Etta stepped into the dueling arena, feeling a little more confident this time around. Not that she hadn't done well in her first duel but.. her reflexes had been quite bad and she'd spent way too much time thinking and analysing. It had to be instantaneous, right? As long as she was quick on her feet, she would be fine this time.. hopefully. The girl took a deep breath and smiled at her opponent, the ravenclaw prefect. "Good luck!"

The girl cast a feather-light charm on herself first. It was weird how she hadn't thought of using this spell in her previous duel. It would have helped a great deal. Anyway.. She decided to start with a Ventus Duo. Simple but an effective spell , yes? She stood in a ready position, ready to throw up a shield any second since spells were going to start flying towards her soon.

Unlike her previous duel where she'd worn spiders in her hair, this time she came in a simple black bow in her loose hair, combed over the front to make neat forehead bangs. "Thank you, good luck to you too," she said as she bowed. "I promise to not use any painful spells!"

She took her spot and watched as Etta cast the featherlight charm on herself (I have to learn that spell, she thought to herself) and sent a Ventus in her direction, which she easily sidestepped. Then she aimed her wand at Etta and said, "Silencio," followed with a trip jinx.

Yeeeeah, Etta had been prepared. She cast a protego... just in time as the spells hit the shield. That was close. A little bit too close. If she had waited to put up the shield a second or so later, those spells would have hit her instead. And Silencio was one of the worst spells to be hit with in a duel, really. Good one, Kitty.

She sent some purple firecrackers first.. an easy way to distract the opponent, yes? And immediately cast another one. "Tarantallegra!" She said confidently, watching as the spell went flying towards her opponent. She stood ready once again, but she couldn't help feeling a bit pleased at using that spell. It was something so different from the spells she normally would have used.

SPOILER!!: points
Spells cast -

Opponent Points:

Additional Effects: If spell being defended against is deflected back at the opponent (and is successful) the opponent takes the damage of half of the spell directed back at them. See post for full details.

Tarantallegra: Causes victim's legs to dance uncontrollably

Kitty hadn't come with her signature spider look, it seemed. Not that it mattered or anything, it was just an interesting observation. Did this mean she was going to go easier on her opponent?

We'll see.

The answer? No. Because no sooner had the duel taken off, Kitty was already shooting Miss Kramer with a spell that, had it hit her, would have given the Prefect a good upper hand in this situation. Good move, indeed. And a good move from Miss Kramer for protecting herself against it before she could get hit by it. It did seem as though the girl's reflexes had gotten better since her last duel.

It was a shame that the duel hadn't lasted much longer than that. Hirsch almost didn't want to let it end now but, considering the fact that there were others waiting to duel themselves, he couldn't let the two continue. Sorry, girls. The shield was struck up between them before Hirsch found it safe to enter the general duelling area himself. "Well done! Very well done to both of you. It's clear that there's been some improvement." Which did made him happy. "While you've put up a great fight, Kitty, its you, Miss Kramer, who've taken the lead in this round. Congratulations!" Pleased? She should be.

Stats:
Henrietta Kramer: 106.67%
Kitty Valentine: 88.81%
