This is a key stepping stone into determining your placement in the Jinx Tournament so please take this seriously. A list of spells to use can be found HERE while the cost of physical actions can be found below.
Please note that these actions take away from the Fatigue Points section. Also note that these are only taken into account if you're attacking or avoiding a spell. If you're simply moving around the hall, these points don't need to be considered.

Professor Hirsch will be present to oversee the duels and will only interfere if the duel ends or any foul play or unsportsmanship-like behaviour is displayed.
OOC: This duel must be completed by the 10th of October by 11:59pm GMT+1/BST. You're required to make a minimum of 3 posts each in that time.

Remember to keep a track of your points both in the title of your post (before any spells have been cast) and at the end of the post (after your charrie has cast a spell). Please refer to this post if you're confused as to how this works or, simply, come to me. Include as much information as you can about the spell in the spoiler section at the bottom of your post, including the directionality of the spell.
Also remember to be as realistic as possible with your charrie's age and ability.
First person mentioned in the thread title is the first person to start off the duel.
Genny did not find this pairing fun at all. The irony was not lost on her that this would be her first encounter with Spitter boy. Maybe it was better this way than meeting him in a happy environment and getting her day ruined. At least now she'd be rewarded points for trying to hurt the Slytherin, heh heh. Walking up onto the dais, her wand tightly held in her hand, Genny gave Tak a professional bow and assumed the attacking position. Oh she'd been training for this ever since she could hold a stick, copying her dad's moves. Now, she could come up with her own moves.
"Bombarda!" A powerful ray shot out of her wand towards Tak's feet. Not joking around.

To be honest, Takeru Asakura was still very much confused on how he even ended up in the tournament. In the note he has forged he has been sure that he had signed off not allowing him to fight at all...but maybe there had been a mistake?
And after his name had been announced it would only result in possible taunts and jeers if he pulled his name out. Mostly from his opponent
Glancing up at the ceiling for a second he turned his eyes back to the person in front of him. The girl who had attacked him for no good reason at all. Without much reaction his hand trailed to his wand before bowing low.
The moment he stood back up he realized that the match would not be a good one. The girl - Genny? Her stance was a professional one. Tak was not a dueller but his last school Himitsumahou, had duelling wrapped up in most of the core classes. The focus, it treated it like an art. And he had been bad at it then.
He stepped back a bit, spreading his feet as he prepared. Positives on his side: his speed. Negatives: he actually only knew about five spells. And combination of Lumos and Nox- the incantations both a pair that he counted as one- wouldn't really help him in a duelling setting.
So he had four other spells at his disposal.
Tak subtly glanced at her wand and waited for the moment when it twitched downward, without much thought he jumped up as the ground exploded below him. Before his feet had even landed back on the smashed ground he raised his wand. "Flipendo!"

Genny barely recovered from the sound of her small explosion when Tak's spell hit her across the chest. She flinched as she almost lost her balance and was sent a couple steps backward. The spell wasn't harmful or anything but it took her by surprise, she didn't expect him to retaliate so fast.
A small smile tugged at her mouth when she gained her balance. Not bad, Tak. Seems like she had to upgrade her spells a little for Spitter boy. With that same small smile, Genny raised her wand and not-so-subtly cast, "Slugulus Eructo!" Her voice loud and clear and her arms switching before she followed it with another creature-spitting hex; The Sardine hex. He liked to spit, didn't he? This should teach him how disgusting it is.

As he kicked over a piece of smashed floor Tak glanced at Genny. She had barely been knocked back at all and it was something he had been afraid of. His pronunciation must have been off because normally that jinx was stronger....though he also didn't normally use it on people so that had to be accounted for as well. Raising his wand he was about to cast it one more time for good measure when Genny proved to be faster. No. Just more aware. Her wand movement had been slight and he didn't notice that spell had been cast until t was barreling at him and hit him square in the chest.
Recoiling back a little, Tak blinked. His stomach began to bubble and the most sickening feeling crept up his throat. It was thick and moist and warm and it was creeping up and up despite how hard he fought to swallow it down. Taking one step backwards he didn't have anytime to process anything before a fat slimy slug erupted from his mouth.
And that's when the madness began, because the first slug was not alone. Another one followed it, and another. The warm sticky slime clinging to the inside of his mouth as he retched again and again. Leaning forward the Slytherin didn't even register as he was hit with another spell.
It didn't register to him at all.
Until breathing began to get difficult. A clogging feeling was filling up his nose as the slugs escaped.
It wasn't often that Tak freaked out about things. He wasn't even freaking out about the fact that legless creatures were escaping from his mouth. It didn't even freak him out that there were things in his nostrils wiggling to get out as well. But the two of them together? He was freaking out.
Because with theses two spells together, he couldn't breathe.
His nails dug into his palms as he dropped down to his knees, in the pool of vomited slugs. This was - this as bad, this horrible. It didn't even occur to him that he was still in a duel. He didn't care. Jerking his head wildly from left to right he struggled to get some sort of air in his system.

