Here it was, the Slytherin common room. Xavieria had asked her father to describe it to her and, as with all things he said, she'd taken his word as gospel. However, she did know that it had been a long time since he'd seen the inside of the Slytherin common room, so there was a little room for error or change.

Quietly taking in her surroundings, Xavvie gravitated towards a window and watched with delight as she was almost certain she saw a merperson pass.

Yes she finally got to get back to her home. Climbing through the entrance way she first spotted a young girl.. didn't she just see her get sorted. "heyy you, welcome" she was happy to see her watching things swim by. That's one of her favorite things to do also... plus sleeping.

As usual, no one could say the school term had started off boring. It was just good that Brooklyn hadn’t particularly been concerned about the contamination of her food after the juice incident. The fact she’d ended up with Maggie, of all people, in her lap was a bit more annoying, but she’d gotten over it. As long as it didn’t happen again. There weren’t many she let get that close to her after all, and even less who actually were still attending. Which brought her thoughts back to the juice incident, actually. What Nat had done was uncalled for, really, but she did understand getting annoyed by feeling ignored. The contrast was that she had better ways to get back at people. Ways that didn’t affect innocent bystanders, although she honestly didn’t have any revenge planned. She hadn’t wanted attention at the end of last term, not with the risk of breaking down.

She felt she was enough past that now that she didn’t mind attention. Although, as she’d walked inside the common room, she’d still merely given Echo and the younger girl watching the lake out the window a nod as she’d made her way over to her usual couch to curl up, idly sucking on a sugar quill as she watched the fire.

Xavvie was in the middle of wondering if she had just seen a merman or a mermaid when she realized she was being spoken to. Dragging her gaze away from the window, she glanced up at the girl who was speaking. The obviously older girl... who was rather friendly. "Thank you." She smiled, feeling a little bit more at home with every second that passed in this common room. "Did you see that merperson too?" Just checking, you know, in case it was some kind of Slytherin trick.

Although it was still rather quiet in the common room, she did notice that there was another girl nearby who had acknowledged her. Another older girl. Xavvie was pleased that the older students were so polite, so far.

Hady took Head Girl duties seriously already. She had waited for all the first years and any other new students to join her before making her way down to the Dungeons. Along the way she had answered any questions anyone might have had as well as pointed out things of interest along the way such as classrooms and professors offices ect.

"And this here is our common room," she announced letting them all inside the room as she stepped aside. "Girls your dorms are down that corridor there," she pointed towards the left, "boys yours are that way," and she pointed towards the right. "You'll be sharing rooms in groups of four by year, names are already listed on the doors for now and all your belongs are already in the proper rooms." This always made it easier she thought. Those you were with in your first year were typically those you were worth throughout your entire time here.

"Have a look around or if you're tired you can go find your dorm, if you need any help Hugo and I are always around." As are any of the other Slytherins should they need anything.

Hady glanced around at all the new faces checking to see if anyone had any questions or problems. She had noticed Brooklyn, Echo and another younger girl (Xavierie) already there and sent a nod and smile their way.

Turning back to all those that had walked into the common room with her she grinned. "Oh and everyone...welcome to Slytherin!" The best house of them all. Yes, she was being biased and she didn't particularly care right now.

With the feast done, Dalton had hung back so as to avoid the massive swarm of first years heading out of the hall and to their respective houses. He knew that new students - especially when in such a big group - had a habit of loitering and being generally slow, a fact proven when he caught up to them at the top of the dungeon stairs, although having left the Great Hall a good five minutes after them.

So maybe he should let them enjoy the castle and find it fascinating, but he really just didn't care. Impatiently darting around them as soon as they'd entered the Common Room, he flopped himself in a seat at the back of the room, raising a hand in greeting to Echo, and thereby the young girl she was with.

The feast got Hugo tired and it was supposed to be a good moment to enjoy food and friends but some people decided to ruin that. He did his usual Prefect duties along with the help of his new co-prefect aka Head Girl aka Hady aka Frankie's girlfriend. He missed Dot though but Hady was doing a good job so far so, no problem there.

After giving instructions to the younger ones and showing them the dorms, he decided it was time to go to his, but first he stopped when he saw Brooklyn sitting on a couch "Sleepy?" he sat next to her.

Even not entirely paying much attention to the others in the room, especially as the rest of the students had started coming in, Brooklyn had noticed the reaction from the girl by the window. Another one who knew how to act, which pleased the redhead even as she’d continued to suck on the sugar quill and watch the flames. It was definitely a promising start, even if there hadn’t been much at the feast that had seemed too promising. She’d survived relatively unscathed, so she was putting that behind her.

