Food Trolley https://s26.postimg.cc/so0uni5cp/foo...ley-banner.jpg It goes without saying that everyone's favourite person in the train is the trolley lady. Old, plump, and just as sweet as the food she sells, she can provide you with the sugary delights you desire -- from Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans to Chocolate Frogs to Pumpkin Pasties, it is all there in her trolley! The woman comes around during the middle of the journey and is generally the cause for any traffic jams taking place in the corridor. |
It was time to go back to school and Lenora wasn’t ready. She had a fantastic summer doing all the things that she enjoyed, went to the beach ( which was so much FUN ), met with friends.. and now, it was time to study again. Sigh. She’d found an empty compartment somewhere near the front so she got settled in for a bit before rushing off to find the trolley lady. Yes, she was in the mood to eat! .. and a queue. Just great. She stood in line, thinking about what she wanted to buy. Hmmmmm. |
Austin headed back to the trolley lady. He had been there before. He saw another student was there. He gave her a small wave and stood there. He had some money in one hand and his notebook and pencil in the other. |
.... Lenora frowned when a kid she didn’t know at all just waved at her. Was she going to wave back? Well.. she supposed that would be the polite thing to do. She hesitated for a moment before giving him a small wave back. He looked tiny, probably a first year. She accompanied the wave with a very awkward smile before turning around. Why wasn’t the queue moving?! Honestly, she was already starting to get impatient. Sighing, she folded her arms, waiting for line to move because she was hungry. Ugh. |
But she's the first one in line? Austin frowned and looked away, putting his hand down. He could tell by the tension in the air that waving was a mistake. He bit his chek and focoused on something else in the train, the color of the carpet. |
For Nicoleback & tol Maxie (also acknowledging Lenora) Drew always came on board the Hogwarts Express more prepared than the term before. In fact, he'd already found himself a compartment and settled his things so he didn't have to worry about much. He even had food and more books in his bag. He also had food for the pre-feast, because he knew how long the sorting and the speech could take. He still never forgot to offer half of his grilled cheese sandwich to Kenzie. All part of the routine. But nevertheless, he was still in line at the food trolley for the simple reason that Drewett Slinkhard was craving for sweets. Was this a weird growing teenage boy thing? Just wanting to eat everything? His stomach was an endless pit. Waiting in line, the fifth year offered a small smile at Lenora. Drewett made a mental note to fine her later on. |

Hunger had driven him out of his compartment (he had forgotten the lunch Damien had brought him), but he was beginning to think food wouldn't be worth it. There was a line, a proper one with many kids he recognized (... like the very curly-haired girl from the world cup) and knew to be the talking types. Maxie hunched in behind an older Ravenclaw boy - slinkhard, trying to appear as inconspicuous as possible. was it working? not at all. |

And that sometimes sucked because when Drewett didn't know what to do, he usually became very conscious of his surroundings. So when a taller, definitely older, kid stood in line after him, he was starting to feel very sandwiched. As if walls were closing in on him. His senses were being too active lately. Hang on. That wasn't... an older student. If anything, Drewett never forgot a name that he would associate with a face. And the student behind him was definitely someone from a lower year, he was positive. Kowalski...or the Hufflepuff chaser with a longer surname. Whichever. The Ravenclaw took a peek behind him to be sure (it would have bothered him the entire train ride if he didn't) and he found himself....looking up....at the younger boy. ......Merlin's beard, imagine the growing pains for this one. Drewett quickly smiled at the boy so he didn't seem awkward. Except that was exactly what a Drewett P. Slinkhard was: awkward. |
Sarah / Avery Holly was starving! Having left the house so early this morning to get to London on time for the train, she’d eaten waaayyy too early to still be happy and not hungry. So, here she was -- standing in the queue so that she could get something to eat. Something, that hopefully was better for her than all of the sweets that she had packed away in her trunk. Like a sandwich or a salad… even pasta would be great. Hmmmm tuna pasta salad would be really good. ….. Did they even have that here? Unsure, she pulled her curls into a high, messy ponytail and joined the end of the short queue as she twirled a strand of hair around her fingers. |
Analiese E. Allanach-Senchuri was famished. That wasn't exactly strange. She stood behind an older girl who looked like a third year. She was counting the coins she had into her palm when she saw Austin, a boy she had seen earlier. The 11-year-old gave a little wave and continued counting. 6 galleons and 13 sickles... 6 galleons and 14 sickles... Analiese wondered what she would get from the food trolley. What did they even sell there? She could worry about that later. Instead, she wondered what Hogwarts would be like. And what house she would be in. Probably a Ravenclaw, even though she wanted to be a Gryffindor. Her mind was drifting away from Hogwarts and towards the fact that all the other students were towering over her. Again, she mumbled, " I hate being a midget." Just why couldn't she be taller? She was only 4'2"! |
Austin smiled at Analiece. Sorry about earlier. He quickly wrote down what he wanted from the trolley. |
Open! Hanna felt the rumblings of her stomach and slid out of the Prefects Compartment for some food. And... well, to do her patrol. Ahem. Heading towards the food trolley, nervously jiggling some coins around in the pocket of her robes. She was trying to keep an eye out for Lena, wanting to say hello, but was hoping she was off doing her own thing. She didn't want to disturb her. So, she looked at the trolley and tried to decide what she wanted to buy. |

Tad was feeling famished. He had breakfast earlier before the train ride but now after some time he was starving and could do with some sweets. He didn't have to worry about money luckily in his family, so he was comfortable with getting almost anything he'd like. Hmm... He was partial to the beans, chocolate frogs and pasties. But he would be willing to try other stuff. The line was... well, not that packed but fuller than usual. He looked around for something to take his mind off the wait... "Hanna? Hey!" He waved, not that he needed to. He was a good few inches taller than last term. "How've you been?" |

The line refused to move. Refused. Point blank. Maxie was certain this was some kind of punishment. For what? He didn't know, but he was certain it was- maybe it was that awful dreaded Anderson-Belfort curse his father had warned him about? Or- maybe- just maybe- it was lunchtime. Still averting his gaze from the curly-haired young woman down the line, Maxie had been much to busy to feel Drewett's gaze until he found himself quite accidentally locking eyes with the older boy. He jumped. No, really- he jumped, such was his surprise and vexation. Red-cheeked and wide-eyed, Maxie hurriedly glanced away. This was very not great. Very. So very not great that the young Hufflepuff considered (sincerely) turning away from the line and making a run back to his compartment. To niko. To safety. To privacy. Instead, he felt words pushing to the front of his mouth like a waterfall. "Erm." Was that technically a word? From Maxie Anderson-Belfort it most certainly was. "E-Excuse m-me." He managed a second later, rubbing the back of his long, goose-like neck as a grimace found it's way to his -still- beat red face. If everyone else in line could just look away... that'd be great.... |

Wait. What. Merlin. WAIT. Drewett twitched in his place and sort of ducked his head because Maxie was definitely taller and what if his long limbs sort of hit him? Perhaps it was some sort of defensive mechanism. "I-I'm sorry! D-Did I startle you?" Of course, it did. You know it was just something when Drewett's stutter began to worsen, and he had been going through therapy during the summer to ease himself. Speech therapy worked, by the way. It was a miracle. But this situation was just so incredibly awkward that he couldn't contain his stammering to himself. ......Could the queue move now, please? Drewett wanted to poof, like disintegrating into nothingness. Yes. That would have been greatly needed in trying times such as this. |