Genny did not know what she expected but she certainly did not expect her hexes to go SO well. Her small smile remained on her mouth, probably giving the wrong impression on those watching them, as Tak gagged and basically fell to his knees while he struggled breathing. Maybe the Sardine bit was over the top? But he had to learn not to spit at people! This was the only way to teach him without causing her to lose more points.

"Finite!" Genny yelled as soon as he started wiggling his head from side to side, she'd gotten dangerously closer to him but only to make sure the sardines stopped coming out of his nose and he could breathe again. Originally, she aimed to stop all creatures coming out of his face, hopefully one finite would work. She couldn't believe she almost killed the boy trying to teach him a lesson. Did she go too far? Her eyebrows knitted as she stared at the Slytherin there on the floor. Did she misjudge him?
She couldn't cast anything else now, but also she wasn't stupid as to hand him the duel willingly so she thought of something else. "Colloshoo." He could stay there kneeling on the floor until the end of the duel.

It was no use. Even with the thrashing he still couldn't breath as something slowly made his way out of his nostrils and the slugs continued to pile out of his mouth. The sardines head were just popping out when suddenly-Genny approached, yelled, and it was all over. His nostrils were cleared.
Just like that it was done. Gasping for air Tak leaned over on the ground.
The slugs had not stopped though. But they seemed to be coming at a slower pace already, which he noticed as he spit another one out.
.....Genny end the spell. But he didn't feel thankful at all since she was the one who had casted them.
Fist still clentched, Tak raised his wand and only then did he realize how close she had gotten. The duel didn't matter to him. All that mattered was getting her back. Without any hesitation he pointed it right at her face. "Immobulus!"

Genny's eyebrows were knotted together while Tak coughed and sputtered, the slugs kept going but in a much slower pace and the most important thing was he was breathing again. However, he didn't look very happy leaned over the floor like that... with sticky shoes, too. Genny swallowed when he looked up at her with his wand raising, she clutched hers in her hand...
... instinctively, she ducked.
No wands, no spells, no nothing. She just ducked when his wand was directed at her FACE. Her face! He aimed for her face! Her arms covered her head for a hot second while she crouched on the floor. Then anger at his lack of appreciation overcame her and she dragged her bum backwards to gain some distance, still holding the wand (not that it made any difference before ugh).

The spell didn't hit her. She ducked, and he had kind of expected it. Though- he didn't think it would matter if she ducked or not. He was pretty sure the spell had been weak and wouldn't have done much, if anything at all to her. Opening his mouth, Tak spit up one more slug before speaking. "Why are you trying to kill me?"
Wiggling a little he struggled to get up but couldn't. It felt like his feet were stuck to the ground. Great. Ugh. "Finite." He mumbled, pointing his wand at his shoes. In a matter of seconds he had jumped up, on his feet again, staring at Genny on the floor. "Stand up." He wouldn't attack her again while she was on the ground.

Hirsch had a personal motto when it came to his students: never try and get involved with personal matters unless it was a matter of security. Or if the student wished to tell him in the first place. But there was something about this duel, something about these two opponents, that made him wonder.
How much did they really hate each other?
Sure, he'd set up a roster in which people who didn't like each other were up against one another but this one was something else entirely. Maybe it was a good thing he was here in the first place to oversee this. The last thing either one of them would do was murder each other. Surely.
A part of him was glad when he had to end the duel itself. He even cleared his throat slightly, moreso to remind the two of them that he was there. Hello. "That was quite an interesting duel, I have to say," he said, stepping out from his spot, "You two are clearly very good at this. But, there can only be one winner today and, Miss Tate, you've taken the lead. Congratulations! And a very well done, Mr Asakura."
