Sirius' School Days
What might have Sirius' school days been like, from his very first year at Hogwarts to the very last? When did he meet James? How did they meet? How did he perform in his classes? Was he as much of a troublemaker inside the classroom as he was out?
What about during Hogsmeade trips, how would our favorite Marauder have spent that free time with his friends?

I am really interested in this topic. To be honest I feel very let down on the amount of information Jo gave us on the childhood of the mauraders and it was almost a tease each time she gave us a tiny bit of memory.

I see young Sirius almost as the more popluar and cool version of Ron Weasley. What do you all think?

I think Sirius was maybe a bit shy before he met James, but soon afterwords he became quite popular and was a really likable guy.

I agree, it would've been lovely if Jo would've let us see a little more of the marauders, especially their younger days and how they came to meet and stuff. But she probably didn't want to divert the story from Harry Potter's time, y'know? 'Cause then perhaps it would've been like too much info to give detail about the marauders' past that didn't relate to what was going on in the present.
Either way, it would be awesome if she gave us more of a sneak peek, though who knows if that'll happen! For now we'll just have to use our imaginations.

I like that theory, though I'm not sure if he would've been as clumsy as Ron was... Though I could definitely see him being the funny guy, sort of like the class clown. That was probably how he met James, being funny in one of their classes during their earlier years in Hoggies. Or maybe they became friends after Sirius made jokes about James since he was such a clown? ! Who knows...

I was actually thinking something like that too. I can see the slightly older Sirius, the one that's already best friends with the best seeker in school being all confident and funny and stuff, but before meeting James he could have been a little more reserved. Though it still leaves me with the question of how they came about becoming friends? It probably had a lot to do with the fact that they were in the same house and everything, so I suspect they became friends from very early on, maybe even during their first year.

I loved any time we found out something from the marauder's school days, I wish Jo had included more or would do another book about the first war so we could see more Sirius!

I could definitely see Sirius being more shy before he made friends because he was probably alienated from his family, which would make any eleven year old reserved. However, I think he was very confident by the time he graduated. The flashback in the fifth book gave me the impression that Sirius was a ladies man in his teens. I see teenage Sirius as a cool, fun loving rebel!

I imagine him as the big heart throb of Hogwarts. And very mischievous. Plus in the books it did mention in flash backs that he was very HANDSOME! And that girls were ogling him but he didn't really seem to notice

Ok, I think that when Sirius first started Hogwarts he still had the influence of his family on him, so he may have been a little more subdued. Then, over time, he became a very outgoing and popular person. James and Sirius most likely hit it off when they first met-which was obvious in Prince's Tale. I was a bit surprised that James wasn't put off by the fact that Sirius was a Black.

I actually think that Sirius performed very well in his classes, especially Transfigurarion and DADA. For some reason I see him being good at Astronomy too! I have a feeling McGonagall was really fond of the Marauders, even if she tried to not show it. (I think the nickname 'Minnie' started with Sirius and the Marauders)

I think he spent his free time chilling, pranking, and flirting with girls. Handsome, funny, confident...I'm sure Sirius was quite popular, and quite the heartthrob!

I think Sirius must have been able to talk his way out of situations. Otherwise he and James would have been expelled before they hit fourth year being the pranksters that they were. However, I like to believe he may have also had a serious (no pun intended) side. I mean, they were facing a war, and he was on the right side of it. I think as a kid he believed he was invincible. The great Sirius Black, but as he got older, I imagine him a little scared, but being strong for everyone else. He must have been terrified when James died. His partner in crime, the one who'd stuck by him when nobody else had... Anyway. On the other hand, he was kind of a bully! much as I hate to admit it, he was. I mean, he and James inflated a kid's head for fun. What? Yeah, what's up with that? Maybe he was just having fun like normal kids, but that's just cruel. I still love him.

i agree with Siriusblackismine...some people don't see him as being (no pun intended) serious. But I really think he can, even as a kid! Growing up as a Black, he's probably heard some pretty nasty things. I think he came in being a little anti-muggle, because that's how he was raised and a kid can't just get over that. But he probably got over it pretty quick. Anyways, I think he did understand the magnitude of the situations, but everyone was being so serious and stuff so he kind of had to be the light-hearted jokster.

I noticed that two, It's like serious's name is sacrastic cause he's totally not serious!

I think he and James would have either been great friends as soon as they met, as some people who just meet immediately hit it off. OR they hated each other for a while, and then got over it really quickly once they realised how great they were as friends. But I think he always had that rebellious side because of his family, he wanted to rebel against them and just found he was good at it. So he kept doing it.

I think Sirius was a tiny bit shy because he must have never done anything with people if they werent purebloods due to his parents' pure-blood mania.
So it might have took him a couple seconds to actually talk to James but in the end they became the best of friends and then they met Remus and I think he was more braver and started talking to Bookworm Remus first and then somewhere in the mix Peter was thrown in there. I dont picture Sirius ever really liking Peter, I think its because Sirius just felt that Peter was to chicken, scared, or something that gave him a pretty werd vibe.
