Dungeon Corridor https://s26.postimg.cc/jkthqlimx/corridor-banner.jpg After descending a narrow spiral staircase accessed through a door on the left side of the Entrance Hall, you can immediately sense a change in temperature. In spite of the numerous torches that are scattered along the stone corridor, the warmth emitting from the flames isn't enough to keep those goosebumps at bay. Movement is your best source of heat down here, so you had best keep on walking forward at a brisk pace. |
Even when Headmaster Scrimgeour isn't standing directly in front of you in the Great Hall or during a Defence lesson, he still has managed to remind everyone of his presence. Every hour since the first day of classes, from the morning wake-up call to the calling of lights out, his gruffy voice booms from the school loudspeakers. "With the exception of the morning S.O.R.E., uniforms must be worn at all times outside of the common rooms. Ties are to properly done, shirts tucked in, trousers ironed, and shoes clean." Now that it is October, have the school rules been engrained in your mind yet? You had better be following them ... or else. |
He’d lost his rucksack and it was a disaster. He’d spent what had felt like FOREVER completing the most recent Divination assignment, making sure it was absolutely one hundred and ten percent perfect so that Professor Fletcher didn’t have any excuse to punish him with more physical torture. And it only got worse. Losing his rucksack meant that he had also lost the most recent issue of Veela Vampire Slayers!! and he hadn’t even read it yet. So it was a panicked Max that marched down the dungeon corridor to begin the frantic task of retracing his steps. Had he left it in the Great Hall? Maybe the library??? Where else had he even been today!?? What if someone picked it up and it was gone forever!? |

Which is why it was very fortunate that she had found Maxton Carden here. Well, fortunate for her anyways. Because Max wasn't the type to get in trouble and hopefully he could help keep Zoryn out of it as well. She had already received a threat of expulsion. Didn't need to test it out. "Max, Max, Max," she wore a VERY amused smile upon seeing him. Especially in whatever frantic state he was in. He was quite amusing even on a normal day, did he know? But today, he looked especially frazzled. Which was saying something. "You look anxious," no point in denying it, honestly. "What's the matter?" Also, she still planned on snogging him. FYI. |

Under normal circumstances, Max might’ve been suspicious because he very VERY much doubted she was down here in the dungeons to put in extra hours in the potions lab, hah. These weren’t the normal circumstances though. And there was nothing amusing about the scenario so he didn’t know why she was smiling like that. His rucksack was GONE. Poof! Nowhere to be seen. Of course he looked anxious. This was a catastrophe. “Where did you just come from? Were you in the Great Hall? Did you see a rucksack?” He didn’t mean to bombard her with questions, but…… asdhkajsda. |
An expected occurrence each and every day, Scrimgeour's low and rough voice booms from the school loudspeakers on the hour without fail. Certain events that transpired throughout October and early November brought with it a number of new school rules, whether you are in favour of them or not. It is better best that you not tune out the headmaster if you wish to avoid point loss, detention, or worse. "Upon arrival to class, all students are to remain standing, without speaking, until the lesson begins as a sign of respect." Hopefully you will be able to keep these rules straight ... or, if you dare, you'll choose not to. The choice is yours. |

"A rucksack.... Hmm," she paused in thought. Or pseudo-thought. It all felt the same, really. "Yeah, I think so. Did you lose yours?" Obviously, yes. Otherwise he wouldn't look like he was about to burst into a hysterical fit. Zoryn kind of liked the hysterical Max. He was much less awkward than the normal Max. No offense. "What color is it?" Because maybe she had seen his rucksack. (((spoiler alert: she did))) She immediately recognized it too. He'd worn it around before and surprisingly, or maybe unsurprisingly, she noticed the things people wore. Fashion was of high importance, ok? And she'd help him get it back too. Eventually. |

It was hard to keep the relief from his face though and Max set about describing his rucksack in great detail because he needed her to be EXTRA sure. “It’s grey. And it’s got a bunch of pockets on the front….. and on one of the pockets there’s a skull and crossbones that my little brother drew this one time. Oh, and one of the straps is broken.” But that was fine because he wore it on one shoulder like the cool kids anyway. He took a breath and waited for the news. Hopefully it was good news. |

