Skylar had spent the entirety of the train ride from London to Hogsmeade asleep. It was really quite a wonder she hadn't woken up with sharpie all over her face but it also meant she was WIDE AWAKE at the feast and eager to meet all her new housemates. She wasn't the baby anymore, even if she was still one of the younger second years having just turned 12 in the start of August. Speaking of second years, where were Vivian and Hattie on the train? Had she taken a compartment all secluded that they hadn't seen her? Probably likely but if they had seen her she wouldn't had gotten her much needed sleep and would have been dead at the feast.

Taking a seat somewhat near the front of the Slytherin table, but not too close, so she could get a good look at the new and returning professors as well as her new housemates. The brunette surveyed carefully the faces up there, noticing more new than old it seemed... Eyes wide open, hand resting under her chin, Sky was sad to see a couple of her faves - Ansley and Tanner - no longer there. But her disappointed didn't last too long as she noticed Tanner's replacement. She had judged people before whether they were pretty or whatnot, but as she studied the man in the Arithmancy professor seat, there was something different about this one. There was definitely something in the numbers about this one, wasn't there? And was it just her, or was it getting kinda warm in here?

Katherine Toussaint flounced to the Slytherin table. Flounced. She was a third year now, which made her old hat at this whole Hogwarts thing, and she was ready to feel like the expert she obviously was. Look at the precious little firsties getting Sorted, all shaky and nervous and pale.

They were hers now.

She nodded at the girl already seated at the table. Not a first year, but perhaps she could be Katy's as well. "Hiiii."

Niomi was ready for a new term and a new start. If she wanted to succeed in school she better start participating more than she was previously in her Hogwarts years. One thing she wanted to gain in life was social interactions and friends. Last year, she didn't have any friends. The friends she has are two years older than her and already gone from Hogwarts. This year, Niomi is determined to have new friendship no matter the age.

When the Hogwarts Express arrived, Niomi hopped right off the train and to the school. She was very determined to show up first to everything and so she did this year. Niomi arrived to the Great Hall early. A small handful of students were present in the massive, beautiful, candle light room. The Slytherin table was pretty much empty, expect for one young girl. Lifting her head up, Niomi headed towards the girl. Time to make new friends, Niomi thought to herself. She had to remind herself that if she wanted new friends she would have to try. Here is an opportunity for a new friend. The girl looked young. May first year? Niomi didn't care though. Maybe she could help the girl in school.

Sitting down next to her Niomi said, with a big smile on her face, "Hi, I'm Niomi."

How does one student know where to exactly sit at the opening feast? Sean never really notices a lot of things. Is it that professors put some kind of sign on the front that says 'Slytherin' or 'Ravenclaw' for the student to know that oh hey, we sit here together. Not a big deal though, just something he realized while walking towards the great hall.

Sean is in his Slytherin uniform as he made way towards his schoolmates. Sitting in one corner of the table, he looked around and smiled at almost everyone. So I'm guessing the guys come in later? he thought. He also looked around for whoever are the prefects and head boy or girl.

There are utensils in front of him, the thought of food made him lick his lips subconsciously. Tonight is the feast to welcome everyone and everybody. Bring out the headmaster, Sean wants some cake already or anything wrapped in cheese and bacon. Now that sounds awesome.

Sixth Year Slytherin.

Yeah this was gonna take time to sink in. After his interesting train ride especially with Matt and Dora. He was grinning after seeing Dora because it had been a while. He got his appropriate robes on and made his way down to his house table. He saw it wasn't all the way filled in which was fine by him. He could find an easy seat. He found one right in the middle of the table so he could see who the new professors were. He squinted and saw some new faces. He nodded toward all his fellow housemates.

He looked down at his dish and saw it was empty. Welp that was problematic for his stomach.

Still a bit put off about certain comments directed toward her on the train, Brooklyn had still walked into the Great Hall in her usual manner. Head held high and as if she was royal, even if deep down she knew that the now-long-gone Professor Bellaire probably would have frowned upon the fact she had only changed her shirt before she’d put her robes on, leaving the skirt that she’d worn on the train on. At least it followed the dress code as per length, and she figured nobody would disagree with her that it was much more Slytherin than a boring plain black skirt. Not that anyone could particularly see it under her robes.

