Travis took the vine and jumped off the ground. "Woo!" he allowed the vine to swing him back and forth for a while and then placed his feet on the floor, all excitement leaving him. How he loved being away from the ground.

He took the leaves Finn was offering him, took one, and passed them one to the next student. Travis sniffed the leaf cautiously, just as Finn had and then nibbled on the corner of it. Mmmmm!

"It does taste a little like chocolate," he paused as he felt a sudden numbness. "Whoa..." He turned towards the professor. "How much can a person consume before the leaves start having a negative affect?" He looked at the little leaf in his hand. "Can eating the leaves have a bad effect?"

Jose took the leaves Travis was passing him took one and passed the rest on. He smelled it then tried a bit it was good he listerned to what Travis said he to wonder how much could be eated.

Will looked at the plant leaves speculatively. He thought it'd be worth a try, just once... After all, a professor was handing them out. He took one of the bigger bits of leaf and popped it into his mouth, chewing it. It was a strange sensation-- it had the smoky, rich flavour of chocolate with the feel of ...well, a leaf. He swallowed some of his saliva, chewing the leaf, and as it hit his bloodstream will became very, very, very calm. Whoooooooooa. he thought, a goofy smile spreading across his face. "It's really relaxing, professor..." he said. His lips were a little numb and he slurred his words a bit, but who cared? It didn't matter. Nothing really mattered all that much in the greater scheme of things. Everything was gonna be just fiiiiiiine. He yawned.

Will tittered at Barry, his head was feeling all floaty and light. "Oh, Barry, you silly Barry Bear, I'm not going to fall asleep!" he giggled again, nudging Barry playfully. Oooh, the effects of this leaf were really interesting. He felt as though he was kind of in a daydreamy state. Whee. Floaty. Flooooaty. "The leaf's effects are just really niiiiiiice. Like... " he yawned. "Muffins. Muffins are really nice. And Jaimine, she's nice... an' Tommy too." He nodded happily. "And pygmy puffs and bunnies. Puffs and bunnies are really nice. If you put 'em together you'd get.... Punnies!" He snorted and dissolved into a fit of giggles. Punnies. Oh Merlin, now he wanted a punny of his very own- part puff, part bunny, all fluffy cuddleness! He started giggling harder, a silent giggle so intense that tears began to course down his cheeks. PUNNIES!!!!!!! He wondered if he had maybe taken too large a chunk of that leaf-- after all, he was a scrawny thing -- but deep down, he really didn't care. There might be punnies later. He would have to ask the Magical Creatures teacher if they could create this wonderful new hybrid, oh Merlin yes. There would be pretty punnies for everybody!

Still, he realized that it brought up a good question. He raised his hand. "Professor? Is there an antidote to this leaf, like if you take too much of it?" It was a very, very, very gooood question, Will thought, feeling relaxed and oh so smart. Maybe he'd get points. Or a punny. Or even a punny with a muffin. Score!

At this, Will started tittering again. Holy Hippogriffs, this was like potions class all over again, with the pulling out of chairs! "Thanks..." he managed to choke out between giggles. He took Barry's advice and sat down, however, as he was feeling a bit dizzy. Interesting plant, this. They should give some to Lord Borr, maybe it'd put him in a happy mood. The idea of Berty Borr on choco-relaxy-leafies sent Will into hysterical fits of silent giggles... and gave him an idea. Hmmm...

"Professor, would the effects of this leaf be lost if you made it all hot-like? you know, like if you baked it into a cookie, maybe?" Mwhahahahaaa...

Will nodded, listening to the Professor despite still feeling quite loopy. He tried to track Professor Erikson's fingers with his eyes and wound up getting himself a bit cross-eyed. He closed his eyes, shook his head and tried again, this time noticing the scars on the finger's of Erikson's hand. "Whoooooa... Professor... If you don' min' me askin'... What happened to your hand? All six of your fingers have little scars on 'em... Tha' had to hurt!"

Will nodded, still grinning like a fool. He reached out for the vial, though his spatial sense was distorted and he reached right past it. His ears reddened -- how embarrassing! -- and he tried again, nearly sloshing the bit of fluid from the cap as his hand smacked into the Professor's. "Sorry about that..." he said, which sent him into a fit of giggles. He managed to knock back the dose of fluid, and made a face. He blinked hard several times, as his vision started to normalize. "Thanks... that's loads better. But what was that stuff? It tastes like maggot puke." And let's hope nobody asks me how I might know that.

Finn kept an eye on all that was happening with Will. Will did seem to get himself into things. Finn was glad he hadn't actually tried the leaf.

Finn decided to give it a go. He raised his hand to volunteer. He trusted the professor on this.

Travis had watched the seen with Will and would have raised his hand to volunteer to fall unconscious for two minutes but he thought better of it and decided to see what happens to whoever got chosen for the experiment.

Still smirking to himself over Will and his 'Punnies', Nico held onto his leaf and watched with interest as The professor handed a cup to Finn and listened carefully as the Professor spoke; adding the information to his notes. He looked at Will who still seemed a little....elsewhere and mulled over his question about adding the sedative to cookies.

Jose raised his hand and asked "so what happens if you take more than three?"

Finn took the cup from the professor and looked at it. Listening to the professor speak on the effects, he exhaled and prepared to drink the tea.

He brought the cup to his lips slowly and took a tentative sip. It wasn't the most pleasant tea he had ever had, but it wasn't awful either. He took a couple of gulps and thought to himself, I wonder how long it will take. No sooner than the words had crossed the neurons in his brain than he began to feel quite drowsy.

He knew the cup was slipping, but he was powerless to stop it. It tumbled from his fingers as he slipped from his chair. He was out, and oblivious to all around him.

Nicholai flicked his wand, "Accio cup!" the cup flew to his hand and he calmly stood and walked to the unconcious student's desk. He stepped over Finn and placed the cup gently on his table before turning and stepping over him again and returning to his chair.

He counted silently curious to see if the boy would be out for the two minutes the Professor had said.

Jason chose not to touch or eat the leaf.
