I think the duel is my favourite part in DH.
However, do you think Snape would have killed McGonagall if Professor Flitwick hadn't casted a spell on him?
Or you think McGonagall would probably have killed Snape?
And third, do you think Snape wouldn't EVER killed McGonagall because he was not evil but he was acting under Dumbledore's orders?
Finally, who is, in your opinion, the most powerful?

I don't think Severus is that kind of character, even he did cast it. Under Dumbledore's Orders more, Severus wouldn't kill her. A funny thing: I thought that McGonagall and Snape fit each other. It would be fun.

But then, the all excel in spells, so I don't know really.

I don't think Snape would have killed McGonagall. I think he was stalling for time, so someone (Flitwick) COULD cast a spell on him so he wouldn't kill her. I think he was trying to spare her life.

However, I DO think McGonagall would have killed Snape, seeing as she thought he was a Death Eater. Dumbledore never told her the plans, and I seriously doubt she would have stopped the duel to ask Snape why he killed Dumbledore, don't you?

I honestly don't think he would have killed her, maybe stupified her and moved on, pretending he needed to get rid of others. McGonagall might have tried to kill him, I don't think she knew about Snape loving Lily. And the same as I said before, I don't think he could have killed her, maybe stupified her and moved on, pretending he needed to get rid of others. I think they both equally powerful/strong, in their own ways. Maybe McGonagall in wizarding skills and Snape in heart after all, he has gone through a lot for lilly.

Nah Snape wouldn't kill McGonagall, he was on her side the whole time and I think he had a lot of respect for her as a teacher/coworker.

Snape won't kill her. Most likely he'd just cast "Petrificus Totalus" on her as he did to Flitwick before he went for the Battle of the Astronomy Tower.

On the other hand, I think McGonagall might kill Snape since she (& everyone else, at the moment) thought that Snape betrayed the Order & killed Dumbledore.

I've no idea on who's more powerful,but I've the intuition it's between Flitwick, Snape & McGonagall.

I dont think either would have killed the other.

Snape was on her side and I don't think McGonagall was really that type of person. We even see her treatment of the Carrows. She could have killed them, but didn't.

Now would she have physically harmed Snape? porbably

I think mcgonagall was more powerful. But snape would never have actually hurt her because he was on their side.

I don't think Snape could have killed Mcgonnall, not because he wasn't powerful enough. Mcgonnall couldn't have killed Snape either, because she wasn't a killer.

I think they are both very powerful people. It's hard to say...Snape is probably more powerful, that's why Dumbledore trusted him with all the secrets.

Seeing Snape and McGonagall duel is exciting. Mcgonagall finally standing up! I don't think Snape would kill McGonagall. He's not a bad person deep down.

I don't think Severus would have killed McGonagall, he wasn't bad and I don't see him ever bringing himself to kill her.

I don't think she would have killed him either, I think she may have come close, but stopped herself short of actually doing it. She would 'lower herself to a murders level' (in my opinion)

I couldn't ever seeing a situation coming up were Dumbledore would ask him to kill her and even if Dumbledore did I don't think Severus would do it. Yes, he was very loyal to Dumbledore but I think Severus would ONLY do it if McGonagall. ask him to for some reason (like the whole Snape/Dumbledore death)

Honestly I think Severus is more powerful than McGonagall. Not to disrespect her, I think she herself is an amazing witch, but Snape was so much younger than her and could do so much more so he must be more powerful

I don't think Snape would ever kill her. As evil as he was made out to look, deep down he was a good person.
Now, I do believe that McGonagall could have killed him. More out of rage and hatred. I don't think she knew that Dumbledore had planned for snape to kill him, so not knowning this could have gave her enough courage/strength/rage to kill him. Especially since she was extremely fond, in a motherly way, towards Harry. Knowning that Snape was 'in on trying to get Harry' would have helped with getting enough rage to kill him. She wouldn't have killed him because 'she could' or because she was evil, more she would kill him because she knew he woul;d have caused more harm and pain to others