There weren’t many people at the Slytherin table when she’d walked over, giving a nod to Colt and Skylar, along with a curious yet still polite look at the others. The two blondes and the boy. It made her wonder if she was going to be that much more unique than she had been the past terms, now that Dot had graduated. As it was, she didn’t see Hady nor the other person she kind of wanted to see, not that she would have admitted it had anyone asked. The Sorting wasn’t of particular interest either, besides wondering if fire girl would get what she’d wanted. Instead, as she took a seat at the table, her blue eyes went up to the staff table. She was slightly disappointed that the headmaster hadn’t chosen to be there in his Animagus form this term, as well as that it seemed like more than half the staff was new. At least Newton and Hirsch were still there, and their head of house. It meant there were still a few who knew how she worked.

Slytherin! HA! She had been sorted into the house she had wanted! Not that she would mention to ANYONE that the sorting hat had considered it to place her into Gryffindor! Bleh, absolutely NOT! She suppressed a shudder and wondered why the sorting hat would have thought about it, not that it mattered anymore…

While she sat down she saw a red haired girl sitting, she was a first year too, she had seen the girl standing in the crowd and she decided that it was time to make her first friend! So she tapped the girl on her shoulder and grinned at the other girl. “Hi! I’m Leesha Griffel” She whispered to not disturb the sorting ceremony.

Maggie was still grasping at the concept of everything being her last time doing it this term. Her last train ride TO Hogwarts. Her last start of term feast. Her last....she was a seventh year now and while she was in fact very much looking forward to life after Hogwarts she still had a lot of things to do before that. She had to leave a legacy behind and so far she felt like she hadn't QUITE achieved that just yet.

But hey, she still had a whole year to make sure people would remember her.

Finding the only person already seated at her house table that she remotely deemed interesting enough to sit with, Maggie chose the seat next to Brooklyn. "Hey." And while she even gave her dorm mate a polite smile, her eyes were soon wandering around the Great Hall. Where to start...where to start....everything had to be well thought through after all...and she had to be aware of everyone and everything going on around her.

Oh look, new professors.

Whelp they were here. She was at the feast, but all she wanted to do was go back to her room. The girls expected her to be here though so Natalia was here. She looked down the table and then moved her eyes to the others. She knew Dot wouldn't be sitting there with her graduation crown, but the thought of it made the sixth year smile. She's maybe mirror her, Zay, or Alex when she got back to her room before mirroring Roman.

Though she was going to hangout with Cal, Sha, and Vince tonight too.


She'd have to just see how the evening went before she decided on anything. Moving to find a seat she sat on the edge farthest from the staff table. There were many new faces and so many men. Did the headmaster not like women? Playing with her unicorn locket she shifted her eyes away from the adults and took a few breathes to calm her anxiety.

The entire summer had flown by, from band practice and the band playing in the talent show, to spending time with family and watching her baby siblings grow, all the way to going to Paris with Frankie and his family. Before she had known it she was in DA shopping for this terms things, her robes and textbooks as well as everything else.

Hady was still trying to comprehend that she had also just rode in on the train with all her friends for the final time.

She was of age now. She was of age as well. A seventh year. Head Girl.

Taking a small breath Hadleigh pushed the large doors open and stepped into the Great Hall her eyes instantly seeking out the Staff Table even as she fixed the badge fasted onto her robes. Hazel eyes moved over each staff member sitting there. Headmaster Sohnoun was here again, interesting. Professor Stewart, Newton, Myers, McLeod and Hirsch were all here as well. Each one of them got a smile and a nod of the head in greeting, she would say hello to them later. The examination of professors didn't stop there not until she mentally counted the new people. To many. Way way waaaayyyyyy to many.

Where was Ichicara, Primeaux, Airey, Draper and Finch?!

This couldn't be happening. Not this term. Shaky breaths were happening right now and she couldn't help but turn her eyes towards the table of red and gold. Frankie. Where was the Head Boy and boyfriend, she needed to speak to him. Calm her nerves before going to greet everyone and make a quick round to the tables before the feast. Only she didn't see him...

Chewing her lower lip she exhaled slowly through her nose. Alright so there wouldn't be her going to the other table first. Running a hand through her hair and walking towards her table. The Slytherins. Nothing beat sitting with her house. The usual grin was on her face as she was determined to not show anything was wrong. It was all going to be okay.

"Hello everyone! Did you all have a good summer? Ready for a great term?" Hady was talking to everyone at the table. All of them. Bright smiles and waves for all her friends and the new house mates as well. The band mate got a curious look from her as she slid into an empty spot at the center of the table. Being in the middle made it easy to keep an eye on everyone.

After receiving the news that she would be a Slytherin, June made her way towards the table that was all decked out in green. She liked green, she supposed. It was better than yellow and red, that was for sure. She didn't know what anything else meant of it. She had heard that Slytherins were the worst and mean, but as she approached the table, she saw a girl her age with a shiny badge talking to everyone. That seemed friendly enough...

