The Ravenclaw common room is a wide, circular room at the top of the seventh floor. Graceful arched windows punctuate the walls, which are hung with blue-and-bronze silks. During the day, Ravenclaws have a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Overhead, the ceiling is domed and painted with stars, which are echoed in the midnight-blue carpet. There are tables, chairs, and bookcases, and in a niche opposite the door stands a tall statue of white marble: Rowena Ravenclaw. A delicate-looking circlet has been reproduced in marble on her head with the tiny words 'Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure' etched into the diadem. The statue stands beside a door that leads up to the dormitories above.

Come in, have a seat and make new friends. Welcome to Ravenclaw!

* Satine walked hurried into the Ravenclaw Common Room. She couldn't wait to see what it looked like to see if all the books she read that described even gave it justice.

She was so excited to see the statue of one of the greatest wizards EVER, Rowena Ravenclaw. She looked around to see almost chaos all around her from all of the students coming in. Many looked really sleepy from the Feast.

She decided to follow the crowd until someone stopped her to talk or just ran smack in to her.

The best choice seemed to have a seat in one of the huge chairs and wait for someone new to say hello. She pulled Gemma, her chinchilla, out of her back and into her lap and started petting her as she curled up for a nap.

Satine faced the door and watched as students came into the Common Room. She smiled and said "Hi" to everyone hoping someone would stop and talk before bed tonight.

Copernicus Kettleburn was absolutely relived the feast was over. He entered the common room and fell into one of the deepest chairs near the fireplace. There was no way Plymouth OR Celandine would be able to avoid him parked right here across from the door.

Karma made her way into the common room, spotting a familiar face. Daaang boy, he definitely changed over summer. But, he still seemed to be the moody teenager he was last year. She walked up behind him, ruffled his hair, and then kneeled down next to his chair.

"Something wrong, Copernicus?" Karma asked. She folded her arms on the armrest, and laid her head down to look up at him. "You seem a little distant."

Finally. Now there was no doubt that he was a Ravenclaw. He was in the common room and everything. Although his overly-excited attitude from the feast had gone down, Kel was still very happy. He was at Hogwarts...in Ravenclaw...happy. Weird.

Not knowing what to do, he made his way over to the couch and sat down, staring blankly at the fire and not noticing anything around himself.

Satine sat up a little bit straighter when she saw a familiar face sitting on the couch across from her. She waved slightly to see if he recongized her. Once he nodded his head, she smiled, "Hey Kel! How was the feast? I noticed that it looks like your making tons of new friends." she stopped and realized that she wasn't really sure what to say next...she knew everyone was probably tired of the small talk that they'd been having at the feast as they waited to be dismissed.

She continued, "So, did you sign up for Quidditch tryouts on your way up?"

"Karma," Cope smiled warmly at the older girl. She was his first real Ravenclaw friend, other than Plymouth... bad thoughts, move on. "Not distant so much as... kicking myself. Long story, actually. But I'm doing well. How are you?"

Kel looked up when he heard his name. Seeing Satine, he smiled slightly, one corner of his mouth lifting up. He got a bit self-conscious when she commented about him making new friends - he really hadn't met anyone else. He'd been talking to Rachel and Mariel the whole time...he knew them already.

Oooh...quidditch. "Sign up? Um...no. I didn't see a sheet..." he frowned. He'd have to sign up...he wanted to, at least.

Karma nodded as he spoke. Kicking himself, she was doing the exact same thing in all honesty. She made a face of slight disgust, then smirked.

"I know how you feel," she said. "I'm doing the same thing in a way. I'm good, other than that."

She shook her head slightly and then put her head back on her arms to look at Cope.

"Long story, meaning girl problems?"

Watching as Gemma crawled beside Satine's lap to curl up in front of the fire, Satine continued, "I heard some students going out onto the Common Grounds to sign up for Quidditch and I thought of you," she blushed after saying that...she didn't want that to come out the way it did, "I mean...I thought of you because I knew you had been thinking about signing up and you're new like me so I made a mental note to tell you where they were headed when I saw you."...she hoped she fixed that comment...not really sure, she smiled and looked at Gemma...

"Essentially... yes," Copernicus smiled slightly and shook his head. "Fell for absolutely the wrong girl and messed up every relationship in my life in the process, if you want to know. So that's my summer well spent. And you've... experienced something like this too?"

As usual, Willow did not pay any kind of attention to her surroundings.

So when the five feet four inches tall, Ravenclaw female entered the common room, she did not aknowledge anynone. In fact, she didn't take her forest green eyes from the blue clipboard Professor Vindictus had handed her during the feast. And why would she? Quidditch was an extremely serious business, after all, and the sooner she pinned the announcement at the board, the sooner would tryouts take place, and thus the entire Quidditch season.

