If you suffer from FOMO or just want to be in the involved with everything, then the middle passenger cars of the train are for you. Just like the other cars, a long corridor provides access to the many compartments, each labelled with a letter, available for you and your friends to hunker down in until the train has come to a complete stop. Cushioned seats and large windows, allowing perfect views of the British scenery on your journey, await.
Well, what are you waiting for? Slide open a compartment door and make yourself at home. Place any of your belongings not in the luggage car on the racks above you. Chat with your friends about what your summer plans, enjoy munching on the snacks you bought from the trolley lady, get ahead of the game by exchanging addresses, or take a long nap as the train travels over numerous hills and mountainsides. Whatever you do, exhibit your best behaviour -- the prefects will be regularly patrolling the corridors and poking their heads inside your compartment to make sure you are doing so.

What. A. Term. Between being regulated to being a reserve player for her house’s Quidditch team (which completely messed up her chances at playing professionally, by the way, thank you, Bel), Noble completely overlooking her for prefect after Daisy had to give it up and on top of that being turned into Cousin It, it had not been her year. Basically, she was just glad to get out of that place and get home. At least she’d passed her apparition exam.
Spotting an empty compartment, Archer made her way inside, closing the door back behind her, slinging her bag on one seat and herself on the one across from it with her legs stretched along the seat so that if anyone wanted to sit there, they would have to sit on them.

Tired of the stuffiness of her original compartment, Nettie decided to take a stroll and change scenery. True, all the compartments were exactly the same. You saw the same things out of the window. Still, her original one had had a weird smell to it. So, she had packed up Rudy in his kitty carrier and found one that was closer to the middle of the train.
Finding an empty seat, she sat down and made herself at home in another compartment. Ahhh yes, much better in here. True, she supposed she could have just sprayed some of her perfume in the other one but...effort.

So was this officially it? Was she really a fifth year now? Still a fourth year? It was hard to tell on the train ride home, but seeing as she'd completed her whole fourth year, calling herself a fifth year just seemed right. It also made her feel like one of the older kids, which was new and exciting for her!
The now-fifth-year made her way down the train's corridor, trying to seem much cooler than she really was. It was too bad she didn't have a huge group of friends to make this walk with. Oh, well. There was always next school year. Spotting Nettie make her way into a compartment, Torii followed behind the slightly younger girl and poked her head inside the compartment.
"Hey, Nettie!" she said. The girl looked much better without all the fur. Although, so did Torii, come to think of it. "Ready for summer break? It's going to be awesome having some time away from school." As Torii said that, though, she thought about how much of a lie that was for her. Since her mom and dad's death, going home was just a painful reminder.

Aaron didn't have a destination in mind when he boarded the train for home. These rides never seemed to last too long, so he could've sat with anyone, really.... BUT... he spotted one of his teammates towards the middle and that seemed to sort his decision for him. He politely knocked on the door to the compartment.
Reserve or not, Archer had still been crucial in their championship win!
"Mind if if join you?"

Nettie looked up as Torii, the Slytherin Nettie seemed to always be running in to - literally - and smiled at her. "Hey Torii!" she said with a smile as she moved to make some room for her. "Hope you don't mind if I let Rudy out," she added, as she had been in the process of letting him out of his carrier as Torii had entered. The grey and white cat jumped in to Nettie's lap almost immediately, using her as a stepping stool as he placed his front paws on the the window and began to watch the scenery as it went by.
"YES. I am SO ready for a break," she answered with a heavy sigh. This term had been...difficult to say the least. If this ended up being her worst term at Hogwarts, she would be 100% ok with that. Because she had at least SURVIVED, which wasn't always a given at this school. "I'm doing the U-17 team in France too," she added with a smile. She was looking forward to returning to her home country and getting to know some of the people who WOULD have been her Beauxbatons classmates if she'd gone there.
"So, I saw you getting the cure at the Hospital Wing. What happened to you? My hair grew like crazy. I felt like Rapunzel - I was chopping it every other night, and it still just kept going," she said with a small chuckle. Now that it was done with - they could joke about it, now. At least Nettie could.
