As you enter Ancient Runes classroom your eyes instantly flinch to the dim lightening and dull décor and coloring of the room. Walls covered with dark gray wallpaper, hideous thick black curtains covering the windows on each end of the room. A gray desk pulled up against the far end of the room with a nameplate stuck on the front face.



You notice the wood around it been blasted off as if someone was trying to remove it by magic, but you come to notice it’s been stuck there by a permanent charm when your efforts go to waste. Each item in the room has Ministry of Magic logo weaved elegantly on its back giving the room a spark of melancholy and seriousness. There is only one portrait on the wall, the portrait of Minister Cooper in a black suit seated behind his desk.

Come in, Professor Fabian Clark will be with you shortly!

Jason Potter Weasley comes in Prof. Clark's office and waits.

Fabian strolled down the corridor towards his office, "Ah! Splendid both of you arrived before i did. Mighty splendid" he smiled at both boys and waved his office door to open, "Please make yourself comfortable, care for some lemonade? Grandma's own recipe!"

" Hi Cale" Jason replied.

Sure ,lemonade would be fine Professor Clark" Jason told him.

"Sure, that would be great, thanks" Cale said, taking a seat in a nearby chair. He was rather thirsty.

I would like some too Pofessor Clark' Jason tells him.

"Excellent!" Fabian grinned and moved over to pour three glasses of fresh lemonade as the boys seated themselves, "its great to see you back at school, even if its no more Hogwarts. But it is always nice to see returning faces" he mused, turned around and passed each boy a glass of lemonade.

"You probably know why I asked you to drop by?" he croaked looking back and forth between each boy as he drank from his glass. "I would request that we solve this matter before any one of us decides to leaves this room. So Jason, how about you start first? What prodded your behavior on the platform? I take you as a person that is potently loyal to his house and friends. Breaking rules or losing points should be on your priority list of rules not to break. Would you believe me if i told you that I'm quite surprised by your behavior?"

" Unfortunately, I found a girlfreind over the summer and wanted to see her all the time" Jason told Professor Clark. " I also thought since I talked more and was highest boy student, I thought I deserved prefect or even Quidditch captain" Jason told both. " I only lost points because I supposedly left Forrestors office too quick" Jason told Professor Clark Actually, I am surprised that you are surprised by my behavior Professor.

"Yes I am surprised" Fabian nodded and leaned on his desk, facing both boys "you never striked me as person to instigate trouble with a member of his own house. In contrary, I presumed you'd take the role of a protector and be loyal to your house. Like any other Gryffindor would" he sighed and paused for a moment.

"Well, you mentioned two points here Jason. Please allow me to respond to both" he smiled tenderly before he continued and flexed his index finger in the air to reflect the first point. "Let me start with the Prefect/Captain selection. The school has its own method in selecting prefects and Captains. I'm sorry you feel left out, but you never know what the future holds. Prefects are not chosen by how many house points they earn nor do captains by how many quaffles they score. But other important characteristics are also taken into consideration. Characteristics the head of house believes will allow them to live up to the role. And picking fights is definitely not one of them, its dreadfully wrong to take it out all on Cale here because he got a badge. He's only trying to do his job and secure his house from losing points" he tilted his head to one side. "If i was in your shoes, I'd probably investigate what Cale here holds to earn himself a badge and follow his role model" Fabian broke off with a smile, "If you had any inquires in that regard you should contact your head of house or the headmistress and not give Cale a rotten time about it" he paused to allow Jason to speak.

" I support Cale now but he made me feel really bad at times because his sister Emma was a good friend of mine and he and Anna ignored me at times" Jason told Professor Clark. "The reason I got upset is Cale was not at HogWarts last year and maybe never" Jason told him. " I might not even had been mad if it was somebody that was at the school last year who had been named prefect" Jason told the professor. " I would like to hear from Cale" Jason told the two.
ooc would be nice if Cale answers or you ask him questionsm too but I am probably wrong about this idea.

"Yes, I'll give Cale permission to speak in a second" Fabian held out a hand, "I'm not finished yet" he paused to flex his index finger back to its prior position. "In regards to ignoring, I'm sure its a simple misunderstanding, afterall both Prefects have a lot on their hands, surely you understand our new housing" Fabian waved an annoying hand towards his office to display his utter disgust and annoyance with the new reform. "And prefects, surely have a lot on their hands to deal with and sometimes one can get delayed in responding or executing" he gave Jason a comforting nod then sipped from his lemonade, "I'm sure it wasn't intentional so i do ask you not to take it too close at heart".

