ALIAS GRACE! I loved it, and I loved the series.

I'm done, with 73 of 52 read. So I've extended it to 100 but um yeah, we will see

SOOoooOO my boyfriend has suggested I read a few books over our time together, and I'm really stubborn in 'I have a HUGE list of TBR, I just want to read what I feel like reading' so it's generally a good year after he first suggests books that I actually read it. So, Robin Hobb - I fell instantly in love. And now I'm into book two of The Wheel of Time series, and it feels a little daunting to have 14 books and over 11,000 pages in the series haha. Yeah. So I'm weaving in A Series of Unfortunate Events into the mix, and I'm up to book 11!

So, I set myself a nice manageable goal of THREE (3) whole books for 2019, with the catch for myself that they have to be new books. I've already finished reading three (I think maybe four?) books this year, but only one of them was a whole new book - Dune.

YALL. Anyone who's read Dune needs to TALK TO ME ASAP. Or after exam exile BECAUSE !!! SO GOOD.

My next book is probably going to be a reread of The Amber Spyglass (I reread Northern Lights and The Subtle Knife a couple months ago) to prep for both the new series coming out AND the new book!

So, I need a third new book for 2019. XD Any suggestions?

Anything! My favourite genres are definitely fantasy and science fiction so maybe I should stick with them for this 2019 mini challenge, but I'd love recommendations across the board too <3 thank you!

When you say new, are you meaning ones you haven't read yet? Or more like new releases?

Have you read any Robin Hobb? Or book one of The Wheel of time? Because both are amazing and +1 from me.

New aka ones I haven't read, yes. Dune came out in (googling here) 1965, so that definitely isn't new XDD

Oh man, what a blast from the past!! I'm pretty sure Robin Hobb's been in my To Read list since I was ten! This is an AMAZING rec, that and Wheel of Time, thank you so much!! *adds to reading list*

Haha yeah, I thought so.

Dune is also on my list! Also because my dad told me he named me after a character in it, so I'm curious about the Lady Jessica haha.

No problem! We can exchange thoughts one we've finished them

Heeeeeeyo! What have you all been reading recently?!

I just finished Truly Devious in a couple of days and quite enjoyed it, it was a nice, light, fun read.

Woooow, that's what I'm like when my boyfriend recommends books. It's been FOREVER since he recommended the Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sandersonto me and I still haven't gotten to it. But that's because it suuuuuuch a long book. *flops*

I'm almost halfway through my book goal! I've completed 20/50 books, most of them being new, and am currently reading like 9 books. monogamy whomst?

Most recently, I read Becoming, by Michelle Obama, and I'm still entirely blown away by that. Wow. My full review is on my Goodreads page and I know some of you have seen it already but W O W. It's so so so good, so eye-opening and humanising, but it just gives a whole new level of respect for her and her husband, knowing how much they sacrificed.

Also I read Siddharta, by Hermann Hesse, and that was another book that knocked the wind out of me. So much so that my next read has got to be something lighter or I will not be able to get through it without a breakdown. Honestly.

I've been really bad about keeping up with my book goals for the year, but just finished a reread of one of my favorite authors Jay Crownover. It left me in a bit of a bookhole even though I've already read the series twice. It made me cry and laugh a ton but now i need a new book. I want something light, but i'm not sure if i want to dive into my Rick riordan series or if I want something else.

Sounds like you all are crushing your reading goals! amazing!