Flipping her curtain of dark hair the back, the girl made a beeline towards the announcement board and pinned the sign.

Yep. It was bronze and blue. Perfect.

Done with that, Willow turned around, and for the first time since she'd entered the common room, her forest green eyes finally spotted some of her house mates that were lingered around the room.

One of her perfectly dark eyebrows raised at them. Had she failed to notice the? No, that was not possible. She was, after all, one of the most observant girls around. Riiiight

Which obviously meant that the other Ravenclas had all arrived together, as strange as it sounded. Yes, well, it wasn't her fault that they just traveled in packs. Perhaps they were dependable on other people? Maybe they did not appreciated to walk around the halls alone? How ridiculous. But then, weren't teenagers ridiculous hald of the time? Sure she was one, too, but that did not mean she was like them - or at least that's what Kovac told herself.

But no matter, for she was not about to waste an opportunity in which she could order suggest people to sign up for Quidditch tryouts.

Shrugging her shoulders lightly, the girl started to walk towards the place where the majority of them were gathered. Clearing her throat in a way that meant she was claiming their attention, she started, "Can I have your attention, please? Yes? Perfect." She was NOT going to wait for them to answer - and even if they didn't want to hear her, they would have to, "As the Quiddtich captain, it is my duty to announce that try outs will be soon. So if you are interested, I suggest you all to sign up for them as soon as possible." And after giving them all a stern look, the girl claimed a seat close to the fire, took out the latest version of The Snitch from the insides of her robes, and started to read.

Karma winced slightly as she listened to his story. That really has got to hit below the belt, probably in more ways than one. He was spilling his guts to her, and in a way it was nice to have someone who could trust her again.

"You could say that," she said. "I ended up losing the guy I fell for the hardest because I was so busy over summer. And when I ran into him on the train, he had a new girlfriend. Needless to say, it wasn't pleasant."

Kel choked back a cough at Satine's words. He held back a smirk when she tried to explain what she said - she was kinda funny. "Oh, yeah. I'll have to see if I can find it tomorrow, I suppose. But now...I'm fine just sitting here." he said confidently, then grimaced. Of course he meant sitting here in the Ravenclaw common room...

"I wonder if Jasmine's up in my dorm," he mused randomly. It felt weird to think that his owl would be up in the owlery...she was always with him. Maybe she'd stay in the cage near his bed.

"We should start a Sad Saps of Hogwarts club," he gestured for her to join him in the other chair by the fire. "I'm sorry you had to go through that, although any boy who couldn't understand that some things about summer are set in stone isn't worth your heart break. If you don't mind my saying..."

Trying to decipher his comment about just sitting here, Satine tried to read his body language...she hadn't meant to make her statement sound odd, but apparently it wasn't what she said but how she said it...she felt her hair turning pinkish from her embarrassment...dang emotions...trying to act normal, she flicked her wand to pull her hair up into a twist...

"My mom wanted to get me an owl, but I didn't like the idea of the owl being so far away from me in the owlery, so that's why I just fought to bring Gemma. She finished glancing at the chinchilla at her side, " She can go almost anywhere with me and she's pretty sneaky so I can send her on special scouting missions like stealing food from the kitchen in the middle of the night if I ever get hungry, but after that extra long feast and nibbling the whole time to keep from falling asleep, I think i'll be full for a month." she finished looking around anxiously at the common room...it was filling up fast and crowds kind of made her nervous...

Karma got up to sit in the chair next to Cope. She laughed slightly at his suggestion for the club. She listened to him speak for a moment, and paused before she answered.

"True," she said, nodding. "I just still feel bad though. I just can't be mean to some people, and you know that. It was just one of those things, I guess."

She sighed, and ran a hand through her hair. It was nice to talk to Cope again after not having had the chance.

"But enough with the sad stuff. How was summer for you?"

"I didn't ask my parents permission." he admitted, shrugging. "They told me to buy an owl...and I liked Jasmine. Of course, when they found out that I bought an elf owl, they flipped and bought a real owl." he rolled his eyes at his mother and father's stupidity, not even bothering to wonder why he was telling Satine this.

Following the girl's glance, Kel saw the chinchilla. A faint smile coming to his face, he cocked his head to one side. "That's your pet?" he asked, sounding a bit rude. But really, he was quite interested. He'd always wanted an interesting pet... "She's something," he chuckled, watching the animal closely.

"Psh, yeah. The food," he added, smiling again. "The amount of it would've made Ginly pop a gasket," he said with an amused tone. His house-elf would've been amazed to see the array of food that there was at Hogwarts.