"As for supporting Cale, I'll take your word for it as a loyal Gryffindor and Lions never break their word! So for whatever reason, Cale is the Prefect for Gryffindor House, I'll expect you to respect him and allow him to conduct his job without further harassment. Do i get your promise on this regard?"

" Yes I promise" Jason told Professor Clark.

"Excellent Jason!" Fabian smiled, "I know you of great loyalties and would hold to your word. But if i do catch you harassing him, I will not be pleased and will instigate suitable punishment. Do I have myself clear?" he allowed the words to hang in air for a few moments before glancing at Cale.

"Mr. Newell can you please respond to Jason's previous question?"

"Um, ok," Cale said, sitting up a little straighter in his seat. Jason had covered a lot, but Cale would try to straighten out as much of it as he possibly could. "Well, first of all, the only time I can ever remember not responding to you is on the train, and that's simply because I got distracted. I'm sure you noticed all the chaos that was happening on there. I'm sorry," he said. He hoped to Merlin that Fabian wouldn't ask him exactly what he meant by chaos...the last thing this talk needed was a thirty minute story on Cale's confusing love life. "Then, of course, there was that time at the feast when you thought I was deliberately ignoring you, but I already told you that I hadn't heard you that time."

"And I'm sorry if you don't feel like I deserved to be prefect, and I know it probably isn't easy for you to see me with the badge. It's perfectly true about what you said about me not being here last term. The reason I got the badge was, I believe, because of my good marks while being homeschooled, and I think that after I left from being sorted in the summer--they did that so I wouldn't be sorted with the first years--they saw something in me and thought I would make a good prefect. I'm trying my best because I know that..." he paused and looked up at Fabian. Was he really safe to voice his opinions in here? After his little display of annoyance earlier, he figured this professor was safe. "I know that the Ministry is very strict at Hogwarts this year, and I'm scared for everyone. I'm afraid that a simple slip of the tongue could get someone in trouble, so that is why I have been so harsh. I don't want anyone getting themselves in some hot water with Ministry officials. Trust me, I never planned on being such an uptight prefect, but I'm doing my job, and unfortunately the new rules and regulations here force me to be just a little bit tougher than I probably would be any other term."

He sighed and leaned back in his chair. "Ok, that's my say on the matter," he said with a soft smile.

" Thanks for clearing it up Cale" Jason told him. " Remember Anna and Emma and I had a lot of fun last year" Jason told Cale. " I know I can't do anything about it and especially now but Anna hurt my feelings not just by ignoring me but turning on me at times because I happen to be A Weasley" Jason told Cale and the professor. " See we are still cousins whether there was a divorce or not" Jason said.

Fabian frowned as Cale mentioned the Ministry and all this rotten new changes, "He makes a fair point Jason. These changes are new for all of us" he glanced towards the black curtain covering a portrait on the wall. It was Minister Cooper's portrait, since all spells and charms refused to remove his doomed portrait from the wall, Fabian gave up by covering it up.

"It's new times for us and we have to make the best of it. And it is very true the ministry does have an upper hand on the school, thus Jason you should worry more about that than how people or friends are acting. We're living through difficult times" he scowled at the black curtain.

Fabian flexed his second finger out to mention the second point he wanted to address, "Jason you mentioned a girlfriend" his face fell at those words, "trust me. I'm positively going through the same pains as you, if not worse. But we need to be positively optimistic about it and watch our actions if we want to remain to be close to the ones we love. In the meantime we can use owls for correspondance".

" Great " Jason told Professor Clark.

Fabian raised a brow then scowled some more, "right. I forgot about that. We can not owl" he glared daggers at the black curtain then waved a hand in the air to display that he didn't even mean a word of it. But he was sure Cooper was listening in if he wanted to, he wouldn't dare break his rules. Not now at least.

"We'll figure out a way" he whispered, "in the meantime" he spoke louder after clearing his throat "Are we settled here? Do you want to add anything i may have missed? or want to address?"

"Oh, ok," Cale said, the disappointing shining clearly on his face. He had been stupid to hope, just for a second, that he could talk to Cora and Anna again through owling. "I think we covered everything that I had a problem with," he added. "What about you Jason? I'm really glad we got this all straightened out," he said with a grin.

"Everything covered Cale and Professor Clark" Jason told them. " Oh well, no owls Cale like we want" Jason said sadly.
