Indoor Garden credit: hermionesclone Located on the far wall of the common room, one will find the indoor garden. A variety of beautiful flowers and plants sit in glass containers of all shapes and sizes, some seemingly growing right from the wall itself. If you've got a green thumb, the small work bench will give you the opportunity to do some planting on your own. The charms on the space ensure the temperature and lighting are perfect for the plant life. Not into Herbology? (HMMPH!) On the floor, an array of tree stumps are arranged in a semi circle so why not come sit and enjoy the serene space, instead? Either way, this new addition to the room is one you're sure to enjoy. |
Brian Woods had been hard at work all morning, running from the kitchen to the garden and trying to set up. Sure, he had help, but supervising was hard work. As well as sneaking snacks from the spread without ruining the aesthetic. But there was a tablecloth covering the workbench, and food stuff on it and buckets disguised as flowerpots underneath, far from prying eyes. Your male prefect, dear Hufflepuffs, was now lying spread-eagled on one of the blankets he'd laid across the ground of the indoor garden so you don't get grass stains on your pretty clothes, awaiting your arrival. And if you asked where Professor Myers was? "He's ... running a little late." Which is really just code for Professor Myers is having a fashion crisis and needs to get himself a little bit more together before he appears before an audience. |
The notice indicating to bring a change of clothes was a bit concerning, but given the colorful nature that was Professor Myers with these sorts of functions not at all surprising. Extra clothes packed in her owl shaped backpack, Paige made her way down from the girl's dormitories after spending the morning honing in on some of her Charms work. Well, reading and brushing up on theory, particularly that pertaining to Memory Charms. She was going to need to discuss a few things with Professor Marchand at a later date...once she figured out how best to formulate her request. "Hello, Brian," she chirped as she entered, disguised potted water balloons gone completely unnoticed as she approached the best friend. "Comfortable?" |
Harriet had been back from St Mungos for a few days now. She'd rested a little, and settled back in. But now she felt like getting involved in things. She wasn't about to let her epilepsy hold her back. She'd seen the notice in the common room and had been intrigued. It didn't give too much away, but was for hufflepuffs only. Which made Hattie happy. She loved being a hufflepuff. And this was going to be the first real thing she did since coming back to school. So it was going to be be fun. She'd packed a change of clothes into her school bag before heading down to the indoor garden. She wasn't sure why she needed more clothes, but she'd brought them anywhere. There was obviously a reason. She smiled as she saw that only Brian and Paige were there so far. "Hi guys..." The second year murmured with a smile. |
Kimi had seen the notice and made his way into the event and stood and said "Hello" There weren't many people he knew in Hufflepuff yet |
Where in Merlin's PANTS had his rainbow poncho gone? If Paul didn't know better he would have assumed Milton had finally thrown it out after all these years. Luckily, that had not been the case, and the poncho had merely been folded up neatly in one of his trunks with a note attached. You almost left this at home, you silly man. Knew you would have a heart attack with it. I packed it even though I hate this thing, Myers. You're lucky I love you. Have a good term, darling. -Milly WELL THAT had certainly put the Herbologist in a good mood for the Hufflepuff Picnic! He was so glad Brian and Juno had really taken the reigns with it, too; he barely had to do anything except......there was food, right? ....Was he in charge of the food? Were they in charge of food? WAS THERE PICNIC GONNA' HAVE ZERO FOOD?! THIS WAS HUFFLEPUFF. THAT COULDN'T HAPPEN. Paul peeked into the indoor garden anxiously. "Errr, Hello, everyone!" he waved at the few badgers already there. Juno wasn't here yet. He could only hope she was getting food. If no one got food..................he was doomed. He ruined the picnic |
A Hufflepuff picnic? You can bet Lucy would be there. She walked up to those gathered, took a seat, and habitually grabbed a small potted plant to tend to. "Hi," she smiled at the others. Brian she knew better than the rest, but..... Oh, and Myers, of course. Was he going to play for them?! |
Juno had just finished setting up the last bit of food. Brian had been working really hard today which meant limited contact. He seemed to be in better spirits today, so she decided that she would give him the benefit of the doubt after his manner at the feast and just assume he was having a bad day that day. She didn't want contention between them, and especially not at the annual Huffie Picnic! She looked over the food table once more, making sure that the special buckets were at each end of her tables. There were all sorts of finger foods, sandwiches cut into triangles with various meats and cheeses, fruit platters, vegetable platters, popcorn, a variety of chips, and some beautiful Hufflepuff themed cupcakes that Juno herself had made the night before. There were both chocolate and vanilla. She knew not everyone liked chocolate and not everyone liked vanilla. Juno had a knack for backing. Cupcakes were her favorite to make and she thought it would be a great contribution to the picnic. There was also a drink table set up with lemonade and gilly water. She noticed that people were starting to arrive and knew she needed to start greeting everyone. Apparently Professor Myers hadn't noticed her yet, which was fine. Sometimes she blended in well..or maybe he thought she was Esme. With a huge smile plastered on her face she turned about, "Welcome everyone! We have a lot of snacks and drinks to choose from so feel free to eat and drink to your hearts content." With that, she stepped away from the table. She had already been snacking while setting up and actually wasn't very hungry, which was a miracle. |
Owen was here! Of course he was. Picnics were fun. Hufflepuff picnics...way more fun. Food, games, Hufflepuff company, not to mention good ol' Professor Myers would be there. The man was bound to make this picnic worthwhile. With his signature grin in tow, Owen entered the garden then sauntered over to where a few Huffies where already gathered, "Hello!" He said to generally everyone. Their Head of House got a small nod, "Hello, sir." They were good to go at the food now, as their Prefect said so Owen helped himself to a cupcake before handing out a box of treats he made to said Prefect, "I brought some macaroons too, Miss Juno." Beam. |
Paul was glad to see Lucy because she was so shy and so SMOL. He had forgotten his banjo in his office, though, so no playing today. THANK GOD someone had brought food. Brian had...a plate of cookies, right? JUNO THOUGH...she had brought like...an entire FEAST. "Thank MERLIN for our lovely prefects because if not we wouldn't have any FOOD for this picnic--I forgot!" he admitted, feeling like a lame pineapple here. "And apparently OWEN too--those look so pretty, Owen!" he grinned so widely. "Everyone eat up!" he gestured at the food he was not responsible for bringing. "And.....FIVE POINTS to each of you for being helpful!" he grinned, a bit wickedly. He had not forgotten the feast. |
Kimi had no idea where to start because he didnt know many of his housemates and his shyness was really bothering him at the moment |
Henry was always up for a picnic, and an indoor picnic sounded fun. They were usually held outside, so something about it being held in the common room made it feel like it was a party. He headed inside after doing his usual morning things, noting that a lot of badgers were already present. "Hey, guys!" he greeted them all with a cheerful grin and wave. He stepped over first to the plant life, checking on the bonsai tree he had left nestled in among the greenery, then joined the group. "Oh wow, that's a lot of food.. everything looks great." His brown eyes took in the length of the table, before hesitantly looking at everyone else. They could start now, yeah? Someone had to be first and he grabbed a plate, starting to pile it up with some of the finger foods and little sandwiches. |