She’d sensed the person sit next to her on the couch moments before they had said anything, and she’d only stopped herself from delivering a swift dismissal once she’d heard the single word that had been spoken. More, the voice that had said the single word. “Not particularly,” she replied simply, turning to look at Hugo. She was curious why he’d stopped, especially since he actually looked kind of tired. Yet she didn’t say anything, instead waiting to see if she’d find out why he’d stopped to speak with her.

His belly full of food Andrei took his first steps into what was now hie home, the Slytherin Common Room. It was glorious! everything was so ...so ... SLYTHERIN.

His eyes darted around the room for a short period before he slouched into an armchair that almost engulfed the slim 11 year olds body

Hugo nodded and yawned. "Pretty tired day" he was glad he didn't have Head Boy duties, he only had to worry about Slytherin which was enough for him.

"So, why you sent me an owl at the beginning of summer?" and sorry I never replied back? He wanted to get straight to it but obviously wasn't going to ask at the feast and also there were other things he wanted to ask because he was feeling confused.

The yawn hadn’t slipped Brooklyn’s notice, even as she didn’t actually let on that she’d noticed much. She’d already chosen to let him sit there, so that also meant he had every right to fall asleep if it so happened. Although that didn’t stand to reason that she didn’t want to talk to Hugo. There was a reason she hadn’t ignored him in the first place, so she’d merely nodded as he had spoken. “It’s been a long day.” She agreed with him in that respect, and he hadn’t had to deal with a likely firestarter on the train. Just the juice incident at the feast, to her knowledge.

The question had been rewarded with a bit of a sideways glance, before she gave in and shifted to face him. If he was going to ask, she may as well give him her undivided attention. “I wanted you to know where I was. What was going on,” she answered quietly, as if she expected that no one else would hear her. Who knew who might be listening after all, but she’d expected that question earlier. Giving him an answer wasn’t that big of a deal. Even if it only created more questions, especially since she doubted he knew exactly how privileged he’d been to get that owl.

"oh yeah! they love to pull tricks on you though" she told the girl "they swim by and do things that you dont think is possible and they swim off so fast, and you can swear that they are laughing and the face your are making...." oh those merpeople, always up to something.

"are you excited to start your first year?" it was an honest question and this little girl looked like she could bounce off the walls with excitement.

Seeing her friend/headgirl come in she smirked. Giving Hady a nod that says "sup" all over it she moved her head and followed her with her eyes... she was taking the newbies on a tour... Hady was so freaking cute. and she said welcome to Slytherin

"SLYTHERIN!!!! YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH WAHHHOOOOOO" she didnt care how many people looked her way, she was proud of her house. woop.


The first of the year was actually quite fun, she got to see some faces that she had missed over the summer holidays. Seeing Dalton wave her way she smiled and spoke to her new firstie friend Xavvie "see that boy over there, the one whos waving at us.. thats Dalton.." Echo waved back

"HEYY Dalton!" smiles for you dude.

Out the corner of her eye as she walked the younger years around helping them learn where everything was, Hady spotted Echo. The nod didn't at all go unnoticed and she received one in return being as she was still talking and welcoming the new snakes. After the welcome she heard Echo's shout of 'Slytherin' proud. It was perfect honestly and she was glad someone did something like that, get them all pumped up for the best house. She smiled laughing softly under her breath.

Hugo agreed with Brooklyn. It has been a long day and especially with everything going on with Nat. He was soooo ready to go to bed but right now he was having a conversation he was very much interested to have a long time ago.

He waited for Brooklyn's response and didn't expected her to talk much since she barely let him know what was going on on her mind; but this time she didn't answered with one word. Hugo nodded, "I see. Were you okay?" or better said "Are you okay?...And I'm sorry I didn't replied back" yeah, he...had a lot going on. Kind of.

As far as Brooklyn was concerned, anyone who said that it hadn’t been a long day was lying. At the very least, she hadn’t felt like she was getting any argument from Hugo. He hadn’t exactly fallen asleep on her either, which meant either he wasn’t as tired as he’d let on or he actually was interested in the discussion. She’d had enough of those to think that it was probably the latter, but then she still knew she’d told him more than she told most people. Even before now, however little that actually was.

