If you need healing, this is your first stop. Miss Caroline F. Avalon doesn’t like people who talk while she’s trying to work and it can get quite busy in the hospital – you all just play so rough – so please don’t chat too much or Cari will think nothing of sending you on your way with a firm banishing charm, or worse. She needs to be able focus on what needs healing.

Just like any other hospital, there can be wait times involved. Miss Avalon will get to you as soon as she can, so please be patient while she is up to her elbows in other students who were so unlucky to get sick or injured before you.

Chewing nervously on his thumbnail, Jake entered the Hospital Wing waiting room and hovered by the door. He did not, however, feel unwell (though he had an AWESOME black eye already), but rather required a chance to talk with Miss Avalon. There was something he needed to explain... and of course... he had to apologise.

Siiiiiigh.

Cari peeked up from her potions' inventory. It was the MOST perplexing thing: she could have sworn she had stocked everything, as good interns are meant too, but there seemed to be a few phials of bone-knitting potion missing. Which was INSANE, because she almost always used a charm instead of potions for that. One really only keeps it on hand for the trickiest of tricky cases. The other nurse, her boss, the invisible, yet-to-be-seen, leaves-something-to-be-desired-in-the-guidance-and-supervision-department Head Nurse must have used them for something. But WHAAAAT?

The sight of the little pinkhaired boy interrupted her ruminations.

Okay, she knew this one. Jake Upstead... about 12 years old... subject of Valon Kazimeriz and Anastasia Bunbury's wrath.

Bullies.

"Jake?" she asked, just to make sure, "are you feeling all right?"

Creamed Spinach, should NOT be allowed in a school setting.

Suddenly startled, Jake jumped a little and stared up at the Healer person, pulling his hand down from where he had been chewing his nails. "Er-er-ermm... M-miss Avalon?" he asked nervously, trying to take another breath.

BLAH! Healer people scared Jake toooo much.

"I-I-I'm fiiiine," Jake nodded. "Considering."

Someone had already headbutted him and given him a black eye, he was feeling really BLEH after the feast, but that was more because he was miserable. "I... I... I needed to speak to you, really. Erm, I wanted to apologise, and... Professor Ka-ka-kaz-zi-mrrrurrez-" stupid name for a nervous kid to have to say "-he told me to give you something and read you something... Can I speak to you somewhere more... private?" he asked, feeling a tad more confident.

Sure, nobody was here yet, but it was only a matter of time.

"Please?"

Strange little one... nervous. Could do with a calming potion at the very least. But Caroline didn't tend to hand out those potions all willy nilly. They were serious business you know.

Apologize wha? And what did that Crazy, Creepy old Coot want NOW??

"Alright, but would you let me look at your eye first?" she asked. It seemed Jake Upstead had a knack for trouble. Just what a nervous creature needed. "That's quite the bruise; I can get you a cream for it."

"Erm..." Jake bit his lip, considering it for a moment, casting a quick glance around the waiting room. "Okay then... please," he quickly added, remembering why Kazi always went beserk at him. Stupid manners.

He just hoped he could get this over with soon. The flowers that Kazi told him to bring were weighing down the other hand behind his back, and Jake was beginning to feel increasingly bitter.

Caroline plucked her witch hazel ointment and a clean cloth from her inventory.

She approached Jake like one might approach a skittish animal. "I need you to close your eye while I clean it," she instructed, kneeling down and wetting the cloth with her wand. No point in putting ointment on a dirty eye.

Jake, it seemed, was carrying something behind his back, but if it was behind his back, Cari figured she wasn't meant to see it, so she pretended there was nothing to see.

"Okay, Miss," Jake mumble-whispered, shaking a little in fear as she approached him. There was no doubt about it, he was scared, but he couldn't seem to be able to say anything or make him run. "It won't hurt, will it?" he added, hearing his voice tremble as he closed the eye warily.

Hmmmm... this was better, with the nurse knelt down and all. Jake bit down on his shaking bottom lip and waited, holding his breath for some reason.

Adults = scaaaaary.

The boy has issues. That's all there is to it. Even Tobi isn't that nervous.

Cari swallowed a sigh and quickly cleaned the eye, which was squeezed shut. Oh what a nervous-Neville...

She wiped the eye clean and applied a good layer of witch hazel ointment in short order. You learn to be quick about things when you have 3 siblings, and quicker still as a healer.

"Well, how about you tell me?" she asked, remaining kneeling on the ground, "Did that hurt?"

Wincing just a tad when the healer-lady wiped his eye and, like, MEGA quickly put the ointment on, Jake opened his eye a bit, squinting slightly. "Is it done?" he asked, mystified. "That's it?"

Hmm, that was fine.

Suspiciously fine... hmmmmmmmmmm.

"No," Jake shook his head. "I... no, it didn't," he said firmly.

Now... he wanted this next part over with.

Cari laughed. "That's it Jake. The bruise is already fading." She handed him a small mirror from one of the large pockets in the front of her dress. "See? It'll be gone totally in a day, maybe two."

She stood up, "I'm glad it was a painless procedure. Now, what did you want to speak with me about? Did you still want to go to my office?"

Or the office which she moved into because no one appeared to be using it. Why work in a cupboard if you don't have to?

Taking the mirror, Jake gave his eye a quick glance and nodded. A couple of days...? He could deal with that. "Thank you, Miss," he smiled gratefully, handing the mirror back.

"Erm, I had to talk to you about the feast, so... erm, yes, please. Could we go to your office? If you don't mind," he added hastily. "I'm not, like, demanding, I swear!"

Don't want that, now do we?

Ah the fateful feast. Where Caroline had made friends and influenced people. Really. Totally.

Right.

"Jake, if you don't calm down I am going to have to give you something for your nerves. And it doesn't taste good. So could you just, take a breath?"

