So, my fiance Jeff (acidpops) and I are both rather crafty, seeing as he's an artist and I love to cross-stitch and paint. So, we teamed up on a project that will actually be part of a prize in the Graveyard FC's Fan Fiction contest to be held in June! It was hand-sculpted from white Sculpey with red glass beads for eyes, baked in the oven, then painted, and finally glazed.
If you want a chance to win it, stay tuned to the Graveyard FC!

Tiffanie - Wow, that's the most amazing thing I've ever seen! This exceeds all the expectations I had of what the prize would look like. I know we are going to have lots of entries now!
Everyone who isn't already a Graveyard FC member should definitely come and join, you will have the opportunity to participate in a great contest and might actually win this wonderful prize next month (June). We have a great club, lots of fun stuff you won't find anyplace else, but if this doesn't give you incentive to join, then nothing will! Come check us out.

Macadrian Shackleton-Clark Accidents & Catastrophes | Slytherin House bracelet Cheesy Mac
I decided to make a Slytherin House bracelet, made from Metallic white crochet thread, (48) green 6mm tigerseye beads, and a green button. I used a C2 crochet hook and a large-eyed blunt needle for this project.
I really liked the metallic white crochet thread because the silver strand runs around the thread and when its in the bracelet, it looks like it is weaving like a snake through the bracelet (though it is very difficult to capture this effect on camera because of how small it is).
Here is a full view of the bracelet:
Oh, and I should say that this is only the 2nd thing I've ever crocheted... so it certainly isn't perfect, but I'm getting better with each project

Awesome job on that bracelet. The beads look lovely, and it seems to sit really flat and well too. I'd tempted to make something similar...but I haven't a clue how to crochet!

That looks really awesome, Tiffanie! You said this was only the second thing you had crocheted, and that is just amazing! I love the bracelet, the choice of colors is excellent and the workmanship looks really good - great job!

So, I decided to make a Ravenclaw necklace. I used silver lame cord to crochet the links between the beads, the center of the trio of beads is a 10mm medium blue faceted bead (there are 19 of them in total), the two side beads in the trio are 6mm amber bicone beads (38 total). The length of the necklace is 66 inches (yeah, it is really long and looks best tripled up in my opinion.)
Here are some photos:
I particularly like the blue beads because they're part clear and part blue, so it gives them a very airy quality which I think of as synonymous with the nature of the Eagle and therefore, symbolic of Ravenclaw.

That necklace looks lovely I love the way it looks fine and delicate, with just the silver cord between the beads. And it really highlights those blue beads. I'm becoming a fan of longer necklaces, and I can really imagine this worn doubled up over a pale jumper. Beautiful job!

I did not make this, but by looking at the picture (and having crocheted since I was 8 years old .which means now over 40 years) it seems to be a simple chain stitch with beads pulled up here n there in pattern. VERY Simple. I believe the hardest thing about it will be threading the beads on and guessing how long to pre-cut the thread, as you'd have to do some chain, pull it through as if to end..so you can put on beads..then start re-chaining.
Also, you would have to choose a large enough hook so that the chain is larger than the hole of the beads (or beads with hole small enough to match your hook) so that the beads do not fall through the chained sections.
Hope that made some sense. Looks like how it was done, anyway. It is very pretty. Must have been done with that sparkle or silver lined white crochet thread that many use around Christmas time to craft homemade snowflakes.