In that way, she didn’t blame him if he’d been surprised by her response. Honestly she was still going to believe it was simply that she was tired. She just wasn’t sure if she was tired from the day or if it was more tired of the game she was unknowingly involved in. However, she hardly had expected him to nod. Part of her had expected him to question her words, not for him to accept them for what they were. She wasn’t even entirely certain what they were, aside from the whole sort of giving up thing. And she definitely was surprised by what he actually said, or more what he asked. “I don’t know. I guess so,” she replied, shrugging a little. “Honestly I don’t know if I would have written back if you had replied. It was a weird time.” All she’d wanted while she’d been in the States was to be able to come back to London.

Hugo nodded. Yeah, guess it wasn't the best time to write OWLs? After her grandpa passed away. Anyways, the real matter was that there were rumours running around and Hugo had been avoiding it, kind of. Because he had asked her before about them but Brooklyn didn't said much but now he was starting to feel confused and just wanted to make everything clear.

"So..." Hugo started "What's up with the rumours? You like me?" he went straight to it because he was tired of hearing things he wasn't even sure about and would preferably hear from her the truth. And also he could give his perspective and thoughts about it because at least she deserved it.

The fact her response had been received without question made Brooklyn feel a bit more at ease. Some people might’ve questioned it. Might’ve said that isolating herself wasn’t the way to go, but then in all honesty, the first month or so of summer break, all she’d wanted was to get back to London and the people she felt the most comfortable with. Even some she wasn’t comfortable with, but at least they were familiar. The current silence didn’t bother her one bit. It gave her time to think, even if the thinking only brought her back to wondering why he hadn’t interpreted her earlier answer the way she’d expected him to.

Until he’d suddenly broken the silence, and almost instinctively she had found herself glancing round as if to see who might be listening. Part of her knew that it didn’t matter. It would get out one way or another, but that didn’t mean she wanted to give certain housemates the triumph of knowing they were right. Of hearing her say it. Instead, she’d shrugged. “Rumours are rumours. There isn’t always fact in them, but…” She paused. “Would it change anything if I said yes?” She had to know. She had to protect herself somehow, in case she wasn’t going to like the response.

That was it! She was done! She couldn't take anymore of classes. Why wasn't it Christmas break yet? For someone who had just gotten back her stress level was as if she had never left. The homework and makeup work she had was just atrocious. She sat down on the couch and let her heavy bag fall to the ground. Playing with her bracelet she got for her birthday and tried to relax.

Turning she laid down on her stomach and opened her bag. Pulling out a chocolate frog she started to munch on it as she got comfortable near the fire. Good thing about dropping Runes she had the common room almost to herself while everyone else was in their classes.

The third year had a problem as well. The amount of work he had allowed to pile up had gotten ridiculous. It wasn't like Tak was trying to purposely not do his homework. But every time he did sit to do it, hours would go by, and he would have a nearly empty page. So what was the point? He tired turning things anyways, when they got too late- but somehow he didn't think giving in a paragraph for a threefoot long assignment was going to help him that much.

Signing he rubbed his face as he took a seat on the couch next to a girl he had seen a few times before.

Someone was there in the common room with her. She knew more were there to, but this one decided to pick the couch she was on to sit as well. He couldn't have picked any other place to sit. Moving her feet to give him more room she continued to eat her chocolate frog. Turning her eyes on him she watched him without saying anything. She really wasn't in the mood to be social, but she really had no hiding places anymore. Since coming back she had a group of friends that kept eyes on her all the time.

"Skipping class or just a few period?" She had dropped a class that gave her the free period, but she didn't know others schedules. Not that she hadn't just skipped before, it wasn't that uncommon.


"Want a chocolate frog?" She was about to get another so she thought she'd ask and not be fully rude at this point.

The girl was now talking. Tak focused in on her and raised a brow lazily. Free period? "I'm thirteen. A third year." And third years didn't get free periods. Which means - of course, that he was skipping.

"Sure?"

She just looked at him and nodded, a third year. Not that there was anything wrong with younger students, but she wanted the time to herself and now she had a younger student right there and skipping. "You know as an older student I should tell our head of house you aren't going to classes." She gave a bit of a smirk, but really telling on the kid would be effort and honestly how many had she missed over the course of being here? Though she did have a valid excuse most of the time and the healer to prove the excuse.


She turned to face him more still laying down and moving her feet to stretch out again, whoops if they are touching him, but not really caring either. She was there first. Chewing her chocolate frog she watched him a bit. "So what class are you skipping? " She was just curious really on what he felt was to hard to go to.