Jule walked into the common room and her eyes widen. It was better looking then what her dad had told her. Then again, he was a Slytherin back in his day so he wouldn't know what the ravenclaw common room looked like. She looked around for someone she knew and found Satine.

"Hey Hun. Happy to finally be in the common room?"

Listening intently to his story about his owl, she wondered why they would've flipped out over a house elf, but since he moved past the subject figured that was a subject for another day...well maybe...

Reacting to his cocky and faint smile and rude ton of voice, Satine smiled mischievously... "Yes, this is my pet...I've had Gemma for years...she is very different from most peeps' pets...which is why I like her the most...I like to be a little bit different...and as I said she doesn't have to stay in the owlery..." okay so the last part was a mean sting but his voice had meant he deserved it...she finished her statement with a wink that change one of her eyes to a different color to let him know that she was just picking on him...."trust me she just might surprise you...she's pretty amazing and full of tricks...watch this..." Satine looked at Gemma and said "blue"...Gemma's eyes changed to blue...Satine smiled devilishly....

"Well, the common room is getting covered up with people and I'm not good with crowds. It was great running into you. I hope you have a great first day." Satine finished and stood up, picking up Gemma...she turned back to Kel, "..maybe I'll see you around." she finished as she ruffled Kel's hair...she wasn't really sure if she meant that or not...he had been kind of weird tonite and she figured he had started realizing that he was a third year and she was a first year so neither could be friends with the other...or maybe he was just tired...

She turned and walked away hoping that she hadn't angered one of her first Ravvie friends.


"Yes, very much so, I was going crazy sitting still in the Great Hall."

His smile got bigger as he watched Gemma. "I must say, I'll know never to underestimate the critter," he admitted, nodding. The rodent was different...so was Satine. In a good way, of course. She seemed like a good person to get to know better...Kel actually found himself hoping that the two of them could become friends. Which was a crazy thought...ugh. Hogwarts was already messing with his head.

"Oh, alright." he said cheerfully. Looking out the window at the night sky, he smiled. He'd always liked night time, it was nice to be awake when the rest of the world was sleeping. It gave him chances to think. "See you around -" he agreed, then groaned. What was with girls and ruffling his hair?!

...Maybe it was just rufflable?

"See ya," he said, surprising himself by laughing and shaking his head. He waved a hand dismissively, but smiled at the first year. He waited a few minutes, staring thoughtfully at the fire. Feeling a bit bored, but not tired yet, he got up and headed for him dormitory.

...sixty one...sixty two-- It was sixty two steps up to Ravenclaw tower.

A tall young lady entered the common room, and immediately stopped. She pocketed something that was gripped in her left hand. Nothing much is odd about her outfit--camoflauge pants, white tee under a chocolate brown jacket, black boots, and dark, black, round sunglasses--but the girl herself is odd. She turned her head slowly in all directions, before facing front. Her face is indifferent, hard like a drill instructor. A moment passes.

Dammit...Reaching back into her pocket, she pulled back out a slender, white object. Giving it a sharp shake downwards, it extended with five quick clicks. Backing up a pace, she finds the doorway again.

She walked almost at a definate march, but slowly and shakily. One, two, three, four, five, six... It was eight paces to the left that she found one of the study tables near the windows. Remembering the description of the place, she turned 183 degrees, and began again. One, two, three... It was another six paces to an armchair. Three paces past that--the sofa.

Sitting slowly, she leaned back, folding her arms. Collapsing the cane again, smiling to herself, Ari pushed her glasses even closer to her eyes, keeping them hidden.

"me too! i thought i was actually going to sleep on the long tables."

Anise walks behind a row of first years. His heart is pumping fast, he could not wait to see the common room. "How will it look like? How large it will be? What colour it will be?" his mind is shooting question after question which makes him rush on to the front runners. The prefect boy of Ravanclaw is leading them to the seventh floor. It was at the top of the castle. From there he can see the mountains nearby, which stood strong.
Finally they reached the common room. All the First years are looking at the amazing room. Anise looked stun at the great view of it. He is rotating himself by looking at the top. His eyes stretched to it's fullest length. The fireplace, tables, furnitures, portriots, Ravenclaw's Statue all are simply amazing.
For a fraction of minute he forget all about the world. Suddenly he feels a hand on his shoulders.

Tino's dark head popped up from the other side of a sofa. "Done!" he called towards Willow. He beamed at her. He was still riding the euphoria of having 'planned ahead', a habit he had never quite adhered to. This season of Quidditch, win or lose, T.K. would be along for the ride.

The Greek boy gave Willow an enthusiastic thumbs-up, then disappeared behind his cushion again. He had spread his all-time favorite comic books around him, and was planning to spend his first night back at Hogwarts indulging in what his uncle called 'mindless rubbish'.