June sat in the general vicinity of that girl with the badge and another girl that looked her age too. She didn't say a word, she just looked around at the giant room, the teachers up there, the painting, the friggin AWEsOME ceiling and still tried to grasp the concept that she was going to be in a castle for the next several months.

Weird.

After what could have been seen as a dramatic exit from her house table, Dora started toward the Slytherin table. Maybe one of her friends there would distract her. People said Gryffindors were reckless and stupid, but she knew some equally dumb Snakes. Ha!

Just as she was about to duck to avoid the Head Girl (not for any reason other than she got the impression the girl was worried about her) she laid eyes on someone. Someone she didn't KNOW. Merlin, she was pretty. Like a Raven haired ANGEL. The likelihood of that was slim, but still. Dora felt drawn to her. Maybe she was weird. That could be why Dora made a beeline for her? Whatever the reason, the fourth year found herself standing in front of the new arrival... eyes wide and staring, an outstretched hand, and a rather grim set to her mouth. Totally normal.

"You're new. " NAILED IT!

As soon as the Hat sorted her to the Slytherin house, Alyce made her way toward her house. She was a bit surprise first when it yelled Slytherin but at the same time she doesn't. And she did tell the Hat to put her here so here she was, Slytherin House Table. The first person she saw was a girl who look like a year older than her (Skylar). "Hi. My name is Alyce. I'm the new addition to the Slytherin house." Want to be friends? And she saw an older made it two older male students. She never know how to talk to older boys. They're just scary. So she just sat there and gave them a small smile before a new person, an older pretty red hair girl came and sat in front of her (Brooklyn). She couldn't help to stare the older girl. She's sooooo pretty. "You're so pretty." Ummm... "I mean Hello." Blush. She hoped the older girl didn't think she's a freak or something.

She was just still trying to recover from her embarrassing moment when she felt someone tapped her on her shoulder. Oh. Hello there friend. "Hi. Leesha. I'm Alyce. Nice to meet you." She hoped the girl didn't mind she called her by her first name.

Then came another older girl (Hady). But this older girl has a badge on her robe. She couldn't see very well what its said from where she sat but she guess she's the one in charge? Because badge mean people with power, no? Maybe she should say Hello to the badge girl. "Hi there, badge person. I'm Alyce." Since she didn't know her name, badge person would do for now.

More and more people were coming toward the Slytherin table and she had trouble with where to look first. Then her eye fell on a older girl and she seemed to be a important person so when she greeted everyone in general Leesha didn't hesitate to look at the older girl and stuck out her hand to the girl with the badge. "I'm Leesha, are you a important student because of that badge?" She pointed at the badge and she hoped that the older girl wasn't offended that she was so blunt with her questions, especially because they were strangers.

Turning her head when the other girl with the red hair spoke she smiled widely. "Hii Alice! You're new here too right? So we need to be friends!" Leesha grinned excitedly and looked around her. "I'm sure it will be fun!" The now first year Slytherin stared openly curious at all the people around her and decided that being at Hogwarts was the best thing ever!

Skylar hadn't realized she'd been STARING at the new Arithmancy Professor until someone broke her attention span with a hi. Huh? How long had she been staring anyway? This was such a strange moment and he was so much older and this was weird. And like, no one noticed, right? She could just say he looked 'interesting', because he did.

Shaking her head to try and focus her attention back on her PEERS, she smiled at someone seated in her relative vicinity. "Hiii... I'm Skylar." And who was this girl? She looked about her age; not new but definitely not like Maggie or Brooklyn or Hady ... of whom Sky gave a brief nod and smile to; cause respect of the older Snake girls, and all.

Speaking of older girls; one sat down next to her which was really weird. Why wouldn't she sit with other girls her age? Not that Sky minded; she was alright with older people and maybe the girl was new to Hogwarts and not sure who was in her year and whatnot. It seemed as if Hogwarts did get a slew of transfers each year.

Niomi. Huh, Sky definitely didn't recognize the name.

"Hi Niomi. I'm Skylar. Are you new to Hogwarts?" Sky asked curiously. And more nods as more familiar faces joined the table; it's good that there were at least familiar faces now. Perk of being older.


Aww, one of the new snakes sought HER out to speak to her first!!! Skylar just felt so honored and thrilled right about now. Like she felt super important, even though she was only twelve. Perhaps she just looked approachable or whatever. Honestly, it didn't matter because there was someone younger than her - approaching her and she felt a moment of nostalgia as she recalled herself a year ago with Hady.

