especially Prisoner of Azkaban; my favorite!) it will become even more fun! I'm also getting some of my friends signed up, which will definitely make the experience that much sweeter! Also, thanks to Pottermore, I'm now warming up to the idea of me being a Ravenclaw (although I'll still be a lion forever! Even on Pottermore my other account is Gryffindor! )