"Max, Max, Max," she started, walking a circle around him. He was really cute when he was squirmy, did he know? "Why would I ever lie to you?" She liked this game a lot. A lot, a lot. Again, she paused. Putting a slight bit of thought into her next chosen words. "Yup, definitely the one I saw," she nodded. Zoryn liked to play with her food before she ate. Only, she wasn't sure what she wanted from Max in exchange for his rucksack. A snog would be a good start, but she wasn't desperate to cross him off her list and if she asked for a kiss, she'd look desperate. And Zoryn Spinnet did many things, but she would never do anything to make herself look desperate. She had a lot of pride, you see. It was one of her most Gryffindor qualities. |

Ummmmmm. The circling thing literally made him feel like Zoryn’s prey. And she was like the scary predator. It made him feel all kinds of uneasy and Max gulped. He didn’t like this game. He just wanted his rucksack and the copy of Veela Vampire Slayers! inside of it. It was technically contraband now and he didn’t want it getting into the wrong hands. Although if it did, he could totally argue that it was educational. He didn’t want it to come down to that though. “Okay cool…..” More gulping. “Ummm… I’ll just go get it then…..?” It was supposed to be a simple statement but for some reason his words came out more like a question. “The Great Hall, yeah?” So he’d just….. be off then. |
HI SORRY SORRY SORRY idk if you still want to play but incase asdflajf SORRY Quote:
Some people were incredibly hard to read. Maxton Carden? Not one of them. He just about looked like he wanted to melt into the ground. Zoryn was THRIVING. "Relaaaaaaax Carden," she laughed, reaching her hand out and setting it on his shoulder. She flashed him a smile, tracing down his arm with her index finger. "You're so tense." Did he know? "That really can't be good for you," she began walking around again, but stopped once she was behind him, putting both hands on his shoulders and massaging his back. "Very tense." Was she in her element? Yeah, maybe. "You have some time, right?" She didn't wait for his answer. "Why don't you tell me what's got you so stressed out and then after I'll help you get your rucksack back." |
Quote:
Relax wasn’t really part of his vocabulary. It was impossible to relax with a lost rucksack though and it as even more impossible to relax once Zoryn placed her hands on him. If anything the gesture made him even more tense and his shoulders instinctively raised so that Max resembled a nervous tortoise trying to hide in it’s shell. “It’s cool. I’m relaxed, I’m relaxed.” Who was he kiddng? He really wasn’t. He didn’t want her to know that though. He awkwardly wriggled out of her grasp and leaned back against the dungeon wall where hopefully he was safe from another impromptu shoulder massage. “I’m just stressed about my rucksack, I guess.” That much was true. “I have this comic book in there… Veela Vampire Slayers and it’s the new issue and I haven’t even read it yet and it’s gonna be totally awesome because the last issue ended with this cliffhanger and —“ And he was going to stop before he went full on nerd. |

"You're a horrible liar," Zoryn smiled. She could help him work on that, if he wanted. Lying was something that came to her easily. Typically, she opted for blunt honesty, but her track record of trouble meant she had to lie every now and again. So obviously, she'd do it well. Zoryn Amari Spinnet wasn't an amateur by any means. She sighed as he wriggled away, but otherwise didn't protest. She was only trying to help. Sort of. What he said next though, that was an interesting development. The wide opening of her eyes and tutting said as much. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Who knew that Prefect Carden was just as guilty as the rest of them? Certainly not this Gryffindor. "Maxton Carden with a comic book, don't suppose that's educational reading... Doesn't that make it contraband?" |
Quote:
CONTRABAND. "Shhhhhh!!" Blue eyes widened and he quickly threw a look up and down the dungeon corridor. This was Noble's territory... was she INSANE? He didn't take her for a snitch, but you couldn't be too careful. Especially these days. He hadn't expected Derf and Jessa to snitch on Professor Kennedy and get him fired but that had been a whole thing. So. What would even happen to a Prefect caught with contraband??? If she'd thought he'd been anxious before, it was nothing compared to how anxious he was feeling now and Max started pacing up and down. asjkhskfsd. "You're not gonna grass on me, are you?" He gave her a panicked look. He had to check. But just in case.... "If -If you swear you'll keep this quiet, I'll.... do your next Charms assignment!" |