"Hi Alyce! Welcome to Slytherin House! I'm Skylar, one of the second years." And well they were all pretty cool, if Sky did say so herself. Yup, she pretty much adored her dormmates. "Have you heard much about Slytherin house?" You know, just making friendly conversation; curious as to see if the girl had any preconceived notions that Sky needed to slash.

People, so much people, she loved it! Another girl sat close and was talking to a few other kids and she seemed to be popular, or she just had just a lot friends! Leesha too wanted to know a lot kids here at Hogwarts so she too tried to get the attention from the slightly older girl and waved. "Heeey! I'm Leesha and i'm new here!" She spoke eager to learn to know as much people as he could.

As the Great Hall started to fill with more students Niomi searched for faces she recognized. So far, she stopped none. How odd. Then, before she was about to stop looking she saw someone she recognized. He was sitting down the table a little ways. "Hi Colt," She greeted. Didn't hurt to say hi to some of the Slytherins she knew.

Niomi continued to search the hall for familiar faces. She took a long stare at the long table for the Professors. There are so many new Hogwarts staff. Where did they previous Professors go? Niomi had no idea. How odd. That was none of her business though.

Once she decided she had enough of trying to figure out what's going on with the Hogwarts staff, she focused her attention back to looking around the Great Hall. Right away she spotted Hady, the head girl. Before Niomi could greet her, Hady greeted the present Slytherins. In reply Niomi said back, "Hi Hady. I had a great summer. How was yours?"

"It's nice to meet you Skylar." Was Niomi new to Hogwarts? Nope! She's been here for a very long time. With a small smile she answered Skylar's question, ""No, I'm in sixth year and I've been here all six long years." After a small pause a question came to her to ask, "Are you new? What year are you?" When Niomi meets new people she always has so many questions. She couldn't flat out ask someone all the questions she has. She needs to take the questions little by little. Her main question though was how old Skylar was. She was younger than Niomi, but looked older than a first year.

As Niomi searched the halls to greet fellow familiar Slytherins she noticed a girl her age. She sat as far away as she could get from everyone. If possible, it seems to be that she wouldn't even be here if it was on her terms. Was she new? Niomi didn't recognize her. The girl sat at the end of the table alone and Niomi felt bad for her.

Getting up, she walked towards the girl. Softly she smiled and said, "Hi, I'm Niomi. Are you new here? You look lonely all by yourself sitting here. Would you like to come sit over here with me and a few others?" Hopefully Niomi didn't push it too hard on the girl. She hated to make people uncomfortable! She gasped at the thought of her possibly doing that just now. Something she hated and always hated doing.

WHAT'S UP, HOGWARTS PEOPLE?

It was Hugo's lasssttt year in this school and he made sure he was looking good on his last first day. As always. The seventh year strolled down the hall towards his table, wearing his Prefect badge and looking for a familiar face. There was Maggie, Brooklyn, Hady, new kids and...that's it. Yeah. No Dante, yet.

"Congrats Hady" said with a smile, she deserved it. "Where's Frankie?" He knew the Gryffindor was the Head Boy and wanted to congratulate him as well. And now, he had to welcome everyone, right? He looked around, "Hello everyone! Welcome back! And to the new Slytherins, welcome to the best house!" Hope you all behave .

After that, he sat down next to Maggie. "Hey, what's up?" and also greeted Brooklyn "Hey Brooklyn".

Another new snake!!! Awe, both Leesha and Alyce were SO friendly and outgoing, that Sky had to wonder why they weren't Hufflepuffs!! Perhaps there was overbearing sense of cunning behind the façade in which they used to get into Slytherin House! Whatever the case, Sky was definitely keeping an eye on those two.

"Welcome, Leesha! I'm Skylar!" And she wasn't new, so no sense in saying so. "You excited?" Because she should be; Slytherins were pretty awesome, especially now that her father had vaguely come around to the idea of his third child being a snake.

Huh. Well she wouldn't have known the girl for her first four years, but she should have known her last term, except perhaps Sky would just chalk it up to herself being new and nervous and anxious and taking it all in. Now that she was adjusted to the castle, maybe she was just more able to meet new people. "Oh, okay." She bit her lip and shook her head. "No, I'm not new. I'm a second year" Clearly the coolest class, not that she was bias or anything, except she totally was. Now where was Vivian and Junia to back her up on that?

Oh there was their other prefect, Hugo, making his appearance. She gave him a friendly smile when he welcomed them back, but didn't really say much more than that because well.. he didn't really know her. Yet.

