Off to the side of the Main Seating Area in the Leaky Cauldron is a small bar area that was built for customer convenience. The long mahogany counter goes on for several seats and is the perfect place to have a conversation and relax with other customers in the Leaky Cauldron. Ryoma's cat, Marshmallow, can often be found curled up in a ball on his personalized canary yellow cushion. Ryoma asks that you do not feed him scraps from your meal, no matter how much the cat begs, due to the strict diet the fluffball is on.
Similar to the rest of the Leaky Cauldron, Harley has charmed the bar to have specific magical properties. With a tap of one's wand on the counter the drink that the guest was envisioning magically appears in front of them. However, the drink stays magically glued to the counter until the customer has dropped off the correct change into a box on the corner of the counter. If anyone tries to remove the drink without having paid Elliot, the Leaky Cauldron's clumsy watchdog Dalmatian, will gladly escort them out of the Leaky Cauldron.
OOC: This is a thread specifically for RP's in the Leaky Cauldron. If you are intending to have a long RP, which we completely support, please post in this thread and NOT at the Main Bar and Ordering Station. Likewise, drink and food orders will not be taken here, so please do not RP your character doing so. And, as always, do not RP for Ryoma or Harley.
And a very IMPORTANT warning. Please please PLEASE make sure you have read all SS rules - especially those involving drinking. There will be a zero tolerance policy in regards to this rule.

Ashley had been running around all day like a chicken with her head cut off, trying to plan her parents anniversary Valentine's dinner. Why she had agreed to help, she wasn't sure. Maybe it was the fact that her dad had practically begged on his knees, insisting he was rubbing at 'this sort of thing.' Or maybe it was the fact that she was a sucker for romance...not that she had had much of that lately. All she knew was that between work and the party, she needed a break.
She tapped her wand on the counter, thinking of a nice glass of wine, and one magically appeared. She smiled, reaching in her purse to deposit the right amount of money in the slot before being able to lift her glass. She looked around, tapping her fingers absent mindedly on the bar.

Rupert needed to get out of the house, badly. He was going through so much pressure, it was literally killing him. He decided to maybe go get a drink at the Leaky, and maybe see a few mates. He was tired of Ronnie being depressed at home and shutting everyone out. He was also still shocked at himself going to be a father soon, which he knew he couldn't do. I mean yeah, he had three other kids to take care of but...they weren't...babies.
Rupert took an empty seat with his butterbeer and red velvet cake, and set it down. He loooved red velvet cake. It was delicious and always made his mood better. Which he really needed today.

Finding an empty seat, with an empty chair on either side of him, Benjy sat and pulled the newspaper out from inside his jacket. Opening it up, he started reading an article, sipping his drink every now and again.

Since she seemed to think of him as well-mannered and polite, he figured that she would be a good choice if he needed someone to write him a recommendation for work.
As Elizabeth got up, Benjy helped her up and then bowed to her. "You are very welcome. and do have a good rest of the day, yourself." A quick nod of his head, then she turned, and he headed off towards the door leading into the alley. He really needed to get out and go shopping.

It was kind of unusual for Finlay to actually have a second day off in the week. Very unusual. But Finn was going to enjoy it. Spend some time with his little sisters. He hadn't seen them for a while, being kind of busy with his quidditch, and Fallon. So today was going to be spent with them. First though he was gonna go get them a present. Maybe some make up, but he and Fallon had discovered that he was not good at buying make up. So maybe not that. Finn decided he'd just get them some sweets. That was easy and he wouldn't much that up.
But first the 20 year old decided that a good drink was in order. He usually didn't drink much, it wasn't good for his body, and he did need to keep in shape. But he was doing well recently. He'd nearly been promoted up to the top team. So, yup. Finn really did deserve a good firewhisky. And so, he moved towards the bar, and leant up against it.

NOW he remembered why he was there. Salander strolled up to the Bar when he spotted Finn settling down on one of the stools. "So, should I start calling my bookie and have him track every game you're playing?" he snickered as he clapped the former Eagle Head Boy on the shoulder. Of course he hasnt heard anything from Finn other than their last conversation when the former Ravenclaw was aiming to play Pro-Quidditch "How're you doing Finn?"

Finlay was kind of in his own little world at the bar. Thinking about what sweets he was gonna buy his sisters. It'd have to be something he liked, so that he could eat them too. He wasn't that stupid. But with his little day dream, he didn't really notice anyone beside him until Sal spoke to him. Wow. Sal. Finn hadn't seen the guy since he'd graduated from Hogwarts. "Sal." The ex-ravenclaw grinned at what was once quite a close friend. Sal was gonna bet on him? Interesting. Finn nodded towards the stool beside him before he spoke. "Long time so see..." Very long time. It would be nice to have a catch up.
"I'm doing fine Sal....nearly onto the proper team, so you can probably get your bookie ready." The pro player laughed, with a big grin on his face. It was clear that he was pretty happy to be doing so well. "How're you doing?"

"Keepin' busy yeah... hadnt had much down time since I took up the Purchasing Manager post with the Astors..." he started as his drink slid over to him. Picking it up, he let it hover over his lips as he added "Nearly on a proper team you say? And which team would that be?..." he asked as he took a swig of firewhiskey, the gold wedding band glistening on the hand that held the glass. "Oh, better yet what position are you trying to nail? You aint taking a bench warmer post are you?" he added chuckling. | |

That would be interesting. "Montrose Magpies." Best team ever. Finn loved playing for him. Ahh. Drink. Finn took a gulp of the firewhiskey before speaking again. "Chaser. I do play beater a bit though." Mostly chaser though. And he did love that. But wait. Was that a gold ring. Finn's eyes widened, and he kind of chocked on his drink a minute. "....You got married?"
What was with his friends and getting married?

Marie sighed as she rested her elbows on the bar and her chin on her arms. It was a very childish pose, but at this point she really didn't care. She just wanted a drink and let her hair down a little. She was done even thinking about taking care of kids, it was one thing to watch them for an hour, it's something all together when her brother leaves her with them for a whole day. Mickey knocked on the bar for the bartenders attention. "FireWhiskey on the rocks..." She looked at her watch and back at the bartender. "You know what you can just leave the bottle. We are going to be well aquainted with each other by the end of the night."
