If you want to be the last to leave or want to hang with the more rowdy crowd, then the back passenger cars of the train are for you. Just like the other cars, a long corridor provides access to the many compartments, each labelled with a letter, available for you and your friends to hunker down in until the train has come to a complete stop. Cushioned seats and large windows, allowing perfect views of the British scenery on your journey, await.
Well, what are you waiting for? Slide open a compartment door and make yourself at home. Place any of your belongings not in the luggage car on the racks above you. Chat with your friends about what your summer plans, enjoy munching on the snacks you bought from the trolley lady, get ahead of the game by exchanging addresses, or take a long nap as the train travels over numerous hills and mountainsides. Whatever you do, exhibit your best behaviour -- the prefects will be regularly patrolling the corridors and poking their heads inside your compartment to make sure you are doing so.

The BACK CARS! That's where Maddie wanted to be. She was going to a big T-H-I-R-D year next school year, and she was no baby! Babies sat in the front like she did when she was...a few months younger. Yup. That's right. Just a few months ago, she was TWELVE, and now she was THIRTEEN and an official TEENAGER. WHOOOOOOA.
She obviously thinks she's all grown up.
She opened a compartment door and slid in. EMPTY. Completely empty. That might also be because she was one of the very first to board the train, though. Maybe one of her friends or somebody she at least knew from classes needed a seat, too, and would come sit with her. The train ride always seemed soooooo long.
She swung her still short legs back and forth as she listened to the sound of silence. Her mind drifted to that owl she'd received from her mother not too long ago. A surprise trip to who-knew-where was waiting for Maddie! She was still holding out for Disney World in America!

With a bag of delicious goodies in her purse, Vi made her way through the compartments trying to see if there was anyone that needed help with stowing luggage or if there were any troublemakers. If there were troublemakers, she wasn't going to be too too tough on them. It was the end of the term and she wanted this to be a fun ride back to London.
As she passed compartments, she stopped when she saw young Maddie Kemp sitting by herself. Huh? What was she doing? Lost in thought.... or something else? Vi knocked on the glass of the compartment door and then slid the door open. "Hey Maddie! Mind if I join you?" she asked with a grin.

"I was thinking about Disney World!" she said, a look of excitement spreading across her face. "My mom wrote to me and said we're going on a surprise trip somewhere. I'm really crossing my fingers for Disney World!" It was SUCH a muggle place, but Maddie really wanted to go! "So what are YOU doing this summer?" she asked, deciding to allow the girl who'd joined her a split second to get a word in.

She grinned at the younger year when she offered her to sit down in the compartment too. Fantastic. "Great! Thanks," she said with a nod as she took a seat across from the younger year. Her eyebrows raised at the mention of Disney World. Disney World? Oh yes, she had heard of that place but had never visited. When she was a child, she had always longed to go. Where was that? The States or somewhere else?
"Disney World?" she repeated with widened eyes filled with joy. She had seen photos and heard stories from friends but had never been there herself. Magical characters, fun rides, and more. That just sounded utterly incredible. A fun break indeed. "I've never been there before. Have you? I heard that it's supposed to be the happiest place on Earth."
"I'm settling into an apartment and then.... hopefully going on a vacation. I don't know where but Mel was talking about doing a trip to Australia. Kind of a world wide vacation. We'd go to several countries and just explore!" she grinned. Talking about the summer was easing her mind and soothing her thoughts about saying goodbye to the beloved castle. "Then I'm off to university in London." She was pretty certain that she was going to accept that WU London. It was her number one school after all.

I've never been either, but I hear it's so much fun!" The second year fidgeted in excitement over the very thought of going.
"An apartment? All by yourself?" Maddie asked, amazed. Maddie would probably accidentally burn the place down, even though she knew all sorts of charms to help with that kind of thing. Never mind the fact that she couldn't use any of them outside of Hogwarts. Her eyes widened at Olivia's words. "Whoooa, your trip amazing, too! You're going to have the coolest summer ever!" Maddie just couldn't wrap her head around someone leaving Hogwarts and then getting an apartment all by themselves. Then the girl mentioned University, and the second year was just amazed. "What are you going to study there?" she asked.

Vi was enjoying Maddie's enthusiasm. The girl was a literal ball of energy and her excitement was infectious. A bigger smile appeared on her lips. "Which Disney World would you go to? I know of the one in the US but I believe there's always one in Paris and Japan...?" she said with slight hesitation. She had heard of the one in Paris but the Japan one.... She wasn't entirely sure of that one. "Either way. It sounds like it will be a blast. Do you have a favourite disney character?"
An apartment by herself would be cool but she def needed to save money. "Maybe eventually. First I'll be sharing with Etta and Prim," she smiled. Two of her closest friends. And after that maybe she'll live on her own. Who knows? Maybe Ace and her would move in together? Her cheeks turned a slight shade of pink. Maybe..... It all depended on how things went. If they continued to be the same as they were currently, then it seemed as if they may be together for the long-term. Moving in and then.... Nope. Not yet. She chuckled. "Almost as cool as a trip to Disney!" she said with a wink. And as for university... "I'm in their Wandlore program. I will be focusing on charms and divination my first year while apprenticing in wandlore. I love wandless magic."