Lyra was relieved the Sorting Hat yelled out Slytherin as she went to sit at the Table for her first ever Hogwarts Feast. Not knowing anyone she walked to the end of the long table a plopped herself down and cheered whenever another Slytherin was Sorted. She was also waiting for the Head Master Announcements. She being the new girl at the table wasn't going to start a conversation which was weird for her as she was usually the abrupt one, but with all the commotion going on she didn't know where to start.

Lio eyed the large great hall as she carefully chose a seat away from the other Slytherins who seemed to be enjoying one another. The looks she shot around with her black eyes had a 'not so impressed' air to it for she had never been happy about the idea of transferring to another school. That was all because of stupid dad and his stupid job.

She grumbled slightly as she looked down on the table in front of her. Silverware, ok. But where was the food? She was hungry and she hoped this inferior school with its loud people at least would have some nice food to satisfy her hunger. Well maybe she didnt really expect the food to be nice here yet still she needed some. Meh.

"Hey, EVERYBODY!"

...and no, she wasn't screaming at the top of her lungs. Ariadne had just said her greeting loud enough where probably everybody at least sitting on one end of the table would hear her. She was in a talk-to-everybody mood, because who had time to be all moody and irritable. NOT HER. This was the year she would make lots of friends and actually be sociable and have people to hang out with when she went to Hogsmeade.

Wow. There were so many new people in Slytherin this year. "SLYTHERIN! Best house everrr!" she said to one of them. "Congrats and stuff!" The only thing that would make this moment better was FOOD being served, because after that long train ride, Ariadne was STARVING.

Of course fire girl ended up in Slytherin. When she’d realized that, Brooklyn merely had the thought that hopefully the firstie learned what a compliment was. Going round telling people they looked old certainly wasn’t going to go over well. Yet for the most part, she hadn’t stopped watching the staff table and the new professors, although she’d noticed Skylar’s return smile and nod in her peripheral vision. That was good enough. She didn’t need an enthusiastic greeting after all.

As she’d realized there was another firstie at the table, though, along with several others she hadn’t seen before, she’d momentarily turned back to observe the table. A faint smile crossed her features as the tiny redhead had spoken to her. Leesha should take note. That was how someone complimented a person. “Thank you,” she replied with a nod, taking note of the firstie’s name. Alyce. She’d remember that. If she’d been inclined to have minions, the redhead would work. Her and the Gryffindor girl from the train ride home last term.

Speaking of Gryffindors, one had apparently invaded their table to speak to another of the new faces, and Brooklyn had gone back to paying more attention to the staff table. If anything, she might be able to learn something just through observation. Although that was going to be difficult as her view was temporarily blocked by a certain blonde. “Maggie,” she said politely, giving her dorm mate a nod before shifting so she could continue her examination of the new professors. Obviously Hady had made the same decision, as she noticed the arrival of the head girl. She’d given her the usual nod and smile, noting how concerned her friend seemed about something or another. Maybe the sheer number of new professors for their last term?

She’d gotten distracted, however, as the other person she’d sort of been looking for earlier had suddenly arrived and sat by Maggie. “Hi.” For a moment she was tempted to make sure that Dante wasn’t hiding under the table or anything, but she chose not to. Instead, she just started to wonder, glancing over as she heard Ariadne’s exuberant greeting but generally not saying anything. There wasn’t much to say without her wanting to ask questions that probably shouldn’t be asked in present company. She hadn’t forgotten the interrogation by Maggie last term either, after all.

The girl at the table finally glanced up, and Katy flashed her a conspiratorial smile. The place was filling up around them, but it was all the older kids with their drama and angst and like... it was dead amusing, but it didn't really impact them, did it now? Instead, Katy offered a hand across the table toward the girl.

"Katherine Toussaint. Katy, though, because Katherine is too long when you're in a pinch. Skylar, like Selina Skylar of the Harpies? D'you like Quidditch?" Because Katy could talk the sport, if that was what was required.

And that... that was a newbie that Katy was claiming, mmk? So everyone else should just leave her be. Katy leaned down the table and grinned broadly at the new student, even offering her hand to shake. Shaking hands was one of those generally accepted social conventions that made people feel like you were putting YOURSELF forward, rather than just your hand. Her daddy told her that, and he was very good at understanding people.

"Hi. You're new, yeah? It's a lot to take in, but we're the best house. Like... the others aren't bad, but they aren't us." For example, the Ravenclaws were nerds and the Hufflepuffs were... puffley. It was better to be a Slytherin, in Katy's opinion, and best to be a Katy and a Toussaint. "I'm Katy. By the way."
