Did any of us think Molly and Arthur had planned for a huge family, or had wanted it that way? Like..Do you think maybe they had thought about just one or two kids..three or four at the most, or do you think they wanted that size of a family to begin with?

Umm, I'm not sure whether or not they wanted to have as many kids that they do, but I think that they wanted to have more than 2. I don't know, Molly and Arthur always seems to be the big family type, so I think that they wanted to have quite a few children. I'd say that I think that they did want a lot of kids for this reason.

I don't think they did family planning. I think they wanted it this way, to have lots of kids. They probably loved kids & that's why they wanted to have so many.

I also that they wanted a bigh happy family. They probably had few sibilings at childhood and they always dreamed of having a really big family whe they are older.

I think personally that Molly always wanted a girl, and so did Arthur, when he realised how hard raising up 6 boys was. I'm not sure whether they would have kept trying if they had realised how much like her brothers Ginny was going to be. I also think that if Molly could've done, she would've had more children, she seems to have so much love to give everyone. Hermoine and Harry are like her other children.

I think they wanted a large family. But on the other hand, they might have been wanting to get the elusive 'Weasley girl' for the family, since boys were born more often. They just happened to stop right after Ginny was born.

i reckon that they did what the Beckhams seem to be doing - keep trying till they got a girl.

I think they wanted their huge family! I agree with everyone, they have too much love in their hearts to just have one or two children!

Plus look at the way they 'adopted' Harry and let Hermione stay there all the time. They loved children! I think if they had more money they would have had even more children.

I have actually never thought about this before! But I think that they would have wanted a big family. Especially Molly, as others have said, she just has so much love to give, and so much protection and everything. But I also think that they wanted a girl. I mean, after having that many boys, and no more after Ginny, it's easy to conclude. But who knows... They are magnificent parents though, so little money they had but their home was so 'Homey' and warm.
