A fireplace may seem like an odd addition to a library as paper and fire don't tend to mix well. However, since the librarian believes in the power of a good book and a warm fireplace, there is one located in the library. A charmed safety gate covers the fireplace to prevent students from getting any "bright ideas."
Surrounding the elegant fireplace are several comfy chairs and couches. A chest to the side of the fireplace contains small blankets and throws. Library patrons are encouraged to curl up and enjoy a good book accompanied by the sound of a crackling fire.
The librarian stops by occasionally to wake up any sleeping students. She does not approve of anyone sleeping through classes on her watch.

Sam had been studying at the tables earlier, and for a good while, too. But the chairs there were getting uncomfortable and he was getting tired of revising, so to the fireplace it was. A smart choice, mind you. The seating was much comfier, and the fireplace made it quite cozy. A little too cozy, in fact, because it wasn't long before the third year felt his body reaching that perfect temperature and his eyelids gradually drooping down over his eyes.

Genny had three reasons that usually pushed her to walk into the library: 1) Finding Nick 2) Finding Davie and 3) Finding Sam. There was once a fourth reason but it was now... nonexistent from her world (*insert dramatic pause here*).

She grunted at those who demanded she got out of their way, if only the tower of books didn't hide their faces, they should be able to get out of HER way. Smirking, Genny gingerly knelt in front of him and thought for a moment. Or, as his eyes fell upon his friend's amused face, more like nothing.
"Really, Genny?" He pushed away the grogginess in his head and shifted his position so he was sitting up. "You're lucky I can't get up to the girls' dorms."

Sam grinned a little bit because he knew how that last nickname would get on her nerves. He rolled his eyes for a second time when she made fun of his presence in the library. "It's called studying. Maybe you should try it some time - might expand your little brain." Smirk.

There was always an incentive when studying with Maggie, it meant when the whole reading thing got to be too tedious he could negotiate kisses in exchange for his efforts. It was a great system, a very highly motivating system. Perhaps though not always effective in the completion of study. Still, some study was better than none. No?
Zeke had taken the liberty of claiming one of the couches by the fire for themselves, a small pile of books to one side at his feet, and another propped open on his lap. Beside him he had a soft throw rug ready to envelope his girlfriend in.

Which turned out to be too far away so decided to shift a little on the couch and lay her legs on his lap. Yes. That book he had there. It would have to go.

"My head's just fine, thank you." But she was moving to a seat - or armrest, rather - and they were moving on with subject matter. Hogsmeade. Now that was something Sam, like every other third year at this school, was especially looking forward to. "Everything. Honeyduke's, of course. And The Three Broomsticks! Those are at the top of my list. What about you, what are your plans?" A butterbeer actually sounded like it'd be quite nice right about now.

It was becoming increasingly more difficult to care about Transfiguration with every second that passed, which is why he had the back-up books should he need them. Defence, Dark Arts, Arithmancy and Curse Breaking. Yeah, he might have been over prepared, no biggie. All thoughts of study were forgotten the moment he heard Maggie's voice.
"Hey, girlfriend," he replied, welcoming her kiss but wishing it had been on his lips instead. Boo. Her legs on his lap were a happy compromise he supposed and instantly his book was closed and relegated to the arm rest. Regardless, he was too in the moment to worry about that now. It was future Zeke's problem.

His head was full of too many things if you ask her. But she let that go since they were discussing something more fun! "WELL." She said excitedly and a little too loud which probably earned them a glare from anyone passing by. "Well." She corrected her voice disciple. "I want to go to Honeyduke's, of course." DUH. "And I was thinking I could try the Salon there but The Three Broomsticks now sounds such a daring place!" Her dad never let her in there when they went to Hogsmeade with the family. Now, though, there was no dad no mom no nothing! "I'll go with you there." Yay! So much excitement. "And Zonko's shop. I want to see what's new there." A couple of pranks did some people good around here.

It was almost a shame that he was so close to her, too close to notice the blush in her cheeks... he loved blush in her cheeks.

It was almost a shame that he was so close to her, too close to notice the blush in her cheeks... he loved blush in her cheeks.

The kiss was VERY much appreciated, just FYI. "Mhm." Good. They agreed then. Not that she'd really expected Zeke to have anything against her proposition. It definitely worked in his favor after all. So it was set then. Her eyes flickered back over to the bookshelves behind him to make sure they were still alone. Not that they were doing anything against the rules right now but just making sure, you know.
Maybe that new librarian was as particular about her library as Flamsteed had been about his Astronomy tower.
Reaching up to play with Zeke's hair, Maggie's gaze returned to his eyes when he spoke up again. "Exactly." She grinned at him. "And it'll be different after graduation. Like, there won't be any more rules or people telling us off or anything." Which was both exciting and also kind of...not. Regarding what they were currently talking about anyway.

That was one of the reasons why they worked.
Zeke's retort earned him an amused smirk and a boop on the nose. "Touché." Just because she didn't go LOOKING for rules to break didn't mean they wouldn't find her. But see, she was so innocent in all of this. It wasn't her fault. But sometimes rules just didn't make sense. Or they didn't go with what she wanted to do so....surely people would understand that.
Aside from rule breaking though..."Where are we going this summer?"
And no, Cairo wouldn't be enough. They were STAYING there longer after all. Cairo didn't count as a holiday destination anymore now.
