The book says that the boat to take you to where the locket is hidden is designed to take one wizard and one victim to the island. But when voldemort is checking his horcruxes are safe in the last book, he is on his own.
Who drank the potion or was it just good old voldies magnificent magic??

If Harry and Dumbledore had already been to the cavwe before Voldy, than Dumbledore drank it, and when Voldy got there the potion was gone as was the locket..

When Dumbledore and Harry go across Dumbledore says that Harry, being underage, will not count. And Dobby obviously didn't count because he's a house-elf.
Also, when Voldemort went back the locket was gone and the basin was therefore empty of potion (I'm supposing).

Yes, the basin was empty already. But then the question of "how come it filled itself when R.A.B. left a fake madallion?" I have two theory:
It fills itself when it feels something is there.
or; R.A.B. filled it, and then since Voldy is the original maker of the spell, he could easily empty it.

I think that Voldemort created the potion and the anti-vanishing spell, so he would have known how to vanish it, and get his locket. I don't think he was susceptible as most people would have been to that potion.

It was kreacher. It says it all in the last book. Voldemort told regulus (R.A.B) to find him a victim to take, so he tells kreacher that it's a great honour. He made kreacher keep drinking the potion until the locket was entirely reachable. Then voldemort left kreacher in the cave on his own and he had to apparate back to grimmauld place.
