Ron would laugh because he "has the emotional range of a teaspoon". Sorry...I don't like Ron very much.

He might of laughed at that out of the fact that Harry was caught off guard it that situation. But Ron isn't a git so of course he wouldn't laugh about that.

Maybe the reason that was said was because Harry seemed to think he knew it all. He seemed to know that Draco was up to something. Ron didnt think it was a good idea to go. Ron is always the tag along and never gets the glory. Harry's hero side got him in trouble. I dont think Ron would laugh at the injury but more tell him I told you so. There friendship was so strong that laughing or comments wouldnt happen.

Well, I have noticed this too, and from what I've read so far, I agree with most of you. The story's told from Harry's point of view, and he was embarrased to first be Petrified, then found with a broken nose, and then appearing at Hogwarts in Muggle clothing, having just lost his House 60 points. His confidence and self-esteem would not have been at their highest just then, and he would have expected anyone to laugh at him. Just my opinion, though. Any other ideas?

Maybe its because Harry usually comes in the Great hall late, or he is hurt, so when he told Ron about Draco and then the broken nose, he probably thought that Ron would laugh at that because, Harry is alway hurt at the beginning of the school year. But he was glad he didn't. Just a thought.

Ron did not laugh actually. Mabe it was just Harry who thought being stamped on the face was funny

Yeah that is a good question. Ron wouldn't laugh cause he's Harrys mate and he wouldn't expect Harry to laugh if Draco had broken his nose. Maybe it's just because Ron laughs at pointless things that often, that Harry wasn't sure whether he would or he wouldn't.

Yes. Throughout the books you learn that ron can be very unpredictable. But I guess that jk is the only one who knows the real reason.

I think someone said it, but it's because of their age. Although they seem really mature and grown-up, because they're always fighting against evil, they are, after all teenage boys. Although it's Malfoy, Ron might have laughed at him getting one over on Harry... and that his nose looked funny. But, he could obviously see that it was a serious situation...

Maybe because he knows Harry is obsessed with trying to prove draco is a death eater, but Ron doesn't think so and doest see the importance in what Harry is doing. So after seeing Harry get himself into a situation where he gets caught sneaking into their compartment and getting his nose broken he might think that funny, because Draco being evil isn't really that big of an issue to him. However he knows that this is important to Harry so he doesn't laugh at him even though he might think it funny..

^^ I agree, but maybe it's also because Harry feels like an idiot for not seeing something coming? I mean, why would he wait behind? If you think of it logically, Draco wouldn't be about to show his Dark Mark or something, and if he was going to he wouldn't do it alone like some kind of fool, would he? He'd boast about it, surely? And maybe Harry knows that it wasn't a good idea, because if he was going to enter a carriage of Slytherins, all of whom hate him, shouldn't he have used a shield charm, to make sure that nothing could happen to him?
