Azura moved into muggle studies with a happy smile on her face. She loved this class and she was excited to be here! She blinked through as she entered the nearly empty class room, maybe she was a bit TOO excited?

"Hello Professor Stewart! How are you today? " She asked as she waved. The fourteen year old carefully surveyed the classroom before she chose a spot on the left side of the room!

Kimi entered the muggle studies classroom and said "Hello Professor Stewart how are we doing today?" Kimi was glad to be hopefully learning about something fun

Muggle studies was always an easier class Nat thought, but usually a fun one. So getting to the class on time wasn't an issue, well except for the time she slept in and was late of course. Heading to class Nat stopped first at the kitchen to grab a coffee before heading in. Stepping into the classroom she was surprised to see she was one of the first in the room.

She turned and gave Azura and Kimi a wave before finding her own seat. Did the professor have another movie for them to watch possibly? She could write Cal a note to read later when he was bored in one of his classes. Unless he was in class then she would just sit by him and not be focused at all.

It was nice to finally feel like the weather was getting warmer and potentially staying less rainy. Even if she had to spend the day in classes rather than outside at the moment. Cass was certainly going to make sure to get out during break though for now she was grateful that the windows to the classroom were left open. Plenty of fresh air to be had in the meantime while they learn about…well about whatever the lesson was to be about today.

He saw the professor behind the desk waiting for the student's arrival. At the same time as he looked around finding no indication what they would be learning today, he gave the professor a small smile and then he found a seat to sit at.

Kitty walked into the brightly lit Muggle Studies classroom. The open windows and the warm weather were making her feel very cheerful that morning. "Good morning Professor Stewart. How are you today?"

She then waved to Azura and moved to sit down next to Kimi, a first year Hufflepuff who she didn't know very well. "Hey Kimi. Mind if sit here?" Yes, she knew his name.

Juno quietly walked into the Muggle Studies classroom. It was such a nice day out that she was totally and completely distracted by it. She wanted to be outside so badly, but she knew she had to focus and pay attention. "Hello, Professor Stewart," Juno said with a small smile before she went on to find an open seat.

She quickly pulled out everything she thought she would need for the class, and waited distractedly for class to start.

The urge to go outside was so strong, that Jace almost missed the Muggle Studies Classroom while looking outside the hallway's windows. Why can't they go and study outside? Surely, the fresh air would benefit everyone...except for sleepyheads.

Entering the classroom, Jace gave Professor Stewart a grin, and bowed his head in greeting. "Ohayo, sensei." Without wasting another second, he moved on to take a seat beside an older Hufflepuff student. Oh, and a badged one too! "Ohayo." he said with a smile, and proceeded with preparing his things for class.

This half-blood is ready to learn!

Stepping into the classroom, Paige couldn't help but feel a sense of graduation looming even more than the April weather already implied. At least...she had seen graduation set ups like this before, the path down the middle for the graduating class to walk before taking their seats in the front. More common, however, were weddings which Paige was not keen on at the moment for two spooky reasons - Hayley's aside since she was doing the flower arranging for.

"Good day, professor," Paige smiled nervously as she took a seat all the way down in the front. Muggle Studies was a class, despite her upbringing, that she did feel a little more confident in. Even if she was still festering over the Wizard of Oz lesson and how they had NOT been discussing the source material.

Muggle Studies!

Tim prance into the classroom that morning. Her recent moods had been better from before so she was feeling happier. Besides, this was one of her favorite classes. The blonde was staying to understand Muggle items more as time went. Growing up in the Wizarding world then moving to the Muggle one, sometimes made her confused. "Good morning, professor," Tim greeted her with a smile. She then spotted Nat and quickly sat next to her. Now class would be more better.

The trickle of students had stopped and Kay knew it was time to commence the lesson. She rose from her seat, walked over to the door and locked it. Tough luck, late ones. Should they arrive now, they will most certainly loose points.

Smile on her face, she turned to her students. “Welcome to yet another Muggle Studies lesson! Today will be more of a discussion based class.’’ Kay hoped that they wouldn’t find it boring. She just would like to know where the younger minds stood when it came to Muggles. “My aim, for as long as I remain her as your professor, is to bridge any gaps you may have with muggles; for your respect to increase for them just as you would respect a witch or wizard. There is still some dislike for the non magical to some extent and I thought it would be interesting to know your opinions on them.’’ Some- like Kitty Valentine- she already knew their opinions. “So, that is my exact question to you all. What do you think of Muggles in general?’’

