Totally fun. *sighs* want to see Ron in his quidditch robes.

Hey everyone I'm so sorry for not being here. I've been really sick with the flu, had to go to the hospital and get meds for myself. I really wish Madam Pomfrey was here so she could of healed me, but she had to go on vacation, didn't she? lol Anyway, I'm here now and am going to try and get caught up, but it looks like I missed a lot of stuff, so anyone want to fill me in?

Welcome back, Health Nut! Sorry to hear you were so sick! Right now, we have been discussing WB's cutting of Quiddich and the roles of the house elves (we think!) in the HPOOtP. Needless to say, no one here is happy about it!
Also, we have been discussing WB's changing many things from the books....like they are trying to "modernize" or Muggleize the students by their hair and dress....like seeing Harry go after Voldemort on in-line skates and listening to an i-Pod or something....leaving out tradition, etc.

I can understand some of the Muggle things that are brought into the school like some of the fashions. I can't see Harry with an i pod or computers at Hogwarts. I don't think that witches and wizards wear robes all the time when they are away from the prying eyes of their peers. I would like to see WB stay a bit closer to the books. I know that there will still be a Harry Potter without Quidditch but it would just be better if they left it in. The movies are made for the people that fell in love with the books and the movies and WB should want them all to be happy with the final outcome and if that means leaving in Quidditch then that is what they should do.

WB in all fairness cannot have the entire book made into film as it would be 4 hours long not that we would mind as we would gladly set through it knowing that we have such a wait for the next one. Quidditch probably is very expensive to film and in order to keep something else in and stay within there budget they may have had to drop it. I do not know there reason but it does hurt just a bit to know that it will be left out of the movie again. The people that see the movies with out reading the books miss so much. They probably don't even know that in the third year Harry and the Gryffindor team won the Quidditch cup as it was left out of that movie. I would love to see the return of Dobby and Winky in the kitchens but who knows. I am excited to see the film and know that I will enjoy it. While in my head going well that didn't happen in the book or she did not say that. I know that when the film is released that I will go see it no matter if Quidditch is reinstated or not. I love the movies to much not to go and see it. It has become a tradition we always take my niece and this year will be extra special for her because she will get to see it on her birthday as that is the release date. If I have to wait in line all night the night before.

I too, plan on seeing the movie ASAP! I realize they can only do so much....we'll have to wait and see how much they chop!

Okay, that just made me a bit annoyed. There is nothing in the books about Harry owning an iPod, or even using computers, so why would WB want to show that in the movies? And cutting out the house elves?!?!?! Argggg that's the only reason why I was going to see it because of Kreacher (haha not really) he should be in it, he's an important charctor.

Quidditch I can see in a way; it's not really important, just a side event that went on in the book. Harry/Hermione didn't even see a lot of Quidditch since they were talking with Gwarp, that's more imnportant I think. But I can see why it's dissapointing to you guys, Ron's big moment being missed by millions around the world, due to the WB and their cutbacks. I really hope they won't cut out more though; I want to see Trewlaney get sacked and McGonagall and everything else. If they cut that part out I'll be furious, and no one wants to see me get mad lol

I want to see all the twins tricks on Umbridge & their glorious escape.that was funny. lol

I know! I hope they don't cut that out! That, to me, would be a BIG mistake!!!!!!!! I want to see Umbridge's face when they take off and get the salute from Peeves as they tell him to get her for them!!!

I agree, I am wondering how they are going to create the swamp in the hallway, or all of the students taking the puking pasties while in her class, and the dragon fireworks that when she tried to vanish them multiplied four times! Hopefully they will not cut all of that out, becuase I believe it is all very important to the story line.

It is important. It shows rebellion amonst depression. If I had a headmaster like hr, I'd rebel too, though my way would be the muggle way and wouldn't be as cool. I'm going to love watching her squirm as Peeves messes with her sanity. Let's hope they keep that part in.

Yeah! It will be sad if they cut all that great stuff! Quiddich is bad enough, particularly when it is so pieced together with so much that happens!!!

Wow, sorry I haven't been here in awhile, guys! School has just been murder the past few weeks! But tomorrow is my last test for awhile, so I should be able to get on a little more often! I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better Health Nut!

I understand that there are a lot of things that must be cut out of the movies due to cost, but keeping these movies to just 2 1/2 hours max is getting ridiculous, because the books are just getting longer and longer, and they're about to put out the movie with the longest book yet. They want to try to keep the young ones happy, I understand, but the people who they truly should be marketing to are the people who were are in love with the books. I have to say that I have had some major disappointments as to the messing around with the story line the last 2 movies. Plus, the movies are getting darker and the fans are getting older, so the movies should be allowed to be a little longer. In the fifth book, I'm really looking forward to the twins' antics, and anything with Draco, of course. There's one line in particular that I want to see, but that's beside the point. I am also SOOO looking forward to the Ministry scene, all of it! And I really doubt they'll cut out Kreacher. He's vital to the storyline. And I can't wait to see Umbridge get what she deserves! I hate her more and more everytime I read that book! I will definitely be going to see this movie on opening night!

Glad UR back! School can be very demanding!!!!! And I certainly agree they should extend the movie's length to keep more true to the books and the plots....as you said, the fans, like Harry, are growing up....they would love to sit through a movie that was well made and kept more in even if it went four hours!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with DracosDuchess.....i hate it when they toy with the storyline...fans want to watch the movie like it is in the books, but they are taking it in a different direction...and there is going to be no quidditch in the fifth one...I hope they don't cut it off in the sixth...it will be important since Harry is going to be Captain...thought I really want to watch Ron fly...

Thanks duchess, glad you're back, we've missed you here! And I agree with everything you said; it would be awsome if they kept everything in the movies, and made the movie 5-6 hours long, I know I"d personally sit through it with stale popcorn and flat pop

That is NOT possible....the director has gone crazy! Ipods in Harry Potter? Someone has to remind him that Harry Potter is taking place in the late 20th century...not the 21st.
