Default Craft Challenge #5: Weasley
Made of Awesome | Ern-la the Best-wa | TZ's Apogee

The theme for challenge #5 is WEASLEY.

Here's your guide:
  1. You have to begin it now, it can't be something you made before the challenge was issued.
  2. It has to be related to the theme in some way, but not necessarily in the most obvious way.
  3. You can use designs you found online or in books, or you can design something original.
  4. You have two weeks from the date of the challenge issue to complete the craft.
  5. Your craft can be any artisan craft medium; knit, crochet, wirework, beads, sculpture (bread dough, sculpey, fimo, porcelain clay, wood, stone, clay, metal art clay, glass, etc), food (cake deco, etc) or any other three dimensional object. Sorry, no graphics or pictures; we have other areas on SS that highlight that kind of art.
  6. You must post a picture for us in this thread when you're done. Include info about it, what it's made of and such. If you want to share your pattern or include process pictures (how you make it), feel free!
  7. This challenge is open and supportive of all levels of ability, from the very beginning beginner to the most advanced artist. All are welcome and praised!
  8. Tell us what you're going to do with your final product; keep it, gift it or donate it.
  9. First one to post their final project gets to pick the theme of the next challenge!!!

This challenge expires on June 1, 2008. (Though members are welcome to continue posting pics of any of their projects relating to the theme in this thread after the challenge ends as well as the previous themes (snitches, bookmarks, house pride, and Quidditch).

Okay, I sort of feel like a cheater for posting this now but, I never seem to be able to get my projects done quickly enough because I can't seem to pick something quick and easy. So, I finished this sleeve and want to submit it as my project. If this is cheating and I need to have finished the whole sweater before I can qualify to post here, just ignore and I'll update with the completed sweater sometime next week.

I actually bought this pattern because it's something I've been dying to make for a while now. It's by Shelle Hendrix Cain and you can get the pattern right from her site for $7, which isn't bad. It comes in sizes M/L and L/XL and is very well written (she's had patterns published before so, very reputable). I received the pdf pattern via email within a few minutes of paying.

This is a great stash buster pattern for all those half-used skeins of yarn you have laying around in various colors.

Rooooonnnnn. I'm so proud of this amigurumi. He took me a good while to make. (He's for sale from my devArt gallery, too)

I'm sorry. I made this for the Weasley challenge, but it looks like I never posted it in the actual thread.

I realize I'm very late on catching up on some of these challenges, but here goes! I just finished knitting the Ron Weasley cell phone cozy, which makes a wonderful home for your cell phone and looks just like Ron's famous sweater (long item in front is drawstring to hold phone inside)!

The directions for this item can be found on line here -
GrittyKnits.com - BLOG

It was fun to make, only took me a day. I had enough extra yarn around to make this project.

Stuck inside with Sirius | *Splish-Splash* | bamBAM | ☁ Spooktacular ☁

It's Mothers' Day here in the UK on Sunday, and last weekend I made the cards for my Mum and Grandma. I was just going to post them in my thread, but I figured they were also the type of card I can imagine Mrs. Weasley making and sending to some of her female relatives. (Plus I think

Both are made with Paper Cellar 6x6 papers, with ribbon detail. The beading on the left card (seen in close up) is actually a bracelet that can be taken off. I wanted to learn the technique for in future so bought a set with instructions. Its from The Beadery Selections range, and took quite a while to make! Its done in three parts, and the pink flowers are made separately and threaded on at the end.