What did Jonas think of muggles in general?? Huh...Jonas never really thought about it to be honest. He rose his hand.
"Honestly Professor, I never really thought about it. I mean they're really no harm to us. I mean, I guess they're alright. " Jonas then had a question. "Professor....I read somewhere that all witches and wizards are related in some way. If that's the case then how did we end up with muggles if it seems witches and wizards existed sense ancient times?"
Then again....oy. Jonas felt stupid for asking such an obvious question.

Juno was deep into her Muggle Studies textbook, when she heard someone say something to her from her side. She dazedly looked up with big confused eyes for a moment, before realizing it was the one Ravenclaw boy that was always hanging out with Az. She gave him a smile, "Hi!" She hoped that was the proper response, she wasn't really sure what he said and felt kinda bad for it.

Juno pondered this question for a few minutes. She had muggles in her family, and her father always made sure they got the "muggle experience" as well as the wizarding one. It was generally the wizarding one, but she had a lot of muggle experience as well.

Juno raised her hand, and politely waited to be called on. When it was her turn, she answered, "Well, I think Muggles, though lacking in magic like ours, have magic and talents of their own that can be commended. I mean look at all of the technology they created! Also, just because they don't have magic, doesn't mean they aren't good people, I mean they do make up the majority of the world. Part of my family were muggles at one point. So...muggles are cool." She was sure she would get some looks for that bit, but she didn't care. Muggles and wizards shouldn't be kept from each other.

Paige couldn't help but feel her stomach knot up a bit at this question. She was, perhaps, being overly sensitive to something she could not herself understand...but she imagined that if she were a muggleborn she would be feeling incredibly uncomfortable right now. It was a good thing her step brother had dropped the subject or else they would all likely have to suffer through some snarky remark since he was, in fact, a muggleborn. Meanwhile, the Hufflepuff herself was struggling with how to respond to this and ended up falling back on some of her healing course studies as a sort of neutral territory.

"The manifestation of magical genes are the only thing that separate witches and wizards from muggles," Paige stated upon raising her hand. "Simply a matter of whether or not those magical genes are active or not and even then, should a person have inactive genes, it is still possible for someone from a pure magical family to be born with inactive magical genes and produce a Squib."

Not exactly an opinion really...but the seventh year was not feeling like formulating an opinion about a people based on genetic makeup seeing as she found the whole notion of magical supremacy absurd.

Admittedly, this wasn't a question he expected from this class. Yeah...this was about Muggles and they learned about them specifically but having an opinion on them? Uh...he just liked that they were never instructed to draw their wands and cast at the Professor's will. It just wasn't that deep for the Gryffindor.

Blaise leaned back in his seat, not bothered by the lack of projector today. His quill had made note of it but that was about it, the only lasting memory there would be that this particular class had no visuals.

"I think I pity them Professor. They make up most of the world but they're the least advantaged." Ironic coming from the kid who disliked using magic, considering the criteria for this assessment was their lack of magic. "It's like....they don't get any of the amazing stuff we have. Like quick quotes quills and magical creatures and artifacts that do epic things." Note he didn't say 'they can't use magic'. That wasn't necessarily a disadvantage to him.

"We get to know about their world and see what they have to offer but there's this whole statute of secrecy that prevents them from knowing anything about our world. There's no equal sharing of information--and it's their fault. I think they're an ignorant set that destroy what they don't understand or can't themselves possess so maybe in the end I don't pity them that much." He didn't think much of them in truth.

Well that was an interesting question. Bentley never really thought about what he thought about muggles. He had muggle blood in him for sure, which was the cause of a lot of contention within his family, he was coming to understand.

What did he think about them though?

He didn't particularly harbour any malicious thoughts for them but he didn't care much for them either.

"I suppose I'm relatively indifferent to them professor."

Kimi listened to what his fellow classmates were saying and raised his hand and said "I pity muggles cause although some of them show magical talents and stuff i feel for those muggles who have to suffer through there life, doing boring jobs and everything else without magic"

Azura was quiet as she listened to the discussion going on.. Tye subject of muggles could be sensitive among wizard, especially among pureoods.. which she was..
But she had no dislike for them..in fact..

"Growing up Professor, My Mom and Step Dad, Aunt and Uncle, even my Grandparents all taught me to love and respect muggles. As Paige said.." Azura nodded at the Hufflepuff in respect. "The only difference is that we have a magical gene and they do not. Nothing else. So I think they are wonderful, because we could have easily been them. "

She had said her piece, all of the blood purity in the world made her sick..

And now she was ready for when Professor Stewart called for their attention and started the lesson. A discussion-based class. Cassie couldn’t help the small face she had before realizing it. Okay so she liked learning regardless, but activities often made it more interesting or more understandable if you were struggling on getting the topic.