Cari lead the way to her office. "come in and have a seat," she said.

Lettie wandered her way inside the waiting room, holding her hand out in front of her, and wondering where Ott had gone too.
'Boys are weird...maybe he stopped in the bathrooms nearby.' She thought as she took a seat on one of the benches and laughed as her Maine Coon cat, Ornlu, jumped onto her lap again. "You need to stop following me." Leticia said, though she really didn't mean it.

The healer lady said she would be here somewhere, but it was entirely possible that she was busy. At least her hand wasn't still broken. She sighed and closed her eyes, almost dozing off as Ornlu purred loudly.

Concerned for his friend Lettie, he wants to make sure, she got to the hospital wing unharmed. Sitting down next to her, he whispers, "Sorry, I thought I spotted Willie, but it wasn't him. I hope I find him soon...I feel horrible about what happened."

Cari appeared at the sound of a cat purring. She liked animals, she adored them actually, but it really wasn't okay to have animals in a hospital.

"Leticia," she said, making her 'Nurse-face' "You have a very nice cat, but they aren't allowed in the hospital wing. That said, if you're only here for a bit of bruise paste, I can let it slide as long as you make sure it leaves with you. If you need to see me about something else, he has to wait in the corridor."

Poor Kitty. She didn't want to banish the furry thing, but sterility people!

"Yes, well, I suppose you should." Lettie raised an eyebrow at him, "And it is partially my fault I guess...if I'd have known that the boy wasn't able to have sugar of any kind, he wouldn't have gone completely haywire. And if that never happened, then he wouldn't have had to sit at the front of the Great Hall." She let Ornlu jump down to the floor and sniff around a bit; his big poofy tail held high as he trot around the small area in front of the two students.

She let out a sigh, "I just want to get that bruise cream, and be done with this whole thing."

Lettie looked up from her seat, "Oh, yes, Ma'am." She said and grabbed Ornlu again. "He follows me, sorry." Leticia continued as she set the animal on the seat next to her.

She nodded her head eagerly, "Yes, I am here for the paste. Thank you."

Shaking his head, "No it wasn't your fault at all, I should have figured someone would be under the table. I mean there are how many kids here. I'm surprised it was just the two." he adds with a laugh.

"I wonder if the bruise cream will get rid of the aching...?"

Lettie grinned as she got up to speak with the healer, she had the same thoughts about the cream. But surely if the bruise was gone, so was the pain...right?

Cari scooted to her shelf of creams and came back with a small jar of bright yellow Calendula Bruise Paste. "It will," she said absently, removing the lid. "Calendula's are one of the oldest and most effective healing agents. They're integral in some of the best magical pastes, ointments and potions to heal bruises, abrasions and burns. And as the bruise heals, the pain will go with it."

She looked up at Leticia, "Now, let's see that hand shall we?"

Give the cat to Ott? Oooo, that wouldn't be good. Fur and uniform shreds everywhere. "He won't go anywhere...I promise." She turned to look at Ornlu, who was sitting down on the seat still, his yellow-green eyes opening and closing slowly, and his tail swishing very slightly. He was still purring slightly, and watched everything unfold in front of him.

"Oh good. So I don't have to worry about banging it on something and crying again." She smiled to the healer and held out her dark purple hand, waiting in excitement to be all better and not have to worry about the injury anymore. Lettie could smell the ointment already, it wasn't too bad, though there was a lingering scent that indicated that it was strictly for medical use, and that eating it would be very bad...not that anyone would of course, but one never knew.

Glancing at Ornlu, he wonders if he'll come to him. Patting his lap, he hopes he won't be mad, at him. Wishing now he had that piece of apple he had left on his plate.

When Lettie mentioned hitting her hand, he couldn't help grinning, Not that it was your fault that time he thought, due to Willie and eating under the table.

Caroline's face twisted up in sympathy. "Oh there is nothing worse than smacking a bruise." Well there are a few things, but best not to mention them. No need to scare the child. "Anyway, we'll just put some of this on you and you should be fine by this time tomorrow."

Cari donned some rubber gloves and rubbed the bright yellow paste onto Leticia's hand. "The paste won't hurt me at all," she explained, "but it's messy and I don't need healing, and it's quite effective."

Smoothing the paste over Leticia's hand Cari gave her a loose fitting white cotton glove. "You'll want to wear this until it dries, it should take about 20 minutes. And if it's still bruised and sore tomorrow, come back, but I'll be shocked."

"Yes, Ma'am." Lettie said as the woman rubbed the paste over her hand and told her not to worry.
Ornlu meanwhile flicked his dark ears back and forth, only glaring at Ott as the boy tried to coax him over. Just to be a bit smart, Ornlu seemed to give a yawn, quickly followed by a sneeze that sprayed onto Ott's pants. His tail slowly waved back and forth as he went back to watching the paste.
Leticia scowled at her cat slightly, 'That wasn't nice.' She thought and sighed to herself. Leave it up to her cat to find something fairly gross to do and use it to his liking.
Before she knew it, the healer was giving her a glove, 'Wear it? K.' Lettie carefully put it over her hand and smiled at the healer. "Thank you very much, Ma'am. I hope I won't be back tomorrow." She turned and found Ornlu exactly where he had been the entire time. He seemed to realize that things were done and hopped down from his seat in order to follow Lettie.
"We're done, Ott." Leticia said and grabbed hold of the boy's wrist, making to leave the hospital wing.

Ricco had been searching for the girl named Lettie for a while now and decided to check somewere that he knew she had to visit, The Hospital Wing. He knew she had to go there to get the paste for her hand. Walking into the hospital wing he saw her her dark blonde hair laying over her face as she talked to the Intern that had given him into trouble at the feast. Ricco had decided he should just wait at the door for her to finish up.
