So we know that Harry and Ginny raised three of their own children, Harry James Potter II, Albus Severus Potter, and Lily Luna Potter, as well as Harry's godson, Teddy Lupin.

But what do you think Harry would have been like as a parent? Obviously, one of the key themes of the Harry Potter series is love and the bond between Harry and his adult figures. Do you think Harry's relationship with Sirius would be mirrored by his relationship with Teddy? Perhaps, since Harry struggled growing up throughout his childhood without his parents, he would be even more loving and caring and protective?

What are your thoughts on Harry as a parent/guardian?

I think that he would be the parent who gives in quite a bit but also knows how to be strict when need be.

Harry as a parent. The thought that got everyone emotional. Harry is ought to be the best parent anyone can ever have. I suppose he would guide his children(even other's if they care) to the right path. And protect them from evil.

Harry as a parent would just be..well...amazing. He'd be kind and loving. Teddy would be treated with as much respect as the other kids. With Ginny backing him up, Harry would rule as a father. Although he would be strict when he wants to be.

When has Harry Potter ever let someone down?

I think Harry as a parent could go two ways. He could either be a brilliant parent or a horrible one. I think that because he really didn't have any good parenting influences in his life. The Weasley's were there as was Sirius but he didn't get to see either of those for very long what with school and Sirius' subsequent death. Then again that same lack of a good influence could be what turns him into a brilliant parent because he really wouldn't want his children to be brought up the way he was.

What do you mean by that?

See, I thought about that. Obviously, he wouldn't be mean or terribly strict. I feel like he'll have the recklessness that Sirius had with him. If I do recall, somewhere during the Battle of Hogwarts, doesn't Harry think something along the lines that he'll be just as reckless a Godfather as Sirius was for him? I don't think he'd treat Teddy a lot different than Harry, Albus, and Lily.

You bring up a great point! I always felt that even though the Weasleys were so loving and nourishing to Harry at a crucial time where he needs parental love (his teenage years), I don't think it was entirely "parental," otherwise, I think he wouldn't have loved and married Ginny, you know? But that being said, I think Ginny will supplement Harry in his possible lack of parental skills!

I always thought that his memories of his mother and father, who apart from James and Snape were known as very kind people... towards the end for James more so. And he had such a horrid upbringing with the Dursleys and there would be no way he would want his kids to go through that. I think the fact that Ginny did come from such a big loving family would have given him a lot of guidance. Also seeing how Ron and Hermione, who both came from good families, had raised their children he could have learned along the way. And there is always the learning from mistakes, so Harry would have made mistakes - even he isn't perfect, and learned from them. On top of all this, I think parenting is finding a style that suits you as well as teaches your children the right ways of life, so Harry and Ginny might not have wanted to take any parenting knowledge from families into their family, but rather make it up as they go.

When I think Harry as a parent its weird to imagine. For him being one thought I think he would be brilliant at it. Even if he never had his father and lived with his aunt and uncle to shows him how not to act to his children. All together thought I think he knows what good and wrong for his children and he would know where to draw the line or somethings and how to handle to in a good way. Also as showin in 19 years later after the battle of Hogwarts he shows to Albus its alright no matter what house you are in, with that Harry seems to be the one to help his children with situations and what might worry them and tell them if this happened then everything would be alright. With Harry as a parent I think he would be amazing.

With the 19 years later, because he didn't sort of make Albus think that all his family were in Gryffindor, and that the bad wizards are from Slytherin, or the "Duffers" are in Hufflepuff, and smart people are in Ravenclaw - he made him see that any house would be lucky to have him, and no matter what house he is in it just means his characteristics suit one house better.

I love how he's so caring towards his children too! How he confides in his son telling him about the sorting hat wanting to put him in Slytherin. How he cared about the fears of being put into Slytherin. So sweet!
