As you all know, every house has its own house team, as well as a reserve team in case somebody cannot make it to a match. How is it played? Here are the official rules: Quote: (Keredwel)
QUIDDITCH RULES: How To Play
Chasers and Keepers
The Chasers and the Keeper are basically the most vital players. They are the ones who need to be the most active. To start off, a Quaffle Question will be presented to the Chasers and the Keeper. This question is not for all Chasers though - the questions are asked in turn, so first the Gryffindors are asked the questions, for example, and after that the Slytherins and so on. The object of the game is to be fast.
Example question
Quaffle: How many fouls can be made in Quidditch?
As soon as the question is presented, the Chasers have to answer. If they answer correctly, they gain 10 points. But if the opposing Keeper manages to answer the question first, then the goal is blocked and no points will be handed out. If the Chaser who answers first answers wrong, no points will be given out. If the Keeper answers wrong, he/she has not been able to block the goal and 10 points will be given to the opposing team. Then another question is asked, this time targeted to the other team, and the game follows the same pattern.
Beaters
The Beaters don't have too important of a role, so they needn't be here all the time. Every once in a while a Bludger Question will be asked.
Example question
Bludger: Who holds the record for the fastest capture of the Snitch to date?
All the Beaters can answer this. The Beater who answers (correctly) first has thus hit the Bludger and deducted 10 points from the opposing team.
Seekers
The Seekers must be knowledgeable about HP and Quidditch in general, though they don't need to be so active all the time. At some points of the game, a Snitch Question will be presented. This will be a difficult question.
Example question
Snitch: Who was the first ever person to cross the Atlantic by broom?
The first Seeker to answer it will get a bit closer to catching the Snitch. After "catching" the Snitch three times, they finally really catch the Snitch and the game is over, giving the Snitch catcher's team an additional 150 points.

House points
The points are given to the houses judging by how many points they won the other team by. If, for example, Gryffindor won Slytherin 150-50, Gryffindor would get 100 points and Slytherin none.

In General
And so always the first person's answer is crucial. If they answer correctly, then it's good. If they answer wrong but someone answers correct after them, then it doesn't count. Everything relies on the first person. For additional good luck, the Quidditch team is supported by the fans in the stands and the Cheerleaders. | |

Why you want to be captain:

How much time in average you spend on SS per week:
Practice and performance schedules—how you want to run things (be detailed about this, it is VERY important): Give elaborate information. I need to know what you are capable of to give you the spot. Just so you know: If this is supposed to work well, the captain has to be a very active SS member and should have some experience with cheerleading.
You will be responsible for coordinating the team: Teaching the cheers, holding regular practices and making sure you have enough people online to perform at the games. This has always been problematic, so you must plan it properly. Remember you must take into account that the cheerleaders might be from all over the world, and not necessarily online when you are—but will still want to participate in practices, and games if possible.
Organization is a MUST here.
I know it is not an easy task, but I also know that there are some very capable members in Gryffindor. When applying, keep in mind that you will need to know SS well, and have played in the Hogwarts School RPG already before, and regularly at that. However, anybody may apply. I will pick the best application, and keep my fingers crossed that hopefully this time it will work.

First year house members, you are only allowed on the reserve team, if there is room open. If not, sorry, you'll have to wait until next year.
As for returning members, I have only received 1 response from a member of the House team, so there may be a few spots open.
Please do NOT PM me about openings, I or Amyliaz will post here as soon as we and talk and get things going.

Alright. I am going to go ahead with the tryouts.
Here is a list of vacant positions for the house team:
3 Chasers
1 Beaters
The first applications I will take are from the reserve members from last term.
So if you were a reserve player, please PM me the following info:
Name
Position you would like
Time spend online per week
The approximate time you are online (example: 6-11pm EST) If can be whatever time zone you are in, or you can convert it for me - your choice.
ONLY reserve players from last term PM me this information. All others will be deleted. Once they have selected, I will post which positions are still vacant, and continue from there. Also, if there is any other 2nd yr and up interested, you may PM me the above information as well.
Let me remind you that as a part of the team, you have to do everything in your power to earn house points for Gryffindor (without being destructive). We earn a great deal of points for winning the matches, so I need people on this team we can rely on to attend the games. Also, you need to attend class and do homework. If we find there is a student who hasn't been, they will be given a short period to change their behavior, or we will make a change. This may sound harsh, but we need the best on our team.

ADDITIONS TO THE QUIDDITCH RULES Addition #1
Any player or Mod(with the exception of those responsible for the match) found to have either altered or deleted a post will cost their team the match and 100 points towards the House Cup. Addition #2
Player substitutions must be approved by the Starting Captain and properly posted by the Match official and answers can not be given by a player unless they're in an approved position. Addition #3
Each team will only be allowed 5 substitutions for an entire match so pick your players wisely. If players aren't able to participate regularly in matches then find some that are.

We are keeping you updated. Amyliaz and Professor Phoenix posted about the game, not to mention Spots. If there is important information, we will relay it to you here. We cannot keep posting that there are positions open. Those on the team may ask people in the common room or on the grounds, but we don't want to be real repepetive in this thread. It should be for the information, not asking people over and over again to try out.

I apologise for my mistake. As I had not heard from Kelli if any of the reserve players would be the starting players, I PMed her with the current names and asked her to compile it for me and PM sir_spots. I had not realised that she was not on this weekend. Sorry for the miscommunication and I am sincerely sorry for failing to do my duty as quidditch captain. I promise that this will not happen again and Kelli and I will have better communication to prevent such an incident from happening again. Once again, I am sorry and I hope you accept my apology.