What an interesting question. Kay took a moment to get her answer together before addressing Jonas and the class in general. “That question would go all the way back to ancient times as you said, yes. It would seem as though some were fortunate to be born with magical blood while others were not. I’m not saying that it’s unfortunate to be a Muggle but I know some of them would like to have the abilities you do and would consider you as fortunate.’’

Were her feelings a little hurt by these responses? Yes, they were but Kay simply nodded. “I see. But muggles have survived all these years without magic. They have adapted to a life that many of them are comfortable with, inventing quite a few things to make their everyday work easier, for their entertainment and so forth.’’ She didn’t blame the students for thinking this way but here’s to hoping that they would change that. “You’re quite right, Mr Bellaire. The secrecy is to protect us since Muggles would be wanting magic to solve their problems or just for the fun of it. That may be so but in the end, we can all get along with each other without looking down on them.’’

“Alright, everyone. I have a good idea of where you stand when it comes to the topic of Muggles. Now, we have mentioned the lack of magic that comes from them, which in my opinion is the sole difference between them and us. Can you tell me if you think you’d be able to live without magic?’’ Her eyes went to Blaise. Everyone knew how he felt about magic but she would still like him to elaborate a little on her question if he could. “I know that many of you are underage currently and you should have a fair amount of experience about not using magic out of Hogwarts. Comparing that experience with being able to use magic while being here, which do you prefer if you choose any? Not being able to do magic currently make you have a greater appreciation for Muggles?’’

Azura bit her lip and looked down for a moment as The Professor spoke and she shook her head a little before raising her hand.. "Professor, I'm not good at many things. I can play the piano pretty well and bake. But other than that, I'm emotional and clumsy and can't do many things right...

Except for magic. Magic is something that I can do. I feel like I'm at home here at Hogwarts and with a wand in my hand. I've made the best friends a person could have here. This is where I belong.. I wouldn't be able to live without magic. It's a part of me. " She could almost feel herself tearing up a bit..

She took a breath and swallowed trying to get herself under control.

Blaise Bellaire WHAT even was that?!

Paige liked the Gryffindor well enough and thought he was a hard worker and great asset to her team - even if his quill got the best of his writing and caused her a real migraine at times when it came to editing - but she was having a VERY difficult time stomaching his opinion. That sort of thing, although her imagination had come up with some more colorful language, was precisely why she was so uncomfortable with the question being posed on the first place. Thus...the Hufflepuff was just gaping at him. Quite obviously as she was hardly subtle when it came to emotional responses.

So much so that she nearly missed class moving on and DID miss the professor's response to to entirely. Sorry, no offense meant to you, professor.

It was only after a few of her classmates answered did the Hufflepuff stop her blatant staring and quiet fuming to pay attention and kind-of-sort-of piece together what had been asked in the first place. Something about...being able to use magic...and...um...oh okay. She thought she had it.

Taking a moment to reflect on her own day-to-day use, the only magic that she really capitalized on was her ability to apparate. Which, in all honesty, since turning 17 had made certain private affairs so much easier and she was ever grateful for it...but could she live without it? Well, she wouldn't die if she had to use the train...so she supposed yes? But in her chosen field post Hogwarts, it was more of the knowledge of magic that was important rather than actual application. At least at the base level.

"Professor?" Paige said, hand raised and with the intent of asking a question rather than answering. "Do you mean just lacking the capability of performing magic but still with the access to the knowledge of its usage? Not just spells but...potions and other magical subjects?" She pause for a moment, looking around the class a bit sheepishly.

Which was really...asking the difference between living like a Squib and living like a Muggle...

"Because...when I was underage I honestly felt more for Squibs and appreciated the bravery of those who fought to integrate into wizarding society rather than escape to the Muggle because of the stigma placed upon that particular status in our society. Having all that knowledge and potential at their fingertips but without the permission - in my case from wizarding law and in theirs genes - to perform."

Interesting was the right word for this class discussion. It was like, an open debate of some sort, and in all honesty, Jace was surprised that no actual debate came up. Were his classmates hearing themselves? Were they aware of the real topic? Being the son of a man who works for diplomatic relationship, this discussion sounded so...serious...and a bit political in a sense.

The Ravenclaw picked his quill up and started to write down his opinion regarding this matter in full blown Japanese. Jace couldn’t decide which one is better, when the answer is very clear: Respect. Why can’t they just peacefully co-exist? It’s doable too!

“Definitely, professor.” He said with a raised hand, “Because we have a choice whether to use magic or not. Muggles don’t have that option. They have to rely on inventions which could take ages to develop.”
